Alexander Usyk Has Vacated All His Heavyweight Titles

Reigning unified world boxing champion Alexander Usyk will vacate all his heavyweight titles. He announced this on his Instagram page.

Usyk stated that he is giving up all his championship belts—“to make them available to other boxers.” The Ukrainian boxer noted that the decision to relinquish his titles is a conscious one and opens up new opportunities for him.

“I want to vacate all the belts I hold today so that the guys waiting in line for them can fight. Friends, I’m giving up the belts, but I’m not leaving the sport, because I have one last dance,” he said in a video message.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko Awarded Title of Honorary Citizen of Warsaw

The authorities of the capital of Poland have awarded the mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, the title of honorary citizen of Warsaw, the Kyiv city state administration reported.
The ceremony took place at a solemn meeting of the Warsaw City Council, which takes place every year on July 31, the day of the Warsaw Uprising, according to the press service on the City Hall website.
The mayor of Kyiv recorded a video message to his Polish colleagues and friends and thanked them for their help and support. He noted that Ukrainians today are defending not only their independence and European choice, but also democracy, stability and security of all of Europe.
In turn, Warsaw Mayor Rafal Trzaskowski stressed that Poland would continue to help Ukraine. And both countries will remain free and independent states. “We are with you and you can always count on us!”, – stressed the mayor of the Polish capital.

UKRAINIAN BOXER VASYL LOMACHENKO WINS WBC TITLE IN LIGHTWEIGHT

Ukrainian Vasyl Lomachenko has won the championship belt according to the World Boxing Council (WBC) in lightweight.
In a world title shot, he defeated the Briton Luke Campbell. The Ukrainian was awarded by a decision of the judges.
Now Lomachenko owns three championship belts – WBC, the World Boxing Association (WBA) and the World Boxing Organization WBO.
