BUDGET OF KYIV FOR 2019 WILL BE UAH 53 BLN – VITALI KLITSCHKO

The budget of Kyiv for 2019 is planned at the level of UAH 53 billion, the press service of Kyiv City State Administration has reported.
“The budget of the capital for 2019 is planned at the level of UAH 53 billion,” Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said.
According to the mayor, in recent years the Kyiv authorities have managed to increase revenues to the capital budget. The budget of Kyiv for 2018 grew by almost UAH 4 billion. And this allowed realizing many necessary infrastructure projects.
This year, at the expense of the city budget, it was possible to overhaul over 800 kilometers of roads. Bicycle paths appeared in the city, it became possible to build or completely reconstruct 19 kindergartens and seven schools, to implement many other projects.

KYIV’S MAYOR VITALI KLITSCHKO: FIRST INTERNATIONAL SERIAL TO BE FILMED IN KYIV

The first international serial will be filmed in Kyiv with the involvement of a team of cinema makers of the world level together with a group from 1+1 Media, Kyiv’s mayor Vitali Klitschko has announced. “Dear friends, Kyiv is becoming a European movie set for cinema making. Well-known European and U.S. producers and scriptwriters together with a group from 1+1 Media will shoot the first international serial in our city,” Klitschko wrote in a post on Facebook on November 12.
He said the project is planned for distribution by one of the international streaming platforms.
“The shooting of the pilot episode is starting in Kyiv on November 13. Today a memorandum on such cooperation was signed at the Royal Norwegian embassy in Ukraine. I am thankful to H.E. Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Ukraine Ole Horpestad for supporting this project. On its part, our city will provide all the necessary support and assistance,” the mayor of Kyiv said.
The project will involve a team of U.S. and Norwegian scriptwriters and producers. The shooting will be done by Norwegian company Evil Doghouse Production together with Ukrainian company 1+1 Production. The serial named Jonathan Fort will tell the story of the life of a former boxer who gets a new and dangerous job at the Royal Norwegian embassy in Ukraine. About 80% of the storyline will be shot in Kyiv and Odesa.
“Today international stars shoot their clips in the Ukrainian capital, large international companies shoot their ads, and the world learns more about Kyiv. As a result, we get more tourists. And we continue to develop the tourist infrastructure in the capital by creating beautiful locations. Because all of this goes for the benefit of our city,” Klitschko said.

AFTER OVERHAUL OF BIG ORBITAL ROAD BURDEN ON STREETS IN KYIV TO DECREASE – VITALI KLITSCHKO

After the overhaul of the big orbital road the transport burden on central streets in Kyiv would decrease, as transit vehicles would avoid central roads, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has said. The press service of the mayor of Kyiv reported that during the inspection of the construction of the overpass and the junction on the orbital road, in the section from Marshal Rokosovsky Street to Bohatyrska Street, Klitschko said that the main thoroughfare in this section will be about 2 kilometers. The plan provides for the construction of 2 new overpasses, an underground pedestrian crossing, the installation of an embankment, the re-laying of all communications and utility networks. Also landscaping of the adjacent territory will be provided.
According to him, now work has been done to prepare for the construction of overpasses through Bohatyrska Street and through the railway. The tunnel part of the underground pedestrian crossing was made. The development of earth embankment has begun. All the work at the site should be completed next autumn.
Also Klitschko checked up how works on overhaul of Kulzhenko Family Street are being conducted. After the repair there will be a direct exit to the orbital road, which is currently under construction. This will significantly relieve the area of Taras Shevchenko Square from especially transit transport, this will reduce the number of “traffic jams” in the area. Klitschko reminded that over the previous two years more than 500 kilometers of roads were repaired in Kyiv. And at least 300 kilometers are planned to be renewed this year.

VITALI KLITSCHKO PLANS TO RUN AGAIN FOR KYIV MAYOR

Vitali Klitschko plans to again run for Kyiv mayor, the politician said in an interview with Novoye Vremia publication. “I have been holding this post for four years. I have already done many things, and most importantly – a push. The past years were difficult. But I can say now that I will run for a mayor’s post, because I want to accomplish the plans voiced by me,” said Klitschko.
Klitschko has been holding the post of the mayor of Kyiv and head of the Kyiv city state administration since June 2014.

VITALI KLITSCHKO TO HOLD EXHIBITION FIGHT AGAINST LENNOX LEWIS IN KYIV

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, who was crowned the “Eternal World Heavyweight Champion” by the WBC, will again fight former world champion Lennox Lewis as part of the 56th WBC Congress to be held in Kyiv from September 30 to October 5, 2018. “This will be an exhibition fight, which will be held as part of a charity auction. The details of the auction and the format of the bout have not been publicized yet,” reads a report posted on the website of the official fan club of the Klitschko brothers.
A well-known fight between Klitschko and Lewis took place on June 21, 2003. A dramatic bout was stopped by the doctor after the Ukrainian boxer sustained a deep cut above his left eye. Klitschko was ahead 58-56 on the scorecards when the fight was stopped. Lewis defended his champion title thanks to that victory, a rematch was not held, and the Briton soon ended his career.

KYIV TO OPEN SEVERAL TOURIST SITES

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has said that the city authorities are preparing to open several updated tourist sites in 2018 that will help attract more tourists in Kyiv, Kyiv City State Administration’s (KCSA) press service reported on March 31.
“The Champions League final will be held on May 26. We are expecting many tourists. Our goal is to make sure that each of them, upon return home, could tell about the wonderful city of Kyiv. The tourism industry is one of the profitable articles of each city. In the past year, our capital was visited by one-and-a-half million tourists. This year we expect two-and-a-half million guests. I am convinced that Kyiv has great tourist potential, and we are developing it. This year, we will renew St. Volodymyr Hill, the Alley of Artists, and the Landscape Alley. We will soon open very beautiful stairs from the Landscape Alley to the Honchari-Kozhumiaky natural landmark. We will develop the territory around St. Andrew’s Church,” Klitschko said.
According to him, each tourist spends an average of $150 a day in Kyiv, which also invests in the capital’s economy.
According to the report, many guests will come to the city this autumn, when Kyiv hosts the 56th Congress of the World Boxing Council (WBC). Such a great boxing event in Ukraine will be held for the first time.
