The cargo ship VYSSOS, which struck a sea mine near the mouth of the Bystre River in December 2023 while en route to Izmail, has been put up for sale via the OpenMarket electronic auction platform operated by the state-owned enterprise SETAM. The starting price for the lot is 40,175,550 UAH.
According to the auction’s official website, bidding is scheduled for October 8, 2026. The bidding increment is 401,755.50 UAH, and the security deposit is 2,008,777.50 UAH. The property is located in the Odesa region.
The vessel VYSSOS sailed under the Panamanian flag and was built on January 30, 2007. It is 103.63 m long, 18.60 m wide, and has the international IMO number 9385790. The lot is registered in the system under number 605931.
The VYSSOS is a general cargo ship. Following a technical inspection, repairs, and the renewal of the necessary documents and certificates, it could potentially be used to transport metal products, construction materials, equipment, and cargo in bags, containers, and on pallets.
The vessel’s history is tied to the Ukrainian Danube region. In late December 2023, the VYSSOS was heading to the port of Izmail to load grain when it struck a mine near the entrance to the Bystre estuary. As a result of the explosion, the vessel lost propulsion and steering, and the captain ran it aground to prevent it from sinking. Subsequently, tugboats helped tow the vessel to port.
