NPC Ukrenergo put into operation one of the 330 kV high-voltage transmission lines in the south of Ukraine, which made it possible to improve the output of generation power, including nuclear and thermal.
“Today, one of the 330 kV high-voltage lines in the south of Ukraine was put into operation. This made it possible to improve the power output of a number of power plants, including thermal and nuclear ones. Thus, now all nuclear power plants are working stably in the network, as well as plants of other types – thermal power plants, hydroelectric power plants and renewable energy sources,” Ukrenergo noted on its Telegram channel on Thursday evening.

Doctors from the Adonis medical group have performed a unique operation to form a neovagina for a foreign patient.
The clinic told Interfax-Ukraine the foreign patient came to the medical center with a congenital malformation of the intestines and pelvic organs.
Before contacting the Adonis medical group for an operation to create a neovagina, the patient underwent about ten reconstructive surgeries in various clinics of the countries of the former USSR, where, as a result, by a council of leading medical centers, she was denied an operation to form a neovagina. In addition, among the 13 clinics in Turkey, to which the patient applied, only one agreed to consider the possibility of such an operation.
“The complexity of the operation was the extremely high risk of injury to the intestines and urinary tract during the operation, as well as the possibility of lining the neovaginal tunnel with the patient’s own tissues. At the same time, after weighing all the risks, we successfully performed the operation,” the leading specialist in laparoscopic and minimally invasive interventions at Adonis, gynecologist-surgeon Dmytro Nikolayev said.
Currently, the patient has been discharged and has flown to her homeland.
Adonis is a network of private full-cycle medical centers for adults and children.
The private clinic Adonis was founded over 20 years ago. The network includes 11 branches in Kyiv and the region, including two of its own maternity hospitals and a stem cell laboratory. The clinic has 66 medical specialties.

Minister of Infrastructure Vladyslav Krykliy noted that the new runway of Odesa airport is 2,800 meters in length and 45 meters in width. The new airfield will allow to accommodate airplanes in category D designated for mid- and long-duration flights, in particular, Boeing-747-400/800, in category III ICAO and other aircraft with a capacity up to 300 passengers. The overall cost of the aerodrome reconstruction project totals UAH 3.9 billion.
The minister added that the new runway will allow Odesa airport to receive more than 2 million passengers a year, a new taxi strip, when constructed, to receive more than 5 million.
Zelensky inquired if there was a passenger demand for the construction of a new airport strip.

State-owned enterprise (SOE) Pivdenne Design Bureau (Yuzhnoye, Dnipro) has put the Yuzhnoye computer center with the most powerful super computer in Ukraine into operation, the press service of the bureau reported. According to the report, the unique computer was developed specially for solving of engineering and scientific tasks using methods of computational physics in cooperation with MTI, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, APC and ANSYS.
“Reliable and smooth functioning of the computer center is guaranteed by the developed engineer and computer infrastructure and effective tasks solution is guaranteed by the most advanced software, which is used for simulation in such fields as aerodynamics, mechanics, heat exchange and physics,” the press service said.
The bureau said that the high-performance system of super computer contains a hundred of servers and approximately 4,000 of computational cores and newest architecture processors. The general size of random access memory is approximately 18 terabytes, as well as storage for data with a size of 200 terabytes is available. All super computer components are connected using special high speed computer network. Moreover, the system is equipped with a hybrid computing servers with new graphic accelerators and separate modules for processing and visualization of big calculation data.
The peak performance of super computer is 300 teraflops (Trillion Floating-Point Operations per Second) and this can be compared with the power of 1,000 of personal computers operating simultaneously, the press service said.
The access to such computer power will allow the Pivdenne Design Bureau’s specialists to study hundreds of technical solutions and implement the most optimal and effective ones, it will also enhance possibilities for implementation of new and non-standard ideas, the press service said.
The Pivdenne Design Bureau is a leading research center of Ukraine and a holder of advanced space technologies, many of whose products and services are exported to the EU, the United States, and other countries.

Hungary’s low cost airline Wizz Air plans to resume operations of the Ukrainian subsidiary – Wizz Air Ukraine – in 2019, the airline has reported. Wizz Air Ukraine has the goal of obtaining the license of the Ukrainian operator in 2019, the airline said. After a meeting of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Wizz Air CEO József Váradi the sides have achieved the accord regarding the fact that the resumption of operations of Wizz Air Ukraine would contribute the development of the Ukrainian aviation sector, offering fares for trips effective from the point of view of the expenses and quality ratio.
Váradi said that in confirmation of the airline’s commitment to Ukraine and in response to high consumer demand, Wizz is ready to significantly increase its investment in the country in the near future. In particular, this is the resumption of the operation of its Ukrainian subsidiary – Wizz Air Ukraine. Here the airline is counting on the necessary support from representatives of the Ukrainian government, he said.
The airline plans to invest $2.5 billion to increase the Ukrainian fleet to 20 new Airbus A320 and Airbus A321 planes.
“These aircraft will be delivered to the base of the airline in Kyiv and other regions of Ukraine. As a result, the planned volume of transported passengers will be 6 million per year by 2025,” Wizz Air said.
According to the management of the airline, the resumption of operations of Wizz Air Ukraine will create about 6,000 local jobs both in direct and related industries. It will stimulate a significant development of Ukrainian tourism and services.
At the same time, the airline said that the resumption of flights of Wizz Air Ukraine will expand the network of its low-cost routes to/from Ukraine.
Wizz Air closed its Ukrainian subsidiary Wizz Air Ukraine in 2015, continuing the service of flights from the country by the Hungarian airline. The top managers of the airline explained the decision to close the Ukrainian subsidiary by the unstable situation in the east of Ukraine and the devaluation of the hryvnia. Later, the airline several times announced the possibility of resuming its subsidiary after stabilization of the situation and in the event of an increase in demand for air transportation in the country.
As reported, Irish low cost carrier Ryanair plans to open five new flights from Ukraine in 2019, and to invest $1.5 billion in Ukraine over three to five years, increasing the fleet to 15 aircraft and passenger traffic to 5 million people.
Wizz Air offers flights on 41 routes to 12 countries from three Ukrainian cities – Kyiv, Lviv and Kharkiv.
