UKRAINE, POLAND, U.S. SIGN COOPERATION MEMORANDUM IN GAS SECTOR

Ukraine, Poland and the United States on Saturday, August 31, signed an agreement on cooperation in the gas sector, National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine Oleksandr Danilyuk said.
“At a meeting with U.S. Secretary of Energy Rick Perry, which preceded the signing of the Memorandum, we discussed the importance of diversifying the risks dictated by dependence on Russian gas supplies, both for Ukraine and Poland. One of the steps to ensure energy independence of our state will be the supply of liquefied gas through Poland, “he wrote on his Facebook page on Saturday night.
Danyliuk considers the signing of the memorandum historically important for Ukraine.
“A historic day. Another step towards diversifying gas supplies to Ukraine,” Danyliuk said.

AGROTON SEES 72.2% DROP IN NET PROFIT IN H1

Agroton (Luhansk region) in January-June 2019 saw a 72.2% drop in net profit compared to the same period of 2018, to $3.28 million.
According to a report of the holding on the website of the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE), revenue over the period slightly grew by 7.4%, to $17.85 million.
Though, the holding saw 56.5% fall in gross profit, to $3.89 million, and its operating profit decreased 96.7%, to $0.2 million.
As of June 30, 2019, total cost of Agroton assets accounted for $110.9 million.
Through the sixth months of 2019, winter wheat sales revenue saw 21.3 times rise, to $2,56 million (13,800 tonnes), revenues of sunflower sales grew by 24.5%, up to $5.84 million (18,900 tonnes), corn remaining on the same level as the year ago with $0.094 million and other crops saw 1.6 times rise, to $0.36 million.
Revenue in the livestock segment fell by 10.8%, to $1.94 million and in the vegetable oil segment – by 25.8%, to $6.8 million.
Agroton has been working in Ukraine since 1992. It specializes in growing grains and oilseeds, production and sales of livestock products. Agroton’s land bank is about 118,000 ha. It is located in Luhansk and Kharkiv regions. The group owns two poultry farms in Luhansk region.

UKRAINIAN PM PLANS TO FOCUS ON DIGITALIZATION

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine plans in 2020 to focus on digitalization of Ukraine.
“We will draft a plan on digitalization of the state. 2020 will be the year of total digitalization of the country. We will digitalize everything that we have no enough time for this year…This means that after 2020 Ukraine should be totally digital, in a smartphone,” Premier of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk said in a course of a meeting of president with the members of the Cabinet of Ministers, Verkhovna Rada leadership and representatives of law enforcement agencies in Kyiv on Monday.
He also said that if the task on digitalization is fulfilled, a plan on increase of GDP of Ukraine by 40% for five years would be quite real.
According to the premier, a program on the work of the government, which now is being worked on by the Cabinet of Ministers, will be written by a computer program.
“The specific feature of this program [on the work of the government] is that we will try to write it using IT. We have the ambition to be the first program of the Ukrainian government, which will be developed not on paper, but using a computer,” said Honcharuk.
The program on the work of the government to be presented to parliament by the end of month.

UKRAINIAN PRESIDENT NOTES BROAD POTENTIAL FOR DEVELOPING TRADE RELATIONS WITH POLAND

A meeting of the Ukrainian-Polish intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation will be held in the near future, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said. “Poland is already our second largest trading partner in the EU, but the potential of this cooperation has no borders,” he said at a joint press conference with President Andrzej Duda in Warsaw, Poland, on Saturday.
Zelensky hopes for an active dialogue between the governments of the two countries in the framework of the intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation.
He expressed hope that the next meeting of the commission will take place in the near future.

ZENIT BLACK SEA OPEN 2019 INTERNATIONAL SQUASH TOURNAMENT FINISHED IN ODESA

Over 150 players from 12 countries took part in the Zenit Black Sea Open international annual tournament. Due to such a large number of players, the matches were held simultaneously on three courts of Sport Life organizer’s club and two courts of the Formula fitness club.
Almost all the best players of the country, as well as foreign delegations of athletes gathered at the most legendary tournament in Ukraine. Traditionally, the championship was visited by strong guests from the country of the founders of squash – England. For the first time in the history of Ukraine, it was at Zenit that the Masters 40+ and 45+ categories of men debuted. Thus, Zenit has already set Ukraine’s third squash record. So, in 2007, for the first time, it was at Zenit that the PSA debut tournament took place, in 2013 there was a debut of the children’s tournament under the auspices of ESF Zenit Junior Open, and this year the Masters categories started at the Zenit Black Sea.
The main organizer and fitness partner of the event traditionally was the national network of fitness clubs N1 Sport Life.
