The share of land plots cultivated by the 25 largest agricultural holdings is 9% (3.88 million hectares) of the total area of agricultural land in Ukraine, the investment company Concorde Capital (Kyiv) said during the presentation of the agricultural online platform KupiPai.
According to it, the land bank of Kernel agricultural holding (the main beneficiary is Andriy Verevsky) is 510,000 hectares, Ukrlandfarming (Oleh Bakhmatiuk) 475,000 hectares, MHP (Yuriy Kosiuk) 370,000 hectares, Agroprosperis (George Rohr and Maurice Tabasinik) 300,000 hectares, Astarta (Viktor Ivanchik) 243,000 hectares.
Continental Farmers cultivates 195,000 hectares, Epicentr Agro 160,000 hectares, Harveast 127,000 hectares, Ukrprominvest-Agro 120,000 hectares, Agroton and Agrain 110,000 hectares, Vitagro and Privat-agro 85,000 hectares.
Concorde Capital said the land bank TAS-Agro and Nibulon are 83,000 hectares each, Agrovisty, Svitanka and LNZ 80,000 hectares each, Agrotrade 71,000 hectares, Ristone Holdings 67,000 hectares, Grain Alliance 57,000 hectares, AgroGeneration 56,000 hectares.
The investment company said the total area of Ukraine is 60.3 million hectares, including 42,700 hectares are suitable for agriculture (of which 31.1 million hectares are privately owned, 10.4 million hectares are state-owned, 1.2 million hectares of another form of ownership). At the same time, 89% of the 31.1 million hectares of land plots in private ownership are private shares of citizens.
Concorde Capital said that according to data for 2019, 56% of land plots were cultivated by individual tenants, 29% were individual owners, 8% of the land was leased from the state, and 7% were not cultivated at all.

Snack Production (Dnipro) has completed the purchase of Kherson Fruit and Vegetable Plant LLC, the deal was accompanied by the international investment company Millstone & Co with offices in Ukraine and Poland, the investment company reported on its website on Tuesday.
“Kherson Fruit and Vegetable Plant Kherson is one of the largest private fruit and vegetable factories in Ukraine. Its average annual revenue from product sales is about UAH 60 million. The combine has established sales channels: distribution (more than 15 regular partners in all regions of the country); retail chains (for production products under its own trade marks). It also exports products to 20 countries of the world,” director of Millstone & Co in Ukraine Maksym Shynkarenko is quoted as saying.
The parties did not comment on the financial details of the deal.
According to Millstone & Co, the production area of Kherson Fruit and Vegetable Plant Kherson is 9,530 square meters on the territory of 5.2 hectares. The plant can process 300 tonnes of tomatoes per day, its capacity for sterilization and packaging of tomato paste is 3 tonnes per hour, the bottling of tomato juice into glass containers is 3.5 tonnes per hour, the production of juices and puree is 4-5 tonnes per day.
According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities and Individual Entrepreneurs, after the purchase of Kherson Fruit and Vegetable Plant, its ultimate beneficiary was Larysa Omelchenko, who indirectly owns the asset through Closed Nondiversified Venture Capital Investment Fund Omelia Invest.
According to Snack Production, the group is engaged in the production of snacks under its own brands and their distribution through a network of 42 branches across Ukraine. It delivers products to the wholesale and retail segments of retail and HoReCa under the TM Khutorok, La Pasta perprimi, Zeffir, Morskiye (Marine), Frumi, Zubby, EVO home, SoHo, Glint, and Zeffir baby.

PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih (Dnipropetrovsk region) in January-June 2021 reduced the output of general rolled products, according to operational data, by 2.1% year-over-year, to 2.3 million tonnes.
A representative of the company told Interfax-Ukraine that steel production during this period increased by 1.4%, to 2.45 million tonnes, cast iron by 10.4%, to 2,790 tonnes. At the same time, sinter production increased by 7.6%, to 4.95 million tonnes.
In June, about 390,000 tonnes of rolled products, some 420,000 tonnes of steel, some 470,000 tonnes of cast iron, some 880,000 tonnes of sinter were produced.
