President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will hold an official meeting in Kyiv on August 19 and sign Ukrainian-Israeli documents, the press service of the head of Ukrainian state has reported. The meeting at the Mariyinsky Palace will begin at 10:30, after which a document signing ceremony will take place at 12:45.
Statements by Zelensky and Netanyahu for the media are scheduled at 13:00.
In addition, at 15:20, the president of Ukraine and the premier of Israel will take part in events to pay tribute to the victims of the Babyn Yar tragedy.
Speeding was the main reason behind traffic accidents in which people were injured or killed in Ukraine in January-June 2019, and the number of such accidents was 2,359, or 19.9% more than in the same period of 2018, the Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine (MTIBU) has said.
According to the report, there was also an increase in the number of accidents caused by dangerous maneuvers (+ 22.4%), drunk driving (+35.1%) and due to overtaking (+18.9%).
The press release, referring to official data from the National Police, also notes that more than 73,145 road accidents were recorded in the first half of 2019, which was 6.4% more than in the same period last year.
The number of fatal car accidents grew by 8.2%, to 10,781. In such accidents, 1,455 people were injured (+5.5%) and 1,331 people were killed (+7.6%).
In the first half of 2019, insurers concluded more than four million OSAGO contracts (on compulsory insurance of vehicle owners’ civil liability), or 3% more than in the same period of 2018. The amount of accrued insurance payments grew by 11.2%, to more than UAH 2.4 billion.
The number of settled claims for insurance compensation grew by 8.5%, to 67,200. The amount of insurance claim fee payments on insurance contracts grew by almost 12.9%, to more than UAH 1.2 billion.
The number of settled claims using European road accident record forms grew by almost 22%, to 21,700. The amount of payments made under European road accident record forms rose by 27.7%, to over UAH 202 million.
