ZELENSKY DISCUSSED ANTI-RUSSIAN SANCTIONS AND SUPPORT FOR UKRAINE WITH GERMAN CHANCELLOR SCHOLZ

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a telephone conversation with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz discussed, in particular, anti-Russian sanctions, defense and financial support for Ukraine.
“Had a phone call with @OlafScholz. They stressed that all those responsible for war crimes must be identified and punished. We discussed anti-Russian sanctions, defense and financial support for Ukraine,” Zelensky tweeted.

SCHOLZ AND ERDOGAN DISCUSSED SITUATION IN UKRAINE

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz discussed bilateral relations between the countries and Russia’s military aggression in Ukraine in a telephone conversation, the Anadolu agency reported on Monday.
“The Turkish President, in a conversation with the German Chancellor, noted the importance of strengthening relations between Turkey and Germany, supporting close cooperation at all levels,” the agency reports.
Erdogan also stressed Turkey’s efforts to de-escalate the situation in Ukraine due to the war unleashed by Russia. The President of Turkey has repeatedly taken the initiative to organize negotiations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky on Turkish territory, and also noted that Turkey will be ready in the future to act as one of the guarantors of Ukraine’s security, but this issue needs to be studied in more detail.

CHANCELLOR SCHOLZ PROMISED NEW SANCTIONS AGAINST RUSSIA

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz promised that EU countries would impose new sanctions on Russia.
“In the coming days, we will take new measures,” he said on Sunday in Berlin.
According to him, the Russian president and those who support him will “feel the consequences” of these sanctions.

CHANCELLOR SCHOLZ: GERMANY WILL PROVIDE QUICK ASSISTANCE TO UKRAINIANS

All federal states of Germany will provide quick assistance to Ukrainians who are fleeing the war, and its procedure will be simple, Chancellor Olaf Scholz said.
“Overcoming this challenge is the common task of our entire state,” he tweeted on Wednesday evening.
Scholz thanked the many volunteers whose “tireless efforts allow us to help people fleeing the terrible war in Ukraine.”
The German chancellor also said that it is completely unacceptable when immigrants from Russia are insulted or even subjected to physical attack.
“Because this is Putin’s war. He, and only he, is responsible for this,” Scholz stressed.

PRESIDENT OF UKRAINE, SCHOLZ, MACRON DISCUSS PROSPECTS FOR PEACE TALKS

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky spoke with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron and discussed the prospects for peace talks and confronting the Russian aggressor.

“Spoke with Olaf Scholz, Emmanuel Macron. We discussed countering the aggressor, Russia’s crimes against civilians. I ask my partners to help in releasing the captive mayor of Melitopol. Prospects for peace talks also discussed. We must stop the aggressor together,” Zelensky said.

SCHOLZ AND UKRAINIAN PRESIDENT TO SYNCHRONIZE POSITIONS WITH WHICH GERMAN CHANCELLOR TO GO TO RUSSIA

Ukraine does not have too high expectations from the visit of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to Ukraine, but this will be the first long substantive conversation between the German Chancellor and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, where they synchronize their positions, with which the Chancellor will go to Moscow, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba has said.
“We are positive about the fact that Chancellor Scholz will visit Kyiv first, before visiting Moscow. We do not have any too high expectations, but this will be the first long substantive conversation between the German Chancellor and the President of Ukraine, where they really synchronize their position with which the chancellor will go to Moscow,” Kuleba said at a press conference in Kharkiv on Friday, answering a question from Interfax-Ukraine.
He stressed that Scholz’s visit to Ukraine is extremely important. “We hope that it [the visit] will exceed our expectations,” Kuleba added.
