SIKORSKY KYIV INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT SEES 16% RISE IN PASSENGER TRAFFIC IN JAN-JUNE

The Sikorsky Kyiv International Airport in January-June 2019 serviced 1.332 million passengers, which is 16% more than a year ago. The airport said that the number of passengers serviced on international flights totaled 1.298 million, and on domestic flights – 33,900.
At the same time, the number of serviced flights amounted to 14,271 (arrivals and departures), which is 5.6% more than in January-June 2018, including 11,966 international flights, and 2,305 domestic flights.
The most popular international destinations at the airport in January-June 2019 were Sharm el-Sheikh (Egypt), Warsaw (Poland), Minsk (Belarus), Ankara (Turkey), Vienna (Austria), Berlin (Germany); domestic – Odesa, Zaporizhia and Lviv.
At the same time, in June 2019, the airport serviced 248,500 passengers, which is 14.8% less than in June 2018. The number of passengers serviced on international flights amounted to 241,800, on domestic flights – 6,700 passengers.
The number of serviced flights in June 2019 amounted to 2,691 (arrivals and departures), which is 9.9% less than the same period of 2018.
The press service of the airport told Interfax-Ukraine, the decline in passenger traffic was mainly due to the relocation of SkyUp Airlines.

KHARKIV AIRPORT RAISES PASSENGER TRAFFIC

Passenger traffic at Kharkiv International Airport in January-June 2019 amounted to 552,600 people, which is 26% more than in the same period of 2018.
According to the airport’s Facebook page, almost 2,500 departures from the airport were made in the six months.
In June 2019, some 124,400 people used the airport’s services, which is 9% more than in June 2018.
The most popular destinations in June of this year were Antalya, Kyiv, Istanbul, Sharm el-Sheikh, and Vienna.
As reported, passenger traffic at Kharkiv airport in 2018 was 962,500 people, which is 19% more than in 2017.

LVIV AIRPORT RAISES PASSENGER TRAFFIC BY 50%

Passenger traffic at Lviv International Airport amounted to 197,700 people in May 2019, which is 49.4% more than in the same period of 2018, the airport said on Facebook.
The number of serviced flights last month increased by 32.1%, to 1,739. Some 1,506 passengers were transported on international flights (up by 36.7%), while 233,000 people (a growth of 8.9%) on domestic flights.
In January-May 2019, some 722,300 passengers travelled through the airport, which is 51.2% more than in the same period of 2018.
The number of flights in January-May reached 6,820, which is 28.9% more than in January-May last year.
As reported, in 2018 the airport increased passenger traffic by 48% compared with 2017, to 1.598 million people.

KYIV SIKORSKY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT INCREASES PASSENGER TRAFFIC BY 44% IN Q1

Kyiv Sikorsky International Airport in January-March 2019 served 638,100 passengers, which is 44.3% more than in the same period of 2018.
According to statistics released by the airport’s press service, the number of passengers served on international flights in the first quarter was 622,300, and on domestic flights some 15,800.
At the same time, the number of flights amounted to 6,669 on arrival/departure, which is 21.3% more than in the same period in 2018, including 5,624 international flights, and 1,045 domestic flights.
The most popular international destinations at the airport in January-March 2019 were Sharm el Sheikh (Egypt), Warsaw (Poland), Minsk (Belarus), Ankara (Turkey), Vienna (Austria), Berlin (Germany), Budapest (Hungary), internal – Odesa, Zaporizhia, and Lviv.

LVIV INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT INCREASES PASSENGER TRAFFIC BY 59% IN MARCH

Lviv International Airport in March 2019 increased passenger traffic by 59.2% compared to March 2018, to 133,900 people, according to the official page of the airport on Facebook. At the same time, the number of serviced flights last month increased by 31.3%, to 1,292. Some 119,100 passengers were transported on international flights (a growth by 70.4%), and 14,800 people on domestic flights (an increase by 4.2%).
In the first quarter of 2019, some 369,400 passengers (328,800 on international and 40,600 on domestic flights) travelled through the airport, which is 53.5% more than in the same period of 2018.
The number of flights in January-March reached 3,606 (3,053 international and 553 domestic), which is 26.7% more than in January-March last year.
As reported, in 2018 passenger traffic rose by 48% compared with 2017, to 1.598 million people.

HUNGARIAN LOW-COST AIRLINE WIZZ AIR DOUBLES PASSENGER TRAFFIC IN UKRAINE IN 2019

The Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air in January-February 2019 carried more than 300,000 passengers on its flights to/from Ukraine, which is 94% more compared to the same period in 2018, the company has said in connection with placing the fourth aircraft at the base in Kyiv and the launch of four new flights from Ukraine.
“As a result of the growing demand among Ukrainian passengers … the airline offers 44 routes to 13 countries from three Ukrainian airports: Kyiv, Lviv, and Kharkiv,” the company said.
According to the booking system, the matter concerns 28 flights from Kyiv, ten from Lviv, six from Kharkiv. In particular, on March 1-3 Wizz Air began operating flights from Kyiv to Bremen, Billund (Denmark), and Riga, and from Lviv to Copenhagen.
According to the company, the deployment of the fourth Airbus A320 aircraft in Ukraine increases the total investment in the country to more than $400 million, as well as the number of jobs created to 140.
