ANDREY SHEVCHENKO ANNOUNCES EXPIRATION OF 5-YEAR CONTRACT WITH UKRAINIAN FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION

Head coach of the Ukrainian national football team Andrey Shevchenko announced the expiration of a five-year contract with the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) and his resignation.
“Today my contract with the Ukrainian Football Association expired, I spent five years with the main team of the country,” Shevchenko said on his Facebook page on Sunday.
He thanked the UAF President and the Executive Committee for working with the Ukrainian national team.
“I am grateful to every player, every person who helped and was involved in the team. Many thanks to all fans for their support and criticism. Together we managed to show that our football can be competitive, productive and interesting,” Shevchenko said.
As reported, Shevchenko became the mentor of the national team in 2016, when his candidacy was unanimously supported at a meeting on Friday by the Executive Committee of the Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU). The contract with Shevchenko was signed for two years with the possibility of extension for another two years.
In July 2012, Shevchenko announced the end of his football career. In November of the same year, then FFU President Anatoliy Konkov offered Shevchenko to become the head coach of the Ukrainian national team, but he refused.
In March 2015, Shevchenko received a coaching license of the highest category – “PRO” – a UEFA diploma, which gives the right to work as the head coach of a club or national team. In mid-April 2015, by decision of the FFU Executive Committee, he became one of the three first deputy heads of the FFU Committee of National Teams. On February 16, 2016, Shevchenko became an assistant to the head coach of the Ukrainian national team, Mykhailo Fomenko.

UKRAINIAN FOOTBALL TEAM BEATS SWEDEN AND REACH QUARTER-FINALS OF EUROPEAN FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

The Ukrainian national football team beat the Swedish national football team with a score of 2:1, reaching quarter-finals of the European Football Championship 2020.
The Ukrainian national football team beat the Swedish national football team with a score of 2:1 and advanced to quarter-finals of the European Football Championship, where it will play against the England national football team, which beat Germany on Tuesday. The match will take place in Rome.
The Ukraine-Sweden match took place on Tuesday June 29 in Glasgow, Scotland.
The Ukrainians opened the scoring in the 27th minute. Oleksandr Zinchenko scored on a pass of Andriy Yarmolenko. In the 43rd minute, Emil Forsberg equalized the score.
The winning goal was scored by Artem Dovbyk, it was his first goal for the national team a few minutes before the end of extra time.

UKRAINIAN FOOTBALL TEAM BEATS NORTH MACEDONIA

Ukrainian football players of the country’s national team beated North Macedonia. “Ukraine vs. North Macedonia – 2: 1! An intense matchup and such a necessary victory! Thanks for the real football thriller, thanks for the important three points! Glory to Ukraine!”, President of Ukraine Zelensky wrote on his Twitter page on Thursday.
The national team of Ukraine in the second match of the European Football Championship defeated the national team of North Macedonia with a score of 2:1.
The match took place in Bucharest.

DONETSK FOOTBALL CLUB SHAKHTAR DRAWS 0:0 TIE WITH INTER IN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Shakhtar Donetsk Football Club has played a 0-0 draw with Inter Milan in the second round of the Champions League group stage.
At the Olympiysky National Sports Complex (NSC) on Tuesday, the Ukrainian champion managed to keep his gates intact in the match against the team, to which he lost with a score of 0:5 in the semifinals of the Europa League in Dusseldorf, Germany, in the mid-August.
In the first round, Shakhtar beat Real Madrid with a score of 3:2, and after two rounds, the “miners” have four points and the first place in the group so far.

UKRAINIAN NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM LOSES TO GERMANY

The Ukrainian national football team lost with a score of 1:2 in Kyiv to the German team in the group four match of the elite division A of the UEFA Nations League.
In the 20th minute, the score was opened by the guest defender Mathias Ginter. At the start of the second half, Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka doubled Germany’s lead.

FOOTBALL MATCHES ALLOWED IN UKRAINIAN CAPITAL WITH PARTIAL INVOLVEMENT OF FANS

The city of Kyiv agreed with the proposal of the Ukrainian Association of Football (UAF) (UAF) regarding holding international matches under the auspices of UEFA with partial involvement of fans of up to 30% of the stadium capacity, the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration has reported.
According to the relevant excerpts from protocol No. 64 of the meeting of the emergency response team dated October 2, 2020, posted on the administration’s website, subject to strict observance of anti-epidemic requirements and rules, partial attraction of fans to the following matches is allowed:
– October 9 – Kyiv, Obolon Arena stadium – a match of the qualifying round of the European Championship among youth teams between the national teams of Ukraine and Romania;
– October 10 – Kyiv, Olympiysky stadium – the UEFA Nations League match between the national teams of Ukraine and Germany;
– 13 October – Kyiv, Olympiysky stadium – the UEFA Nations League match between the national teams of Ukraine and Spain.
