STATE-RUN ENERGOATOM RAISES ELECTRICITY GENERATION BY 4.5%

Electricity generation by all power plants of state-owned enterprise Energoatom in January-July 2019 increased by 4.5% (2.099 billion kWh) compared to the same period of 2018, to 48.861 billion kWh.
According to the press service of the company, the target for production of electricity for this period was exceeded by 1.1%.
During this period, the power plants of the state-owned enterprise supplied 45.954 billion kWh of electricity to the market against 43.979 billion kWh in January-July 2018.
The share of Energoatom in the total structure of electricity production in the country was 53.5%.
The volume of capital investments in the seven months of 2019 amounted to UAH 5.711 billion through January-July against UAH 5.654 billion in the same period last year.
Capital investments funding amounted to UAH 8.714 billion against UAH 7.168 billion in 2018.
Energoatom in January-July transferred UAH 8.203 billion to the budgets of all levels, insurance payments amounted to UAH 1.469 billion.

UKRAINIAN PRODUCER OF OAK AND FRUIT WOOD BRIQUETTES READY FOR COOPERATION

Since 2016, VNG STANDART has been producing Pini-Kay oak and fruit wood briquettes for use in solid fuel boilers, fireplaces. It also produces wood charcoal briquettes for charcoal grills, barbecue grills, and charcoal ovens.

SKYUP LAUNCHES FLIGHTS TO ITALIAN TURIN

The Ukrainian low cost air carrier SkyUp Airlines (Kyiv) will launch new flight from Kyiv to Turin (Italy) for a winter navigation period 2019/2020, airlines reported on its website.
The flights will be operated twice a week: on Thursdays and on Sundays. The cost of a ticket starts from UAH 1,410.
As reported, SkyUp from October will launch direct flights between Kharkiv and Lviv, as well as flights from Kyiv to Kharkiv and Zaporizhia.
SkyUp Airlines in the first half of 2019 transported 668,500 passengers.
Currently, the airline’s fleet includes eight aircraft: six Boeing 737-800s and two Boeing 737-700s.

BLOOD PREPARATIONS MANUFACTURER BIOPHARMA TO OFFICIALLY OPEN FRACTIONATOR PLANT IN KYIV REGION

The blood preparations manufacturer, Biopharma, at the end of September will officially open a fractionator plant in Bila Tserkva (Kyiv region).
As the company told Interfax-Ukraine, the construction and commissioning work lasted about four years. In total, the company invested more than $75 million in the construction of the plant.
The plant has installed equipment from global manufacturers in the industry: Stilmas, Olsa, GEA Westfalia, General Electric healthcare, Pall, and Steriline.
“This is the only this kind of plant in Eastern Europe. Our competitors are in Austria, South Africa and China. None of the neighboring countries has such production,” the company said.
For the official opening of the production Biopharma will hold an international conference entitled “Topical Issues of Industrial Production of Blood Products” with the participation of representatives of scientific, medical and regulatory institutions in the field of transfusion from more than 20 countries.
As reported, the plant will have three lines for the production of albumin, immunoglobulin, and factor VIII. The processing capacity ranges from 250,000 to one million liters of plasma per year. Biopharma planned to put it into operation at the end of 2018.
Biopharma immunobiological pharmaceutical company is among the ten largest Ukrainian manufacturers of drugs. It produces more than 20 immunobiological preparations from donated blood plasma, preparations obtained by recombinant DNA technology and probiotics.

PRESIDENT OF FINLAND SAULI NIINISTO TO VISIT UKRAINE IN SEPTEMBER

President of Finland Sauli Niinisto will visit Ukraine on September 12-13.
“President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö will make an official visit to Ukraine and will meet President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv on 12–13 September 2019. This will be the first meeting of Presidents Niinistö and Zelensky,” the official website of the Finnish president said.
President Niinistö last visited Ukraine in 2014.
