From May 15 intervals between trains of the Kiev subway will be reduced

From May 15, the intervals between trains of the Kiev subway will be reduced, and second vestibules will be opened at some stations, according to the Kiev City State Administration

“From Monday, intervals between trains will be reduced on each subway line. The waiting time during peak hours on weekdays will be 3-4 minutes, during off-peak – 6-8 minutes. Also the interval between trains will be increased on weekends, during the day the interval between trains will be 6-7 minutes,” – said in a message of the KSCA in Telegram-channel on Friday.

At nine stations will work the second exits. At the station “Obolon” lobby number 1 will work (in the direction of “Minskaya” station). Concourse 2 will remain closed because of repairs.

Recall that “Akademgorodok”, “Darnitsa”, “Lesnaya”, “Minskaya”, “Pochayna” and “Vydubychi” stations have two exits.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Plans Latin American Tour

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba is planning a tour of Latin America in the second half of the year, during which he will visit a number of countries in the region.

“Guatemala had an unprecedented response to the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia. We noticed it, and we will always be grateful. That’s why I’m here. But I’m planning a bigger Latin American tour in the second half of the year. And as part of that tour – I intend to visit a number of countries in the region,” Kuleba said at a press conference with Guatemalan Foreign Minister Mario Bucaro.

Kuleba noted that Ukraine now maintains an ongoing dialogue with many Latin American countries at the presidential and foreign minister level.

“For example, yesterday we hosted Celso Amorimo, Chief Adviser of the Special Consultative Service of the Brazilian Presidential Administration, in Kyiv,” the Minister added.

According to the head of the department, 2023 will be “a year of relations with Latin America” for Ukraine.

“You will hear a lot from us. And of course, we will be happy to hear a lot from Latin America and to host visitors from Latin America,” Kuleba said.

State Aviation Enterprise “Ukraine” again announced tender for insurance with budget of more than 23 mln UAH

According to a message in the electronic procurement system Prozorro, the expected value of the purchase of insurance services is UAH 23.392 million.
The tender bid is secured by an electronic bank guarantee of UAH 233.9 thousand.
The deadline for bids is May 20.
As reported, a similar tender with the same budget was announced on April 28, after a tender with a budget of UAH 17.1 million, announced on March 9, failed due to lack of proposals.
The State Aviation Enterprise “Ukraine” was established to organize, provide and perform air transportation, special flights of the highest official delegations of Ukraine and other states in the country and abroad in compliance with the requirements and rules, which are stipulated in the relevant regulatory documents.

Ukraine reduced procurement of scrap by 41%

Enterprises on operations with scrap ferrous metals in January-April this year reduced the procurement of scrap by 40.9% compared to the same period last year, to 366.6 thousand tons from 620.1 thousand tons.
As reported in the operational information of the Ukrainian Association of Secondary Metals (UAVtormet), the export of scrap metal during this period amounted to 56.4 thousand tons compared to 7.1 thousand tons in January-April 2022 (an increase of 8 times). In this case, the import of scrap amounted to 0.06 thousand tons, compared to 0.1 thousand tons in the first four months of last year.
Scrap shipments to the country’s metal companies in January-April 2023 decreased by 49.8% compared to January-April 2022 – to 292.8 thousand tons from 583.5 thousand tons.
As of May 1, 2023, the level of scrap metal stock at Ukrainian metal companies was estimated at 20-25 thousand tons.
As reported, scrap metal companies in the first quarter of 2023 decreased steel procurement in 2.5 times compared to the same period last year – up to 222.6 thousand tons, while the export of scrap metal was 40.3 thousand tons (an increase of 5.7 times). Thus, the backlog of scrap procurement in relative terms is reduced, while the export of strategic raw materials for steelmakers from Ukraine is increasing.
Ukraine in 2022, reduced the procurement of scrap metal by 75.9% compared to the previous year – up to 996.7 thousand tons from 4.136 million tons. The export of scrap metal last year was 53.6 thousand tons, which is 11.5 times less than in 2021 (615.7 thousand tons). At the same time the import of scrap was 1.8 thousand tons, compared to 23 thousand tons in 2021.
Scrap supplies to steel companies in the country last year decreased by 73% compared to 2021 – to 895.7 thousand tons from 3 million 323.4 thousand tons.
“UAVtormet predicts that this year the procurement of scrap ferrous metals in the amount of 1.1-1.2 million tons. In addition, it is projected that in 2023, the supply of scrap metal to metal companies of the country will amount to 950-1000 thousand tons. Scrap exports are expected to amount to 100-120 thousand tons, and imports – 1.5-3 thousand tons. Steel output in 2023 will be 4.8-5.2 million tons.

PrivatBank’s assets increase by 35%

At the end of 2022 assets of state-owned PrivatBank (Kyiv) reached UAH 549.7 billion, which is 35% more than at the end of 2021 (UAH 407.3 billion).
As Anna Samarina, the deputy chairman of the bank management board, said at the press conference “We take and report: the largest bank in the year of the most difficult challenges” on Friday, such growth is due to increase of liquid assets by 110.3 billion UAH, growth of additional investments in government bonds by 17.3 billion UAH and growth of the business customer loan portfolio by 10.1 billion UAH.
At the same time, in 2022 the portfolio of loans to individuals decreased by 900 million UAH.
According to Samarina, customer accounts at the end of 2022 amounted to UAH 472 billion (in equivalent), which is 1.5 times higher than at the end of 2021 (325.3 billion UAH).
The growth was due to the receipt of 117.6 billion UAH in customer accounts and the impact of changes in the exchange rate (29.1 billion UAH).
“We kept our expenses almost at the level of 2021. The growth was 5%. We did not cut costs, we did not cut staff. We have been very attentive to the expenses we have incurred,” noted the deputy head of PrivatBank.
She added that in the first months of the war there were big discounts from many suppliers, which also helped the bank, but it had no significant effect on the expenses.
The bank’s provisions for credit risks increased 17.1-fold to UAH 15.4 billion.
