UKRAINE APPROVES AGREEMENT WITH PERU TO ABOLISH VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR SHORT STAYS

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved an agreement with the Government of the Republic of Peru to abolish visa requirements for short stays.
The relevant decision was made at the Wednesday government meeting.
This agreement was signed in Kyiv on July 15, 2021. The agreement provides for the abolition of visa requirements for the entry and stay of citizens of countries on the territory of the state of the other party for up to 90 days within 180 days.
For citizens of Ukraine, the possibility of visa-free tourist trips to Peru for up to 183 days will remain, which Peru introduced by a unilateral decision in 2003.

PERU AND UKRAINE SIGN VISA-FREE AGREEMENT

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and Peruvian Ambassador to Poland and Ukraine concurrently Alberto Efrain Wilfredo Salas Barahona signed an Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of Peru on the abolition of visa requirements for short-term stays.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the signing took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on Thursday, July 15.
Thus, the agreement introduces a mutual visa-free travel regime for citizens of Ukraine and Peru for up to 90 days within 180 days.
“Expansion of visa-free travel from Peru will increase the number of contacts between people, will contribute to new cultural, professional, business contacts between our countries,” Kuleba said.
The parties also discussed promising areas of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Peru.
The agreement will enter into force after the parties complete the necessary domestic procedures. For citizens of Ukraine, there will remain the possibility of visa-free tourist trips to Peru for up to 183 days, which the Republic of Peru introduced by a unilateral decision in 2003.

UKRAINIANS TO TRAVEL WITHOUT VISAS TO PERU, URUGUAY, COLOMBIA AND MEXICO SOON

Ukraine can conclude agreements on the abolition of visas with four Latin American countries in the near future, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has said.
“We are working to ensure that the geography of visa-free travel is extended for Ukrainians. Today, citizens of Ukraine can travel without visas to 85 countries of the world,” head of the Consular and Legal Affairs Department, Deputy Head of the Consular Service Department of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Serhiy Miniaylo said at the round table talk titled “Ukraine’s European Choice after the Revolution of Dignity: Opportunities and Problems” in Kyiv on Friday.
The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recalled that not long ago agreements were reached with the UAE and Qatar on simplifying the visa regime.
Minayylo said that there are prospects for concluding agreements on the abolition of visa obligations with Peru, Uruguay, Colombia and Mexico.
“The possibility of drawing up agreements on the abolition of the visa regime in the near future was discussed with the four countries of the region of [Latin America] in detail. These are Uruguay, Peru, and Colombia. There were substantive discussions in Mexico,” he explained.
