KHARKIV TRACTOR PLANT ENDS 2019 WITH PROFIT

According to preliminary data, JSC Kharkiv Tractor Plant, belonged to DCH Group of businessman Oleksandr Yaroslavsky, completed 2019 with a net profit of UAH 71.8 million, whereas the loss was UAH 81.4 million in 2018.
According to information on the agenda of the shareholders’ general meeting on April 23, the uncovered loss amounted to UAH 582.76 million by the beginning of 2019 (UAH 654.06 million in 2018).
The draft decision of the meeting provides for directing the net profit received in 2019 to replenish working assets, not to pay dividends.
According to the plant, in 2019, its current liabilities decreased 6.8%, to UAH 1.374 billion, long-term ones increased 45%, to UAH 266 million.
The total receivables as of January 1, 2020 amounted to UAH 155.4 million (UAH 96.71 million in 2019), total assets were UAH 1.280 billion (1.262 billion).
The plant’s equity capital has a negative value of UAH 362.75 million, charter capital was UAH 4.35 million by the beginning of 2020.
According to the plant’s website, it produced 585 units of equipment in 2019 (12% more than in 2018) and sold 638 units (16% more). The plant’s revenue increased by 22%, to almost UAH 800 million.
To date, the plant has about 1,100 employees; the average salary is UAH 10,000 (UAH 7,800 by the beginning of 2019).
Kharkiv Tractor Plant, founded in 1930, currently produces dozens of models of tractors and special-purpose equipment designed for work in agriculture, public utilities and construction areas. The main product range is represented by small tractors with a capacity of 35 hp, as well as large wheeled and tracked tractors with a capacity of 150-280 hp.

KHARKIV INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT SEES 55% RISE IN PASSENGER TRAFFIC IN JAN

The passenger flow at the Kharkiv International Airport in January 2020 grew by 55% year-over-year, to 111,600 people.
The airport said on its Facebook page, the total number of flights was 435.
The most popular destinations were Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt), Istanbul (Turkey), Boryspil (Kyiv), Krakow, Warsaw, Gdansk (all are Poland), Vienna (Austria), Wroclaw (Poland), Dortmund (Germany) and Prague (the Czech Republic).
As reported, the passenger flow of the Kharkiv International Airport in 2019 increased by 40% compared to the same period in 2018, to 1.3 million people.
Kharkiv airport has a runway 2500 meters long and 50 meters wide. Two passenger terminals with an hour capacity of 100 and 650 people are located on its territory.
The airport through New Systems AM is operated by DCH.

NOVA POSHTA TO LAUNCH KHARKIV SORTING CENTER IN SEPT 2020

The Nova Poshta group of companies plans to launch Kharkiv Sorting Center in September 2020, Volodymyr Popereshniuk, the co-owner of the company, has said.
“Construction is being carried out at the planned pace. Now 200 people are working on the site, construction work should be completed by May. Then we will begin the installation of equipment. The launch is in September 2020,” he wrote on his Facebook page.
Popereshniuk noted that the center will consist of two buildings. The first of them is designed for sorting, its capacity will be 20,000 shipments per hour, the second will be a cargo terminal with a planned capacity of 100 tonnes per hour. Cargo will be moved inside the facilities with the help of assistant robots.
As reported, in September 2019 Nova Poshta opened a two-hall innovative sorting terminal in Lviv.
In 2019, Nova Poshta, together with the transport airline Eleron, began a test implementation of the project for air delivery of shipments.
In 2019, the company delivered 212 million shipments, which is 22% more than in 2017.
Nova Poshta, founded in 2001, is the leader in the express delivery market in Ukraine. The company’s network consists of more than 6,000 branches throughout the country.

BELAVIA INCREASES NUMBER OF FLIGHTS BETWEEN KHARKIV AND MINSK

Belarusian Belavia airline from April 30, 2020 will increase the frequency of direct flights from/to Kharkiv to/from Minsk from five to seven a week.
According to a posting on the Facebook page of the Kharkiv airport, if flights between cities are currently operated on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, then from April 30 they will be operated daily. Flight time is 1 hour and 12 minutes.
The cost of a one-way ticket excluding baggage starts from $80.

SKYUP AIRLINES LAUNCHES FLIGHTS FROM KHARKIV TO BATUMI, BURGAS, TEL AVIV, TBILISI

SkyUp Airlines during the summer navigation schedule in March-June 2020 will launch flights from Kharkiv to Batumi, Tbilisi (both Georgia), Burgas (Bulgaria) and Tel Aviv (Israel).
According to the press service of the company, in particular, flights from Kharkiv to Batumi will start on May 29, 2020. They will be serviced on Tuesdays and Fridays. The price of the one way ticket starts from UAH 1,900 without baggage.
Flights from Kharkiv to Burgas are planned from June 2, 2020. They will be performed on Tuesdays. The price of the one way ticket starts from UAH 1,600 without baggage.
Flights from Kharkiv to Tel Aviv will be launched from March 29, 2020. They will be serviced on Thursdays and Sundays. The price of the one way ticket starts from UAH 2,400 without baggage.
Flights from Kharkiv to Tbilisi are also planned from March 29, 2020. They will be performed on Mondays and Thursdays. The price of the one way ticket starts from UAH 1,800 without baggage.
SkyUp Airlines LLC was registered in Kyiv in June 2016. The founder is ACS-Ukraine LLC of Tetiana and Yuriy Alba, who also own the JoinUp! tour operator.

KHARKIV IT CLUSTER PREDICTS 25% INCREASE IN IT INDUSTRY IN REGION

Kharkiv IT Cluster predicts a 25% increase in the IT industry in the region by the end of 2019. “According to the dynamics of the last two years, in 2019 we expect growth in the industry in the region by at least 25% compared with the results of 2018,” Kharkiv IT Cluster CEO Olha Shapoval said, commenting on the results of Kharkiv IT Research 2.0.
According to Kharkiv IT Research 2.0, the demand for experts in the field of information technology in 2019 also exceeds the supply: the companies’ need for specialists is 1.5 times higher than the number of graduates (Kharkiv universities annually graduate more than 2,000 young specialists only in specialized fields).
The authors of the study noted the growing popularity of non-formal education, as well as the creation of corporate training centers within companies that are ready to invest in youth training.
According to the study, by the end of 2018 the IT industry in the region had about 480 service and product companies, and the number of IT specialists exceeded 31,000 people.
In general, according to Kharkiv IT Research 2.0, the IT industry in Kharkiv in quantitative terms grew by 24%, and the total volume reached $962 million in 2018, ensuring a growth of 20%.
