LARGEST MANUFACTURER OF TURBINE EQUIPMENT TURBOATOM SEES 7.6% RISE IN NET PROFIT

JSC Turboatom (Kharkiv), the largest manufacturer of turbine equipment in Ukraine, 75.2% shares of which belong to the state, tentatively saw UAH 764.235 million in net profit in 2018, which is 7.6% more than in 2017.
Thus, Turboatom’s net profit target being UAH 763.166 million was slightly exceeded.
According to an agenda of the general meeting of the company’s shareholders scheduled for April 17, 2019 and posted in the information disclosure system of the National Commission for Securities and the Stock Market, retained earnings as of January 1, 2019 totaled UAH 3.629 billion.
The issue of distributing net profit for 2018 and the approval of annual dividends was put on the agenda of the meeting.
The draft minutes of the meeting has several options for profit distribution, in particular, to send 90% of net profit to pay dividends (UAH 687.75 million) and 10% to cover expenses foreseen in the financial plan for 2019 or to send 80% and 20%, 75% and 25% and 50% each respectively.
According to the report, in 2018, Turboatom increased current liabilities by 11%, to UAH 1.715 billion and noncurrent liabilities fell by 17.8%, to UAH 253.07 million.
Total receivables remained almost unchanged, being UAH 1.457 billion. Assets grew by 4.6%, to UAH 7.555 billion. Net worth as of early 2019 accounted for UAH 5.587 billion, including UAH 105.62 million of the charter capital.
The financial plan of Turboatom for 2019 foresees net profit to be UAH 798.3 million and net revenue UAH 2.737 billion.
Turboatom is the sole producer of turbine equipment in Ukraine for hydro, heat and nuclear electricity stations. The enterprise supplies its products to 45 countries in Europe, Asia, Americas and Africa.

UKRAINE STARTS PRODUCING CONVERTERS FOR SOLAR PLANTS IN ODESA

S-Engineering LLC production company (Odesa) at the end of February signed a licensing agreement with AEG Power Solutions, which will provide it with the exclusive right to manufacture solar converters using AEG PS technology. According to the website of S-Engineering, converters with a capacity of up to 1,000 kVA will be produced at its Odesa factory under the SEMAG brand, created by the Metropoliya group of companies and SE Group International.
At present, converters, which are the main component of solar plants, are not produced in Ukraine.
“The equipment produced by under the AEG PS technology in Ukraine will have a sufficient share of local production to receive the U-1 certificate confirming the Ukrainian origin of the goods,” Oleksandr Semeniuh, the director for solar energy projects at S-Engineering LLC, said.
Vice President for Business and New Markets Development at AEG Power Solutions Jorg Liedloff said that in future the company has big plans to expand the product line that is manufactured using its technology in Ukraine.
Metropoliya provides engineering services of a full cycle in the energy sector. SE Group International, headed by S-Engineering, manufactures switchboard equipment certified under European standards.

90% OF INTERNALLY DISPLACED PERSONS FROM DONBAS READY TO TAKE PART IN PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS

About 90% of internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Donbas are ready to take part in Ukraine’s presidential elections, Head of the All-Ukrainian Platform of Donbas, Head of the Public Council under the Ministry of Temporary Occupied Territories and IDPs Henandiy Borisichev has said.
“We travel a lot around the country and hold many meetings with IDPs. At the end of each meeting we take a so-called sociological poll, based on the results of our meetings, I can say that about 90% of IDPs plan to take part in the elections,” he said at a press conference held at the Kyiv-based Interfax-Ukraine news agency on Tuesday.
Borisichev said about 80-90% of IDPs have already received absentee ballots for voting in the presidential elections in Ukraine.
“Finally, our countrymen have realized that if they do not engage in politics, politics will deal with them, as happened in 2014,” he said.
Borisichev said the all-Ukrainian Platform of Donbas intends ask the top ten presidential candidates to sign on to a public statement pledging to help solve problems faced by IDPs.
The document will set out the candidate’s obligations regarding the support and funding of state programs for providing housing for IDPs, renewing the rights of pensioners from Donbas to pay Ukrainian pensions, ensuring the right of IDPs to take part in local elections, developing and implementing a comprehensive plan for restoring peace in Donbas and the development and adoption of a special law on compensation for victims of the war in Ukraine.

FIVE-STAR HYATT HOTEL INCRESES NET PROFIT IN UKRAINE BY 9.3%

PrJSC New Engineering Technologies (Kyiv), the owner and management company of the five-star hotel Hyatt Regency Kiev, in 2018 saw its net profit rise by 9.3% compared with 2017, to UAH 102.056 million. According to a company report in the information disclosure system of the National Securities and Stock Market Commission about a general meeting of shareholders scheduled for April 18, its assets remained almost unchanged and amounted to UAH 348.7 million.
According to the agenda of the meeting, the company plans to pay UAH 101.182 million in dividends for 2017-2018.
The size of dividends will be UAH 0.47 per share.
According to the report, the total debtor indebtedness of the enterprise in 2018 decreased by 36.6%, to UAH 5.336 million.
Retained earnings increased by 7.7%, to UAH 102.07 million.
Short-term liabilities decreased by 19.5% and amounted to UAH 31.3 million. The company had no long-term liabilities by the end of last year.
In addition, the company intends to include UAH 873,300 in retained earnings.
