KHARKIV IT CLUSTER PREDICTS 25% INCREASE IN IT INDUSTRY IN REGION

Kharkiv IT Cluster predicts a 25% increase in the IT industry in the region by the end of 2019. “According to the dynamics of the last two years, in 2019 we expect growth in the industry in the region by at least 25% compared with the results of 2018,” Kharkiv IT Cluster CEO Olha Shapoval said, commenting on the results of Kharkiv IT Research 2.0.
According to Kharkiv IT Research 2.0, the demand for experts in the field of information technology in 2019 also exceeds the supply: the companies’ need for specialists is 1.5 times higher than the number of graduates (Kharkiv universities annually graduate more than 2,000 young specialists only in specialized fields).
The authors of the study noted the growing popularity of non-formal education, as well as the creation of corporate training centers within companies that are ready to invest in youth training.
According to the study, by the end of 2018 the IT industry in the region had about 480 service and product companies, and the number of IT specialists exceeded 31,000 people.
In general, according to Kharkiv IT Research 2.0, the IT industry in Kharkiv in quantitative terms grew by 24%, and the total volume reached $962 million in 2018, ensuring a growth of 20%.

LVIV IT CLUSTER LAUNCHES REGIONAL INVESTMENT FUND

Lviv IT Cluster, a community of the largest IT companies, will present the first regional investment fund Lviv Tech Angels in support of start-ups in Lviv on June 28.
The goal of the new investment project is to give an incentive for the development of IT business in Lviv and Ukraine, create favorable conditions for growth of companies, and build a strong start-up culture in Ukraine, Lviv IT Cluster said on its website.
“The club of investors will bring together top managers of Lviv IT companies who would select the best Ukrainian start-ups for investment, mentoring, and consulting. Intellias co-founder and СОО Mykhailo Puzrakov, Sigma Software co-founder Volodymyr Chyrva, and N-iX CEO Andriy Pavlov are the initiators of the projects,” reads the statement.
As reported, Canada’s Brookfield & Partners headed a consortium of investors who joined a project to build the first stage of Innovation District IT Park in Lviv with gross area of 10 ha. The cost of the project is $160 million.
The IT Park will occupy 10 hectares between Stryiska, Chmoly, Luhanska and Kozelnytska Streets in Lviv. The construction of the first stage of the IT Park will last about 2.5 years, which will cover about 90% of the entire project, and the first round of investment will reach $95 million. The second stage of the IT Park provides for the construction of business centers and will last about five or six years.
Six eight-storey Class A office buildings, three business centers, a hotel (5,700 square meters, 150-200 rooms), a kindergarten (2,000 square meters), a university (6,000 square meters), a health club, and a parking lot for 3,167 cars are to be built under the project.
Lviv IT Cluster plans to open modern IT labs there that will be available to IT students of all Lviv-based universities.

IT CLUSTER ABOUT TO LAUNCH FIRST STAGE OF IT PARK CONSTRUCTION

Lviv IT Cluster is about to launch the construction of the first stage of a 10-hectare Innovation District IT Park in Lviv, the press service of Lviv IT Cluster has reported.
“The tech industry has an urgent need for such a large-scale project as the Innovation District IT Park. Even before the construction of the facility, more than 60% of the area has been booked by IT companies,” head of the Lviv IT Cluster Supervisory Board and CEO of N-iX Andriy Pavlov has said in the report.
The construction project is estimated at US$160 million.
Volodymyr Zhenchak’s Gallery Center Ltd. is the developer and investor of the project, the press service said.
“We see this complex as a new, city-forming center in Lviv, a place for work, meet-ups, creativity, and a venue for family leisure on weekends. Close to it, there will be a ‘center of science for children and the youth’ and an entertainment promenade connected to Stryisky Park,” Zhenchak said.

In addition, Lviv IT Cluster plans to open modern IT labs there that will be available to IT students of all Lviv-based universities.

LVIV IT CLUSTER LAUNCHES PROJECT TO BUILD IT VILLAGE

Lviv IT Cluster, an association of IT companies, is launching a project to build an IT Village housing estate, designed for 133 private homes for IT specialists, IT Cluster’s press service has reported. “IT Village will become a new town for IT professionals and a community of people with common interests. The complex with a total area of 17 hectares will consist of 133 separate houses in the village of Nahoriany in Pustomyty district, 9 km from Lviv,” the report said.
Construction will start in August-September 2018, the whole project is to be completed in 2-2.5 years.
The project is non-commercial and offers IT professionals houses with an area of 140 square meters to 350 square meters and a cost from $89,700 to $276,500. Additional infrastructure of the town includes a common recreation area, a sports field for children, a private park, a kindergarten and a supermarket.
The general contractor of IT Village is Lvivbud construction company, which previously participated in the IT House project.
As reported, Lviv IT Cluster plans to build Innovation District IT Park between the streets Stryiska, Chmoly, Luhanska and Kozelnytska in Lviv. The project provides for six eight-storey office buildings and two business centers, as well as a hotel, a kindergarten, a university, a fitness complex and a parking lot for 3,167 cars. The total area of the site is 10 hectares, the area of offices is 82,300 square meters, the area of the retail and service area is 12,900 square meters.
