Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Moldovan President Maia Sandu, and Romanian President Nicușor Dan will hold a trilateral meeting in Chisinau on Thursday, August 27, as part of the events marking the 35th anniversary of Moldova’s independence.
According to the schedule released by the Romanian Presidential Administration, the trilateral meeting between Zelenskyy, Sandu, and Dan is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. at the Presidential Palace in Chisinau. Following the talks, the three heads of state will make joint statements to the press.
The official program from the Moldovan side states that Sandu will meet with the Romanian president at 2:35 p.m. After bilateral talks, Sandu and Dan will take part in a military parade on the Great National Assembly Square, dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the country’s independence. The presidents are scheduled to begin their participation in the parade at 4:45 p.m.
The Moldovan president will meet with Zelenskyy at 6:00 p.m., followed by a trilateral meeting of delegations from Ukraine, Moldova, and Romania.
In the evening, Zelenskyy, Sandu, and Dan will also take part in festive events on the Great National Assembly Square. After 9:00 p.m., the three presidents are scheduled to address the public.
On August 27, Moldova celebrates the 35th anniversary of the declaration of independence. The country’s parliament adopted the Declaration of Independence on August 27, 1991. This year’s events are taking place under the slogan “Independence Unites Us.”

Ukrzaliznytsia, in cooperation with Moldovan authorities, is launching a trial logistics service to Chisinau International Airport—on April 13, the route of Train No. 351 (Kyiv–Chisinau) will be extended to Revaca Station, located near the airport.
According to the company, a free shuttle will be provided for passengers at Revaka Station to transport them to the airport terminal.
Ukrzaliznytsia noted that the test run is intended to demonstrate the feasibility of a stop near the airport, and if there is significant demand, Revaka could become a permanent stop on Train No. 351’s route.
According to Serbian Economist, Ukrainian airline SkyUp Airlines, operating from Chisinau under the brand name of its partner carrier Vision Air, will launch direct seasonal flights on the Chisinau–Tivat (Montenegro) route in the summer season of 2026. This is stated in the airline’s announcement.
According to the published schedule, flights will start on June 9, 2026, and will be operated three times a week — on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays — until September 20, 2026, on Boeing 737-700 aircraft.
As noted by the industry portal Ex-Yu Aviation, SkyUp will compete directly with the Moldovan carrier FlyOne on the Chisinau–Tivat route, which also plans to operate three flights a week on this route during the summer season.
“Demand for travel to the Balkans is growing every year, as the region combines affordable prices, the sea, nature, and a variety of leisure activities. The launch of flights to Tivat and Tirana gives our passengers more opportunities for summer travel in the 2026 season. We continue to develop our route network from a convenient starting point – Chisinau – and offer quality service at a fair price,” said Daria Alekseenko, SkyUp’s director of scheduled flights.
On the day sales started, tickets for the new route were offered at a promotional fare of €17 one way, SkyUp emphasizes.

SkyUp Airlines has announced the launch of ticket sales for the 2026 summer season and a significant expansion of its route network from Chisinau, which is becoming one of the key aviation hubs for Ukrainian passengers.
According to the carrier’s press service, the schedule includes new flights to Ireland, Switzerland, Spain, Greece, France, Italy, and Georgia.
Among the destinations are:
Chisinau – Madrid (from April 16, 2026, twice a week);
Chisinau – Malaga (from May 2, up to twice a week);
Chisinau – Tenerife (from May 30, once a week);
Chisinau – Paris (CDG) (from April 12, up to twice a week);
Chisinau – Basel (from May 15, twice a week);
Chisinau – Dublin (from December 18, 2025, up to twice a week);
Chisinau – Corfu, Rhodes, Zakynthos (from the end of May, 1–2 flights a week);
Chisinau – Rimini (from May 30, up to twice a week);
Chisinau – Tbilisi (from November 1, 2025, up to 4 times a week).
SkyUp reminded that since April 2025, it has been operating regular flights from Chisinau to a number of popular cities in France, Portugal, Spain, Cyprus, Greece, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Sweden.
The airline, which has been operating for more than six years, received a Maltese license in 2023, allowing it to operate regular flights within European airspace.
Ukrainian airline SkyUp Airlinehas added three new destinations from Chisinau airport to its existing ones: starting in June, the company will operate flights to Berlin (Germany), Stockholm (Sweden), and Prague (Czech Republic). SkyUp announced on Friday that the company will start operating new flights in June. On April 4, tickets for the new flights were available at a promotional price of €14.5. Promotional prices are valid from April 4 to October 1, 2025. It is possible to pay for the ticket with the passenger’s balance.
SkyUp reminded that starting from April 2025, regular flights from Chisinau to the following destinations will be launched: Paris, Nice (France), Lisbon (Portugal), Barcelona, Alicante and Palma de Mallorca (Spain), Larnaca (Cyprus), as well as Thessaloniki, Athens and Heraklion (Greece).
In 2024, SkyUp increased passenger traffic by 61.6% compared to 2023 to 2.5 million passengers.

The Odesa Regional Military Administration, together with Ukrainian and Moldovan border guards, customs officers and representatives of the EUBAM mission, continues preparations for the launch of the first Odesa-Chisinau air shuttle, said Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.
“This should speed up the passage of Ukrainians traveling to Chisinau International Airport and relieve the border crossing points (primarily in the area of the Mayaky-Palanka-Udobne checkpoint). Organized transportation of passengers will also reduce the load on the region’s roads by cars and improve the level of service for the population in the field of international transportation,” Kiper wrote in his telegram channel.
He noted that the transfer will be carried out in several stages: passenger registration in the electronic system with a copy of the plane ticket departing from Chisinau, the formation of passenger groups 2-3 days before the departure of flights, after which buses with pre-registered passengers will depart from Odesa. Passengers of the air transfer will undergo customs and border procedures in an expedited mode.
The total planned travel time is 4 hours.
“We will do everything to launch the first buses in the near future,” added Kiper.
