ISRAEL AND UKRAINE DISCUSS FINAL READINESS ON SIGNING FTA

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin has agreed with Israeli leaders on the readiness of the Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and Israel, the press service of the Ukrainian ministry has said. “During the meeting, the sides discussed and agreed upon many topics of mutual interest, particularly in the area of trade and investment, agriculture and water management, energy and communications, standardization and tourism. A Protocol of the 11th Meeting of the Commission was signed as a result of the negotiations,” a message reads.
It is noted that the 11th meeting of Joint Ukrainian-Israeli Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation took place in Jerusalem under the co-chairmanship of Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin and Minister for Environment, Minister for Jerusalem and Heritage of the State of Israel Zeev Elkin.
Klimkin also had a meeting with the Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos III, where the subject of the creation of the Autocephalous Orthodox Ukrainian Church was discussed.

GROSSDORF LAUNCHES PRODUCTION OF GRANULAR FERTILIZERS FOR PRECISION AGRICULTURE IN CHERKASY

Grossdorf agrochemical company has launched production of multicomponent solid granular mineral fertilizers with a total capacity of 35,000-50,000 tonnes per year in the village of Khatsky (Cherkasy region), Commercial Director of Grossdorf Serhiy Ruban has said during the official opening of production.
“The company plans to increase production capacity to 100,000-150,000 tonnes per year,” he said.
Grossdorf intends to produce fertilizers by the method of compacting: certain components under high pressure are compressed to form a single granule.
The company said in comparison with other methods of granule formation, the compactor allows quickly changing the component composition and producing goods with any number of components.
Grossdorf agrochemical company (Cherkasy) was established in 2016. It is engaged in production, import, transportation of fertilizers, as well as providing services for application of anhydrous ammonia. Its core business is the supply of basic fertilizers for precision farming. The capacity of liquid fertilizers production is 350,000 tonnes per year.

GERMAN DEVELOPMENT BANK TO ISSUE $17 MLN LOAN TO OTP

The German Development Bank (KfW) will provide OTP Leasing (Kyiv) with a subordinated loan of $17 million under the Agrofinancing program.
According to a press release of KfW, the corresponding loan agreement was signed by the parties on June 19.
The loan is granted for seven years with payment at the end of the term.
“To date, KfW has cooperated with banks in the Ukrainian financial sector, but leasing is a good alternative for financing investments, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises in agricultural sector. Therefore we are very pleased with our new partner, OTP Leasing, and, providing it with a subordinated loan, we are implementing a new financial instrument in Ukrainian leasing,” KfW Director in Ukraine Lutz Horn-Haacke said.
According to the report, the loan attracted by OTP Leasing will allow to provide Ukrainian companies with $180 million financing this year instead of the planned $100 million.
OTP Leasing is part of the European financial group OTP Group. The company was founded in June 2008 as a subsidiary of OTP Bank. It provides a full range of leasing services, works with the leading manufacturers of machinery, equipment and vehicles.

UKRAINE RAISES GAS STOCKS BY 1.4 TIMES

After the heating season had completed, Ukraine increased natural gas reserves in its underground storage facilities (UGS) by 2.971 billion cubic meters, according to data from PJSC Ukrtransgaz. Thus, from April 8 to June 16 gas reserves in storage facilities had grown by 40%, to 10.406 billion cubic meters from 7.435 billion cubic meters.
According to the calculations of Interfax-Ukraine, on June 1-16 gas stocks rose by 841.21 million cubic meters (52.58 million cubic meters per day), in May by 1.632 billion cubic meters (52.65 million cubic meters per day), April 9-30 by 500.84 million cubic meters (22.77 million cubic meters per day).
If the existing volumes of imports and current domestic production are preserved, in July the country have about 11.2 billion cubic meters of reserves in storage facilities.
Ukrtransgaz, 100% owned by Naftogaz Ukrainy, operates the system of trunk gas pipelines and 12 underground gas storage facilities of the country with a total capacity of 31 billion cubic meters.
