INFLATION IN UKRAINE SLOWS DOWN TO 0.7% IN MAY

Inflation in Ukraine in May 2019 was 0.7% compared to 1% in April, 0.9% in March, 0.5% in February and 1% in January, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine has reported. According to its data, in annual terms consumer price growth in May of this year accelerated to 9.6% from 8.8% in April and 8.6% in March.
In May 2019, underlying inflation dropped to 0.2%, while in April it stood at 0.4%, in March at 1.2%, in February at 0.2%, and in January at 0.3%. In annual terms, it remained at the level of April at 7.4% against 7.6% in March, 7.8% in February, and 8.3% in January.

SKYUP AIRLINE EXPANDS FLEET WITH EIGHTH AIRCRAFT

The Ukrainian airline SkyUp has expanded its fleet with the eighth aircraft – Boeing 737-800, the airline reported on its Facebook page.
According to the report, the new Boeing 737-800 with a UR-SQG tail number landed at Boryspil airport (Kyiv) on June 7.
The airplane will be a reserve aircraft of the main fleet, sometimes it will perform one-time charter flights on the order of corporate clients.
The airline’s fleet also consists of five medium-haul Boeing 737-800s (189 seats) and two medium-haul Boeing 737-700s (144,149 seats).
SkyUp Airline LLC was registered in Kyiv in June 2016.

UKRAINE PLANS TO LAUNCH CONTAINER TRAIN FROM KYIV TO LEIPZIG

Ukrzaliznytsia (Kyiv) is negotiating with IPC Business UG (Leipzig, Germany) on the organization of the regular container train from Kyiv to Leipzig in the coming months, Ukrzaliznytsia Board Chairman Yevhen Kravtsov said at Transport Logistic 2019 held in Munich (Germany) from June 4 through June 7.
“We are currently negotiating with IPC Business UG, which expressed its readiness to organize the Kyiv-Leipzig regular container train with us in the coming months,” the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia said, citing Kravtsov.
In addition, as the head of Ukrzaliznytsia said, during the exhibition a number of projects were considered to increase traffic from China to Ukraine, as well as in transit through Ukraine to the EU countries.
According to Kravtsov, in particular, the Chinese Association of CCTA and Chengdu International Railway Service Co., Ltd. confirmed their readiness to organize a train from China to Poland and back using the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route Middle Corridor (TITR) in July 2019.

PUNCTUALITY OF UKRAINIAN AIRLINES DECREASES FROM 86.9% TO 84.4%

Ukrainian airlines in May 2019 serviced 84.4% of flights of the total number of flights serviced at Ukrainian airports within the 15 minute deviation from the timetable, which is 2.5 percentage points (p.p.) worse than the figure for April 2019 (86.9%), according to a posting on the website of the Infrastructure Ministry of Ukraine.
According to the ministry, in May, Ukrainian airlines serviced 4,888 flights.
The punctuality of foreign airlines in May compared with April decreased to 82.8% from 85.1%, while the number of flights totaled 3,198.
Of the Ukrainian airlines that made more than 50 flights a month in May, Motor Sich remains the most punctual, with 96.9% and the number of flights 261.
Windrose is second with 94.5% and with the number of 476.
Punctuality of Ukraine’s largest airline in the market – Ukraine International Airlines – was 89.2%, while the number of flights serviced was 3,126.
The indicators in May for Bukovyna and SkyUp were 74.8% and 66.9% with 151 and 375 flights respectively.
Qatar Airlines, Czech Airlines, Alitalia, Vueling, Aegean Airlines, Iraqi Airlines and Bulgaria Air were ranked the top of the May punctuality rating among foreign airlines with the 100% punctuality, the number of their flights was from three to 62 per month.
Pegasus Airlines had the best performance among low cost airlines – 92.2% with 116 flights. Irish Ryanair is second with 86.8% and 272 flights. The figure of Hungarian Wizz Air was 84% with 582 flights.
