MEDICAL FACILITIES OF UKRAINE NEED UAH 17 BLN FOR TECHNICAL RE-EQUIPMENT

Ukrainian medical facilities need UAH 17 billion for the technical re-equipment, Minister of Health Viktor Liashko says.
“Some UAH 17 billion are needed for the technical re-equipment of medical facilities. Are there any additional funds? Probably not,” he said during a discussion at the Korean-Ukrainian Forum in Kyiv on Tuesday.
Liashko also announced the plans of the Ministry of Health to launch clustering of medical facilities in 2022 in order to determine “the place and role of each of them in the healthcare system.”
“We cannot invest equally in all medical facilities. We have to find the place and role of each facility in the healthcare system in order to identify the leading provider for each service in each region,” he said.
Liashko recalled: when services for the treatment of heart attacks and strokes were identified as a priority and began to be paid for at an increased rate, “all clinics wanted to have an angiograph.”
“We understand that this cannot be so, since in this case this equipment would not be loaded and would only work two or three hours a day,” he said.
