The State Service on Food Safety and Consumer Protection has agreed with Libyan experts on the form of an export veterinary certificate for the supply of milk and dairy products, the State Food Service said in a press release.
“Less than two weeks ago, a very productive meeting with the Charge d’Affaires of Libya in Ukraine, Adel Benissa, took place at the State Food and Consumer Protection Service, and today we have very good news for Ukrainian dairy producers about the opening of the export market,” head of the agency Vladyslava Mahaletska said.
She clarified that the possibility of exporting sunflower oil, grain, fruit and berry products from Ukraine to Libya is being considered. The forms of international veterinary certificates for the export of cattle, poultry and products from it have already been agreed.
As reported, Ukraine in April agreed with Argentina the form of an export veterinary certificate for the supply of milk and dairy products to this country.
Ukrainian agricultural products in 2020 gained access to the markets of 12 countries. Some 35 export certificates have been agreed, two EU audits have been passed concerning state control over the production of fish, poultry and products made of them.
According to the State Consumer Service, in 2021, work continues to expand exports in various commodity items, including poultry, livestock, beef and pork, milk and dairy products, honey, apples, blueberries and cherries, legumes, onions, wheat flour, fish and fish products, reproductive material.
Ukraine needs to explore the possibility of building five or six new environmentally friendly coal units, Donbasenergo Commercial Director Oleh Larionov has said.
According to him, given the need for the country to fulfill the National Emission Reduction Plan for large combustion plants, thermal generating companies will not be able to maintain in operation about 12 GW of the required capacities at TPPs to cover peak and semi-peak loads in order to balance the operation of the power system.
“In the next ten years, Ukraine will experience the need to operate about 12 GW of coal-fired mobile generation, over the next ten years it will need at least 5-7 GW. Before we can completely abandon coal generation, and this is the prospect of 25-30 years, our country will need at least 3-3.5 GW of maneuverable capacities. The new built units will ensure a smooth transition of Ukraine to the era of decarbonization,” he said during an online discussion hosted by the Energy Club.
According to Larionov, the construction of new units should be carried out at the expense of foreign investments, taking into account the interests of local business. This will contribute to the creation of new jobs and the development of regional infrastructure.
In addition, he considers it necessary to explore the possibility of eco-modernization of the thermal generation units operating today only if there is confidence that the modernized unit will be able to operate for at least another 15 years.
The Donbasenergo Commercial Director also said that the documents on the consideration of the implementation of the Emission Reduction Plan have already been submitted to the NSDC for the purpose of making a final decision in the event of a conflict of interests between the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Natural Resources.

The Korea Post resumes deliveries to Ukraine, the parcels will be delivered by Air Astana flights through the mediation of GlobalAirCargo, the press service of Ukrposhta said on Wednesday.
Ukrposhta, in particular, informs that EMS delivery will be resumed first, and then all other categories.
The Ukrainian postal operator also said that most of all in the structure of Korean exports to Ukraine is the share of EMS shipments from Korean online stores.
According to the company, before the pandemic, Korea was included in the list of the top 10 delivering countries in all categories of shipments, and in the category of EMS shipments it was in the top three delivering countries of Ukrposhta. In 2020, with the spread of the coronavirus, the Korea Post imposed restrictions on its work: due to the rapid growth in air transportation costs, it closed the reception of parcels that could be delivered to most European countries, including Ukraine.
