UKRAINE INCREASES EXPORTS OF CAST IRON IN KIND BY 16.9% IN 2016

KYIV. Jan 11 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine in 2016 increased cast iron exports in kind by 16.9%, compared to the same period in 2015, to 2.54 million tonnes.

According to customs statistics, made public by the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, exports of cast iron in monetary terms grew by 7.9% during this period, to $551.215 million.

Exports were mainly made to the United States (29.61% of supply in terms of money), Turkey (27.41%), and Italy (25.76%).

In 2016 Ukraine imported 1,755 tonnes of cast iron worth $661,000, whereas in 2015 it imported 3,431 tonnes of similar products for $1.177 million. Imports were mainly made from Russia (75.45% of deliveries in monetary terms), Germany (16.69%) and Italy (4.58%).

Ukraine in 2015 decreased cast iron exports in kind by 1.7%, to 2.172 million tonnes and by 36.4% in money terms, to $510.644 million.

Cast iron was mainly exported to Italy (30.63%), Turkey (25.11%) and the United States (19.9%).

Ukraine last year imported 3,431 tonnes of cast iron (53.6% down year-over-year). In money terms imports decreased by 60.6%, to $1.177 million.

Cast iron was mainly imported from Russia (88.03%) and Germany (9.59%).

UKRAINE INCREASES HONEY EXPORTS BY 1.6 TIMES IN 2016

KYIV. Jan 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine in 2016 exported 56,990 tonnes of honey, which is 1.6 times more than a year earlier, the State Fiscal Service has said.

According to its figures, in terms of money honey exports grew by 15.4%, to $97.28 million.

The main consumers of Ukrainian products were Germany, Poland, and the United States.

Honey imports to Ukraine over the past year rose from 17 tonnes to 118 tonnes.

UKRAINE EXPORTS 23.1 MLN TONNES OF GRAIN SINCE START OF 2016/2017 MY

KYIV. Jan 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine since the beginning of the 2016/2017 marketing year (MY, July-June) and as of January 6, 2016 had exported 23.07 million tonnes of grain.

According to the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food, by that time the country had exported about 11.5 million tonnes of wheat, 4.33 million tonnes of barley and about 7.13 million tonnes of corn.

In addition, Ukraine exported 169,700 tonnes of flour.

As reported, with reference to data from the ministry, Ukraine in the 2015/2016 MY exported 39.487 million tonnes of grain, which is 13.5% more than in the previous season.

According to forecasts from the ministry, grain exports in the 2016/2017 MY could reach about 40 million tonnes.
