Nova Poshta group of companies since the beginning of 2019 has increased the number of branches in the network by 1,200, or 42.9%, to 4,000, the group has said. “The main “shtick” of the network is that its offices open in villages and small settlements,” Oleksandr Bulba, the director of Nova Poshta, said.
He added that the network is also growing by providing opportunities for local entrepreneurs to open points directly in their stores.
According to the report, since the beginning of the year, more than 8 million customers used the services of the group, about 100 million parcels were delivered, whereas in the first half of 2018 Nova Poshta reported on 78 million shipments. Taking into account these figures, the growth was 28.2% compared with 21% in the first half of 2018.
According to the report, Ukrainians more actively order goods abroad: the number of parcels from the United States ordered using the NP Shopping service increased by 20%, from the UK by 86%, and tripled from Poland.
The report also notes that in the first half of 2019, the innovative terminal in Kyiv handled almost 46 million parcels, which is 34% more than in the same period last year. Khmelnytsky Innovative Terminal, launched on May 17, 2019, processed 6.8 million shipments, the release said.
Nova Poshta has launched a pilot project for waste collection and sorting in ten Kyiv offices and is planning to extend it all over its chain, Director of Nova Poshta Oleksandr Bulba has told Interfax-Ukraine.
“In mid-April we started a pilot project for waste collection and sorting in our offices for all clients of the company. Ten our departments Kyiv are participating in the project. Three boxes are installed in each of them. The first one is for paper, cardboard, and paper packing material. The second one is for transparent stretch film and bubble film. And the third one is for plastic bags and colored stretch film. We pass raw materials to our contractors for recycling and they make new products of it,” he said.
Bulba added that the company collected around two tonnes of waste materials over months, 80% of which is corrugated cardboard.
“We are planning to extend this project all over Ukraine,” he said.
The Nova Poshta Group in January-May 2019 opened over 700 new depots, including 573 in small localities, Nova Poshta Director Oleksandr Bulba said at a briefing at Dunapack Ukraine plant (Oleshky, Kherson region) on Tuesday.
The number of depots of the company increased to 3,400.
In January-May, the company delivered over 81 million parcels, which is 23% more than during the same period last year. At the same time, 67 million parcels were delivered in depot-depot mode. At the same time, door-to-door delivery for this period also increased by 34%.
In addition, in five months, Nova Poshta delivered more than 1 million parcels from abroad. Shipping from the United States and Europe grew by 27%.
“We plan to develop international delivery further,” Bulba said.
According to the press release of the company spread at the briefing, the foreign representative offices of Nova Poshta in Georgia and Moldova are also actively developing: in Moldova, the number of shipments in January-May doubled compared with the same period last year, and in Georgia it grew by 30%.
The average NPS (Net Promoter Score) in Ukraine at the end of May was 78%.
In the first five months of 2019, the Nova Poshta Group transferred more than UAH 1.75 billion of taxes and duties to the budget of Ukraine.
Nova Poshta International, part of Nova Poshta, has resumed delivery from the online retailer of cosmetics and perfumery iHerb (the United States), according to the company’s website. Clients of the company will be able to pick up their orders in the offices of Nova Poshta, in automated parcel terminals, or choose courier delivery. The delivery time is 7-10 days.

The Nova Poshta Group delivered 174 million parcels in 2018, which is almost 20% more than in 2017.
Co-owner of the company Volodymyr Popereshniuk said at a press conference late on Tuesday, in 2019, the company also seeks to achieve 20% growth in the number of deliveries.
The company also said that the number of items generated by business customers grew by 25% over the year, and online stores registered 36 million parcels in a year.
In 2018, Nova Poshta delivered 2.7 million international shipments, while the growth in deliveries from the United States doubled, and from Europe it increased by 3.5 times.
“In 2018, we opened about 350 new branches and installed more than 200 pick-up and drop-off points, which work not only in our branches, but also in the Epicenter, Lotok, Auchan and Leroy Merlin retail networks. We have grown to almost 3,000 points of presence and we will expand the network in small towns,” Director of Nova Poshta Oleksandr Bulba said.
He also said that the average speed of delivery of a parcel was reduced by 50 minutes.
In addition, in 2018, Nova Poshta transferred over UAH 3 billion in taxes and fees to the budget of all levels, which is 43% more than in 2017.
As reported, Nova Poshta in 2017 delivered 145.8 million parcels, which is almost 30% more than in 2016.

NP Logistic, part of the Nova Poshta Group, has signed a contract on the provision of logistic services to the Swedish furniture and home accessories retailer IKEA, planning to open its first store in Ukraine in 2019.
The press service of Nova Poshta reported on Wednesday that the company will provide storage and order completion services for the first IKEA city store in Kyiv.
“We are glad that IKEA selected us. This would allow uniting prime standards of fulfillment and delivery with the furniture retail,” the co-owner of Nova Poshta, Viacheslav Klymov, said.
NP Logistic’s core business is fulfillment: storage of goods at warehouses, online order completion and delivering them to customers.
As reported, in September 2018, IKEA officially announced that the group plans to open a first city store in Ukraine in 2019 in the Ocean Mall in Kyiv.
