Initial registrations of new and imported used buses (including minibuses) in Ukraine in June 2026 rose by 19% compared to the same month in 2025—to 183 units, according to a report by Ukravtoprom on its Telegram channel.
At the same time, compared to May of this year, demand for buses fell by 16%.
According to Ukravtoprom, the share of new vehicles in total bus sales in June continued to decline, reaching only 28%, compared to 48% last year and 31% in May of this year.
Last month, the most frequently registered new buses were Ataman models from the Cherkasy Bus plant (12 units), Ford (12 units), and ZAZ (11 units).
Among used buses, the top three were Mercedes-Benz (66 units), Volkswagen (12 units), and Van Hool (11 units).
In total, during the first half of 2026, Ukraine’s bus fleet was expanded by 1,230 buses (+4% compared to the same period in 2025). Of these: new buses – 500 units (-6%); used buses – 730 units (+12%).
As reported, citing data from “Ukravtoprom,” Ukraine’s bus fleet was expanded by 2,700 buses in 2025—21% more than in 2024—including 1,343 new buses (+4%) and 1,364 imported used buses (+44%).
In the first half of this year, 15,221 thousand electric vehicles (new and used) were added to Ukraine’s vehicle fleet, which is half the number registered during the same period last year, according to a report by “Ukravtoprom” on its Telegram channel.
As usual, passenger cars accounted for the majority of registered electric vehicles—14,404 thousand—but their registrations fell by 53%, while demand for commercial electric vehicles dropped by 17% to 817 units.
New vehicles accounted for 19% of BEV registrations, compared to 18% last year.
The most popular new electric vehicles in January–June were the BYD Leopard 3 (421 units), the BYD Sea Lion 06 (359 units), the Zeekr 7X (229 units), the Volkswagen ID.Unyx (203 units), and the Zeekr 7X (172 units).
Among used vehicles, the most frequently registered for the first time were the Nissan Leaf (1,592 units), the Tesla Model Y (1,468 units), the Tesla Model 3 (1,355 units), the Chevrolet Bolt (613 units), and the Renault Zoe (553 units).
As previously reported, Ukraine’s vehicle fleet grew by 110,200 electric vehicles in 2025—twice as many as the previous year. New vehicles accounted for 20% of the total, compared to 24% in 2024.
In particular, in December—the last month during which electric vehicles could be cleared through customs without VAT—demand for them increased 8.6-fold compared to December 2024, reaching 32,800 units.

JSC “Ukrposhta” expects to raise more than 22 million UAH from the sale of decommissioned vehicles to modernize the company’s fleet.
“Every rusty UAZ sold is a direct contribution to new long-haul vehicles, modern logistics, delivery speed, and the company’s ability to operate even when the enemy is trying to destroy the infrastructure,” Ukrposhta CEO Ihor Smilianskyi is quoted as saying in the press release.
According to him, since the start of the full-scale invasion, “Ukrposhta” has lost 426 vehicles due to shelling and the temporary occupation of territories.
It is noted that during two phases of open auctions conducted through the “Prozorro.Sales” system, the postal operator sold over 1,000 vehicles. Specifically, during the first phase, 716 vehicles were sold, bringing the company approximately 9 million UAH.
“During the second phase, another 316 vehicles were put up for auction. Forty-two auctions have already taken place, and two more are in the final stages, specifically in the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions,” the press release states.
Ukrposhta noted that over 600 participants took part in the auctions, which made it possible to nearly double the final value of the lots from 7.7 million hryvnias to a projected 13.7 million hryvnias.
“The most expensive lot in the second stage was the Kyiv lot consisting of 23 Soviet-era vehicles, which sold for 916 thousand UAH. The least expensive was a Mazda 6 for 44 thousand UAH,” the company emphasized.
Separately, the national postal operator noted that it had completed 100% automation of its sorting processes and expanded its fleet with 160 new MAN and IVECO trucks.
The state-owned “Ukrposhta” reported a total profit of 106.3 million UAH for January–April, with EBITDA of 122.9 million UAH. The company’s equity reached 2.3 billion UAH without additional budgetary funding.
In January–March 2026, the company reported a net loss of 204.8 million UAH, which is 1.1 million UAH, or 0.5%, higher than in the same period of 2025, while its revenue grew by 1.1% to 13 billion 118.42 billion UAH.

In April, 3,007 electric vehicles (new and used) were added to Ukraine’s vehicle fleet, which is 48% less than in April 2025 but 49% more than in March of this year, Ukravtoprom reported on its Telegram channel.
The majority of electric vehicles registered during the month were passenger cars—2,837 units (of which 536 were new and 2,301 were used), while only nine of the 170 commercial electric vehicles were new.
The most popular new electric vehicles in March were the BYD Leopard 3 – 96 units (34 units in March 2026); BYD Sea Lion 06 – 73 units (30 units); MG 4 EV – 38 units (not in the top five); Volkswagen ID.UNYX – 36 units (21 units) and Zeekr 001 – 33 units (30 units).
Among used vehicles, the most frequently registered for the first time were the Nissan Leaf – 345 units (226 units in March of this year); Tesla Model Y – 283 units (212 units); Tesla Model 3 – 265 units (210 units); Renault Zoe – 120 units (101 units) and Chevrolet Bolt – 117 units.
As reported, electric vehicles are gradually seeing a resurgence in demand and slowing the rate of decline compared to the same periods last year following a slump at the beginning of this year, particularly amid rising fuel prices (gasoline and diesel) at gas stations.

On April 18, the State Protection Department (UDO) of Ukraine announced a tender for the purchase of voluntary motor vehicle insurance (CASCO), according to the Prozorro electronic public procurement system.
The expected cost of the services is UAH 2.653 million. No bid security is required.
The deadline for submitting bids is April 28.
The winner of a similar tender a year earlier was Ultra Alliance Insurance Company.
