In 2025, the state-owned enterprise Medical Procurement of Ukraine (MPU) purchased 866 items of medical goods for a total of UAH 15.7 billion from the budget, as well as 48 units of equipment for UAH 426 million from donors to the UNITED24 platform.
According to a press release from MZU, medical goods purchased with budget funds account for more than 97% of the quantities allocated by the Ministry of Health.
The amount of savings on purchases is UAH 1.7 billion.
In particular, the largest amount of state budget funds was spent on medicines and medical products for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases: 159 items were purchased for UAH 2.7 billion.
The Ministry of Health purchased 34 items of innovative medicines under managed access agreements (MAA) for UAH 2.4 billion.
The Ministry of Health purchased 220 items of drugs for the treatment of cancer for UAH 2.3 billion, 35 items for the treatment of hemophilia in adults and children for UAH 1.6 billion, and 130 items of medical products for blood donation for UAH 1.4 billion.
The MOH notes that 30 armored evacuation vehicles for military medics, four ambulances, and 11 X-ray machines were purchased for a total of UAH 426 million using funds from the UNITED24 fundraising platform.
In addition, the Ministry of Health reports that in 2025, through the Prozorro Market electronic catalog, the medical section of which is administered by the Ministry of Health, purchases were made by 2,874 hospitals that concluded more than 60,000 agreements worth more than UAH 21 billion, which is almost a third more than the amount of purchases using the e-catalog in 2024.
Over the past week, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine received 73 tonnes of medical supplies as humanitarian aid from charitable organizations, the press service of the Ministry of Health reported on Monday.
It is specified that over the past week, 16 tonnes of analgesics, 1.5 tonnes of antibacterial drugs, 16.5 tonnes of cancer drugs, 30 tonnes of dressings and other medical products, 8.5 tonnes of medicines for various purposes and 500 kg of corticosteroids have been received from various donors and charitable organizations.
In addition, charities donated five ambulances, 100 refrigerators, eight telemedicine systems, 10,700 personal first aid kits, 2,000 hemostatic agents to stop bleeding, 22,000 bandages and 8,500 tourniquets.
In China, the loading of another plane with medical supplies designed to combat the spread of COVID-19 in Ukraine has been completed, the Ukraine’s Embassy in China said.
“Today, on April 2, at the international airport in Xiamen (Fujian province), the loading of another plane with medical supplies for Ukraine has been completed. About 109 m3 of medical protective equipment for Ukrainian citizens were loaded on board the aircraft,” the Ukrainian Embassy in China said on Facebook on Thursday.
In addition, the preparation of several more aircraft with a similar mission is currently being agreed with the PRC authorities.
Ukrainian diplomats explained that the flight is carried out within the framework of an air bridge between Ukraine and China, which was built with the aim of delivering the most necessary medical supplies to Ukraine as quickly as possible to counter the spread of COVID-19.
The Embassy also provides support for this campaign in the PRC in cooperation with the Coordination Council on countering the spread of COVID-19 under the President of Ukraine and the Consulate General of Ukraine in Shanghai. The Ukrainian participants of the campaign are assisted in communication with Chinese partners.
