UKRAINE RAISES UP PETROLEUM PRODUCTS IMPORTS BY 9.6% IN 2021

Ukraine in 2021 imported 8.791 million tonnes of oil products (according to foreign economic activity code 2710: gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, jet fuel, etc.), which is 9.6% more than in 2020 (8.023 million tonnes).
According to the State Customs Service, oil products were imported in the amount of $5.615 billion, which is 65.3% more than in 2020 ($3.397 billion).
Belarus supplied fuel for $2.351 billion (share – 41.87%), Russia – for $1.241 billion (22.09%), Lithuania – for $654.584 million (11.66%), other countries – for $1.369 billion (24.37%).
In addition, Ukraine exported 308,716 tonnes (more 3.3% compared to 2020) of oil products for a total of $192.65 million (up 50.3%). The cost of fuel delivered to counterparties from Latvia amounted to $36.779 million, Estonia – $32.636 million, Malta – $18.81 million, other countries – $104.425 million.

UKRAINE IMPORTED PETROLEUM PRODUCTS WORTH $2.6 BLN IN JAN-JULY

In January-July 2020, Ukraine imported 4.5 million tonnes of petroleum products (according to FEACN code 2710: gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, jet fuel, etc.), which is 3.1% more than in the same period last year (4.4 million tonnes).
According to the State Customs Service, oil products were imported in the amount of $2.6 billion, which is 34.7% more than in January-July 2020 ($2 billion).
Fuel was imported from Belarus for $1.1 billion (share – 43.05%), Russia – for $616.3 million (23.9%), Lithuania – for $315 million (12.22%), and other countries – for $537.3 million (20, 83%).
In addition, Ukraine exported 223,888 tonnes (plus 52.3% compared to January-July 2020) of oil products for a total of $116.22 million (plus 67.4%). The cost of fuel delivered to counterparties from Latvia amounted to $24.7 million, Malta – $17.2 million, Turkey – $13.7 million, and other countries – $60.6 million.

UKRAINE INCREASES IMPORTS OF PETROLEUM IN JAN-MARCH FROM BELARUS WORTH $416 MLN AND RUSSIA WORTH $283

Ukraine in January-March 2021 imported 1.812 million tonnes of petroleum products (according to foreign economic activity code 2710: petrol, diesel fuel, fuel oil, jet fuel, etc.), which is 10.4% more year-over-year (1.642 million tonnes). According to the State Customs Service, petroleum products were imported to the tune of $894.99 million, which is 8.2% less than in January-March 2020 ($ 975.061 million).
Fuel was imported from Belarus for $416.163 million (the share is 46.5%), Russia for $283.626 million (31.69%), Lithuania for $85.767 million (9.58%), other countries for $109.434 million (12.23%).
In addition, Ukraine exported 113,426 tonnes (49.4% compared to January-March 2020) of petroleum products for a total of $53.49 million (17.4%). The cost of fuel delivered to counterparties from Turkey amounted to $12.338 million, the Czech Republic some $11.778 million, Latvia some $10.936 million and other countries to $18.438 million.

UKRAINE RAISES OIL IMPORTS BY 1.7 TIMES IN 2021

Ukraine in January-March 2021 increased the import of oil and petroleum raw materials (according to foreign economic activity code 2709) by 1.7 times (by 124,640 tonnes) compared to the same period in 2020, to 305,313 tonnes.
According to the State Customs Service, raw materials for $110.084 million were imported over three months, which is 10.4% more than in January-March 2020 ($99.746 million).
The entire volume of oil came from Azerbaijan.
Ukraine did not export oil in January-March 2020 and 2021.

UKRAINE AND QATAR PETROLEUM SIGN MEMO ON ENERGY COOPERATION

The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine and Qatar Petroleum, the state-owned oil and gas company of Qatar, have signed a memorandum of understanding on energy cooperation, the press service of the Ministry of Energy said.
On the part of Ukraine, the document was signed by acting Minister of Energy Yuriy Vitrenko, for Qatar – President and CEO of Qatar Petroleum, Minister of State for Energy Affairs Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi.
“Cooperation in the oil and gas sector of Ukraine and Qatar is promising and important for our country. Qatar is one of the largest gas producers in the world and has valuable experience and significant financial resources for investments in the exploration and production of gas in Ukraine,” Vitrenko, who is currently on a visit to the capital of Qatar, Doha, as part of the Ukrainian delegation led by the president of Ukraine, said.
In addition, according to him, cooperation with Qatar is of fundamental importance for Kyiv from the point of view of diversifying sources of gas supplies to Ukraine.
In accordance with the memorandum, the states intend to develop cooperation, in particular in the areas of investments from Qatar in the exploration and production of gas in Ukraine, as well as gas supplies (liquefied natural gas) from Qatar to Ukraine.
The memorandum will be valid for three years and can be automatically renewed for the same period.

UKRAINE CUTS IMPORTS OF PETROLEUM PRODUCTS BY 4.8% IN 2020

Ukraine in 2020 imported 8.023 million tonnes of petroleum products (according to foreign trade activity code 2710, petrol, diesel fuel, fuel oil, jet fuel, etc.), which is 4.8% less than in the same period of 2019.
According to the State Fiscal Service, petroleum products were imported in the amount of $3.397 billion, which is 36.1% less than in 2019.
Fuel imports from Russia amounted to $1.227 billion (a share of 36.13%), Belarus to $1.217 billion (35.81%), Lithuania to $395.84 million (11.65%), from other countries to $557.174 million (16.4%).
In addition, in 2020, Ukraine exported 298,745 tonnes (43.9% less compared to 2019) of petroleum products for a total amount of $128.205 million (52% less). The cost of fuel delivered to contractors from Latvia amounted to $25.809 million, Hungary some $10.559 million, Romania some $10.029 million, and from other countries some $81.808 million.
