Ukraine, in January-October this year, increased imports of nickel ores and concentrate in physical terms by 21.6% compared to the same period last year – up to 1,325,721 tonnes.
According to statistics released by the State Customs Service, imports of nickel ores increased by 19.7% – to $65.184 million in monetary terms.
At the same time, the import was carried out from Guatemala (65.17% of supplies in monetary terms) and Indonesia (34.83%).
In January-October-2020, Ukraine did not export or re-export these products, while in the same period of 2019 it supplied 7,999 tonnes of nickel ores to Greece in the amount of $312,000.
Ukraine, in January-October this year, increased imports of aluminum ores and concentrate (bauxite) in physical terms by 6.2% compared to the same period last year – up to 4.03 million tonnes.
According to statistics released by the State Customs Service, during this period, the import of bauxite in monetary terms increased by 5% – to $190.937 million.
At the same time, imports were carried out mainly from Guinea (62.49% of supplies in monetary terms), Brazil (14.69%) and Ghana (14.30%).
In January-October 2020, 184 tonnes of bauxite for $29,000 were re-exported to Poland, while in 10 months of 2019, 22 tonnes were supplied to this country for $1,000.

Sugar production in Ukraine as of November 9, 2020 amounted to 594,600 tonnes.
According to the website of the National Association of Sugar Producers Ukrtsukor, as of the indicated date, 30 sugar refineries operate in the country, which refined 4.03 million tonnes of sugar beet.
As it was reported with reference to Ukrtsukor, the sugar beet refining season started in the country on September 5.
Sugar production in Ukraine in 2020 is expected at the level of 1.2 million tonnes, which is 15% less than a year earlier. It is expected that 33 sugar refineries will operate this season – at the level of the previous year.
According to the State Statistics Service, the sowing area of sugar beet amounted to 218,900 hectares in 2020 – at the level of the previous year.
SkyUp (Kyiv) in October 2020 transported 130,900 passengers, of which 114,500 by charter flights and almost 16,400 by regular flights.
The press service of the airline reported on Tuesday, in October there were 825 flights under domestic and international flight programs (672 charter flights, and 133 regular flights). Some 79 flights were performed in Ukraine.
The airline also said that in the past month, it completed 91% of its flights on time.
In addition, in October SkyUp transported 31 tonnes of cargo, which is almost 2.5 times more than in September.
