ELINA SVITOLINA WINS WTA TOURNAMENT IN CHICAGO

Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina has become the winner of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) tournament in Chicago, winning her first title in the 2021 season, the Ukrainian Tennis Federation reported on Facebook.
“Elina Svitolina has won the first title in the 2021 season! In the final of the tournament in Chicago, she beat Alizé Cornet with the score of 7:5 and 6:4,” it says.
According to the Women’s Tennis Association on Facebook, this is the athlete’s 16th WTA title.

UKRAINE PLANS TO CONCLUDE VISA-FREE AGREEMENT WITH MAURITIUS

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine at a meeting on August 26 approved an order On signing an Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Mauritius on the mutual abolition of visa requirements,” the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reports.
“We work to further expand freedom of travel for Ukrainians,” Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said.
It is reported that the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers is the first step towards the introduction of a visa-free regime. In the future, Ukraine and Mauritius must sign an agreement and carry out a number of domestic procedures.
The draft Agreement provides for the introduction of a visa-free regime for mutual trips of citizens of Ukraine and the Republic of Mauritius for up to 90 days within 180 days.
“The conclusion of a visa-free visa will allow to intensify interpersonal contacts and further develop partnerships with the Republic of Mauritius. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to work systematically to expand freedom of travel for Ukrainians, which is an important element of Ukraine’s foreign policy strategy,” the ministry said.

PLANE OF DEFENSE MINISTRY OF UKRAINE WITH EVACUEES FROM AFGHANISTAN LANDS IN KIEV

The plane of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine with evacuees from Afghanistan landed at Boryspil airport.
The broadcast is hosted by the Ukraine24 television channel. It has not yet been reported how many people were evacuated.
According to the Foreign Ministry, about 90 Ukrainians were expected to be evacuated in Afghanistan. Ukraine has already exported more than 250 of its citizens, their family members and foreigners.

NUMBER OF CYBER INCIDENTS IN UKRAINE DOWN BY 28%

The system of cyber protection of state information resources of Ukraine and critical infrastructure facilities at monitoring sites recorded 376,100 suspicious events from August 18 to 24 August 2021, which is 28% less than in the previous week.
According to the State Service for Special Communication and Information Protection on Thursday, the overwhelming majority of recorded suspicious events concern violations of corporate security policy (32%), detection of network malware (22%), and attempts to obtain administrator rights (20%).
The system of state bodies’ protected access to the Internet blocked 43,100 different types of attacks, which is 18% less than in the previous week. Of these, 99% are application-level network attacks; two DDoS attacks were also recorded and blocked.
During this period, the Government Computer Emergency Response Team of Ukraine (CERT-UA) registered and processed 2,150 cyber incidents.
The vast majority of processed incidents belong to the UACOM domain zone (about 99%). The majority of incidents are related to the distribution of malware (96% of the total) and phishing (3%).
