CABINET OF MINISTERS PERMITS BIOPHARMA TO EXPORT DONOR BLOOD PREPARATIONS FOR INDEFINITE PERIOD OF TIME

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has permitted the manufacturer of blood-derived products Biopharma Plasma LLC (Kyiv region) to sell donor blood preparations outside of the country for the indefinite period of time. The government approved the resolution at a meeting on Tuesday. The implementation of the resolution will contribute to an increase in the volume of production of medicines and the expansion of the export potential of Ukraine.
As reported, at the end of 2017, the Cabinet of Ministers issued Biopharma Plasma a license to export 32 names of medicines and medical products outside Ukraine in 2018.
Biopharma is among the ten largest Ukrainian drug manufactures. Biopharma produces more than 20 immunobiological preparations of blood, as well as drugs obtained by recombinant DNA technology and probiotics.
According to the National Commission for Securities and the Stock Market, shares in Biopharma Plasma belong to Niobera Investments Limited (Cyprus). The holder of a majority stake and the beneficiary (the holder) of the majority stake of the shareholder Niobera Investments Limited is Kostiantyn Yefymenko. Another beneficiary of Niobera Investments Limited is Vasyl Khmelnytsky.

UNIT.CITY, BIOPHARMA AND OTHER COMPANIES ENTER EBA

The European Business Association (EBA) in September got 15 new members, including Ukrlandfarming, one of the largest agricultural holdings in terms of land bank, the UNIT.City innovative park, Biopharma pharmaceutical plant LLC and ADD (Apteka Dobroho Dnia) pharmacy chain.
According to the EBA, among its new members are also Aakon Grain Ukraine LLC with an elevator of 10,000 tonnes, providing agricultural machinery leasing services, Brovary Aluminum Plant from ALUMETA Group, and Art Nation of movie maker Eduard Akhramovych, working in the sphere of marketing.
Its new members also became Audit Consult Group LLC, the creators of premises for entrepreneurs Business Interiors LLC, a real estate company from Benish Group GmbH, Edwin Steel Corporation LLC and Goodgrainoil, selling grain and oilseeds.
According to the release, in addition, EBA members became Perenio, whose parent company Perenio IoT has its headquarters in the Czech Republic, Rent-a-car Ukraine LLC, an official representative of Europcar in Ukraine, and Skyrora UA, a subsidiary of British-based Skyrora Limited of Volodymyr Levykin.
The EBA told Interfax-Ukraine the total number of the association members reached 979 companies.

BIOPHARMA TO BOOST EXPORTS BY 60% INCLUDING NEW COUNTRIES (BANGLADESH AND COLOMBIA)

Kyiv-based producer of blood-derived products Biopharma is to boost exports by 60% in August 2018 year-over-year, to UAH 130 million. Exports in August will be 40% higher than the monthly average indicator during the year, the company’s press service said. In August 2018, the company will ship, in addition to Ukraine, to markets of 10 countries, including Belarus, Kazakhstan, India, Colombia, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Middle East countries, as well as to Slovakia, Mongolia, and Bangladesh. It should be noted that Biopharma’s products will be delivered to Bangladesh and Colombia for the first time. The company’s plans include the expansion of its presence in the European markets.
Biopharma immunobiological pharmaceutical company is one of the ten largest Ukrainian producers of medicines. It produces more than 20 immunobiological preparations from donated blood, preparations obtained with the use of recombinant DNA technology and probiotics.
In 2015, the company invested $3.5 million in the reconstruction of Sumy region’s blood center, which currently accounts for 98.2% of donated blood in the region.
Biopharma plans to launch a plasma fractionation plant in 2018. The Biopharma Group of Companies includes LLC Biopharma Invest, LLC Biopharma Plasma Invest, LLC Biopharma Plasma, and LLC Fractionation Plant FZ Biopharma.

UKRAINIAN MEDICINE PRODUCER BIOPHARMA TO ENTER INDIAN, AFRICAN PHARMA MARKET

Biopharma, a blood products maker, plans to boost suppliers of its products to the traditional markets for the company and actively develop new ones – India, African countries, Biopharma Group President Kostiantyn Yefymenko has said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine. The group plans to boost sales in Ukraine and supplies to Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Georgia.
“At the same time, the most promising for us is the Indian market, and after it – Africa, where we will intensively increase our presence,” Yefymenko said.
Commenting on plans for expansion of activities in foreign pharmaceutical markets, he said that currently Biopharma “does not strongly focus on the EU countries” because of the conservatism of this market, although it delivers its drugs, in particular probiotics, to some European countries – Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

UKRAINIAN BIOPHARMA PLANS TO BRING TIG TO MARKET IN 2019

Biopharma, a blood products maker, plans to bring tetanus immune globulin (TIG) to the market by the end of 2019, Biopharma Group President Kostiantyn Yefymenko has said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine. “Taking into account the country’s needs, we are working on the specific tetanus immune globulin. We hope that we would be able to bring it to the market by late 2019,” he said.

BIOPHARMA PLANS TO OPEN PLASMA CENTERS IN KHARKIV, DNIPRO, CHERKASY

Biopharma, a blood products maker, intends by the end of 2018 to open two plasma centers in Kharkiv and one in Dnipro, it is also planned to build a center in Cherkasy, President of Biopharma Kostiantyn Yefymenko has told Interfax-Ukraine. “Now we are engaged in the construction of two plasma centers in Kharkiv. We have already rented premises with an area of 700 square meters and plan to rent another facility with an area of 1,500 square meters. We are also planning to build one more center in Dnipro, where we have already rented premises (733 sq m) and Cherkasy. In time, we will build in other regional centers,” he said.
Yefymenko said that at present conceptual projects, construction projects have been approved for plasma centers in Kharkiv and the Dnipro, permissions have been obtained and dismantling work commenced.
“We plan to launch our first center in Kharkiv in autumn, in Dnipro in December,” he noted.
Biopharma, which currently collects about 4 tonnes of blood plasma per month, expects that the opening of new plasma centers in the first quarter of 2019 will increase the amount of plasma collection to 20 tonnes a month.
