PRICES FOR CONSTRUCTION WORK IN UKRAINE UP BY 12% IN FEB

Prices for construction and assembly work in Ukraine in February 2021 increased by 12% compared to February 2020, the State Statistics Service has said.
According to it, prices increased in all construction segments: construction of buildings saw an increase of 7.4%, of which residential – by 6.8%, and non-residential – by 7.9%; engineering construction increased in price by 19%. The prices for the construction of complex industrial facilities increased the most – by 41.2%.
Compared to the previous month, prices for construction of residential buildings increased by 0.9%, non-residential buildings by 2%, and engineering structures by 4.5%.
As reported, in 2020, prices for construction work in Ukraine increased by 3.7% compared to the previous year, while in 2019 – by 6%.

VOLUME OF CONSTRUCTION WORK IN UKRAINE 11.2% DOWN IN JAN

The volume of construction work performed in Ukraine in January 2021 decreased 11.2% compared to January 2020, to UAH 7.2 billion, the State Statistics Service has said.
According to the statistics department, in January, the volume of construction work performed decreased by 80.3% compared to the previous month (according to seasonally adjusted data – by 14.6%), while compared to November 2020, this figure decreased by 1.2%.
The State Statistics Service reported that in January 2021 compared to January 2020, the growth in the volume of construction work was observed only in the segment of construction of engineering structures – the figure was 44.8%. At the same time, in residential construction, the decline in the volume of construction work amounted to 9.1%, in nonresidential – 6%.
The share of new construction of the total volume of completed construction work was 43.1%, repairs – 27.6%, reconstruction and technical re-equipment – 29.3%.
An increase in the volume of construction work in January 2021 compared to January 2020 was recorded in Sumy (by 0.2%, to UAH 88.7 million) and Khmelnytsky (by 128.1%, to UAH 285.8 million) regions.
In other regions of Ukraine, there was a decrease in the volume of construction work, in particular, in Zakarpattia region (by 59.4%, to UAH 22.8 million), Vinnytsia (by 55.6%, to UAH 96.8 million) and Luhansk (by 48.5%, to UAH 12 million). In Kyiv city, the indicator decreased 18.2%, to UAH 1.8 billion.
The data are given excluding the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea and territories in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

PRICES FOR CONSTRUCTION WORK IN UKRAINE 10% UP IN JANUARY

Prices for construction and installation work in Ukraine in January 2021 increased by 10.6% compared to January 2020, the State Statistics Service has reported.
According to the statistics department, prices increased in all construction segments: in residential construction the growth was 6.6%, in non-residential construction – 7.1%, in engineering – 16.6%.
Compared to the previous month, the cost of construction of residential buildings increased by 2.8%, non-residential – by 3.5%, engineering structures – by 4.3%.
As reported, in 2020, prices for construction work increased by 3.7% compared to the previous year, while in 2019 – by 6%.
The figures are given without taking into account the annexed territory of Crimea and Sevastopol, as well as part of the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the State Statistics Service notes.

CONSTRUCTION WORK PERFORMED IN UKRAINE 8.3% UP IN AUGUST

The volume of construction work performed in Ukraine in August 2020 increased 8.3% compared to August 2019, while in July compared to July a year earlier it decreased 1.1%.
According to the State Statistics Service, since the beginning of the year, the volume of construction work completed amounted to UAH 97.8 billion. In general, in January-August this year, this indicator decreased 2.8% compared to the same period last year.
According to the statistics department, in August the indicator increased 2.6% compared to the previous month (according to seasonally adjusted data by 3.6%), while in July compared to June this indicator increased 2.7%.
According to the State Statistics Service, in August 2020 compared to August 2019, the volume of work decreased in residential and nonresidential construction. Thus, according to unadjusted data, the decrease in volumes in residential construction was 11.9%, in the construction of nonresidential buildings it was 5.4%. At the same time, the construction of engineering structures grew by 20.2%.
The share of new construction of the total volume of completed construction work amounted to 39.8%, repairs – 33.2%, reconstruction and technical re-equipment – 27%.
The statistics are given without taking into account the occupied Crimea and the temporarily occupied territories in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

VOLUME OF CONSTRUCTION WORK IN UKRAINE DOWN IN APR

The volume of construction work in Ukraine in April 2020 decreased by 16.1% compared to April 2019, while in March 2020 it decreased by 12.8% compared to March 2019. The State Statistics Service said that the volume of construction work amounted to UAH 36.2 billion from the beginning of 2020. In general, this indicator decreased by 8.7% in January-April 2020, compared to the same period in 2019.
According to the service, the indicator decreased by 4.1% in April compared to March (according to seasonally adjusted data, it decreased by 2.8%), while in March this figure fell by 1.8% compared to February.
The State Statistics Service said that in April 2020 from April 2019, the volume of work decreased in all sectors of construction. Thus, according to unadjusted data, the decrease in volumes of residential construction amounted to 28.9%, in nonresidential construction was12.1%, in building the engineering structures amounted to 12.6%.
The share of new construction of the total volume of finished construction works amounted to 45.3%, repairs to 27.1%, reconstruction and technical re-equipment to 27.6%.
In January-April 2020, compared with the same period in 2019, an increase in the volume of construction work was recorded in Chernihiv (by 38.3%, to UAH 499.6 million), Rivne (by 7.9%, to UAH 521 million), Lviv (by 5.1%, to UAH 2.63 billion), Kyiv (by 4.8%, to UAH 2.23 billion), Ternopil (by 3.5%, to UAH 519.5 million) and Mykolaiv (by 0.3%, to UAH 766.1 million) regions. In the remaining 18 regions and Kyiv city, a decrease in the volume of construction work was recorded, in particular, in Kirovohrad by 44.9%, to UAH 298.6 million, Vinnytsia by 33.3%, to UAH 1.28 billion, and Zhytomyr by 20.6%, to UAH 399.5 million. In Kyiv city, the volume of construction work done during this period decreased by 8.7% and amounted to UAH 8.91 billion.

VOLUME OF CONSTRUCTION WORK IN UKRAINE 12.8% DOWN IN MARCH

The volume of construction work decreased by 12.8% in Ukraine in March 2020 compared to March 2019, whereas in February 2020 by 3.8% compared to February 2019.
The State Statistics Service said that the volume of construction work has reached UAH 26.1 billion from the beginning of 2020. In general, that indicator decreased by 5.5% in the first quarter of 2020, compared to the same period in 2019.
The statistics service said that the indicator increased by 28.2% in March, compared to February (according to seasonally adjusted data, it decreased by 1.8%), while compared to January 2019, that indicator decreased by 2.7%.
The statistics service said in March 2020 that the volume of work decreased in all sectors of construction, except non-residential one in March 2019. Thus, according to unadjusted data, the reduction in volumes in residential construction amounted to 25%, in the construction of engineering structures by 12.4%. The growth in work in the construction of non-residential buildings amounted to 1%.
The share of new construction to the total volume of finished construction works amounted to 46.7%, repair amounted to 25.8%, reconstruction and technical re-equipment amounted to 27.5%.
Decrease in the volume of construction work was recorded in 13 regions, in particular in Kirovohrad (by 50.5%, to UAH 219.3 million), Odesa (by 27.8%, to UAH 1.51 billion) and Zhytomyr (by 20.2%, to UAH 267.6 million) in January-March 2020, compared with the same period in 2019.
The largest growth in construction work was recorded in Chernihiv (by 22.9%, to UAH 339.2 million), Lviv (by 15.4%, to UAH 2.03 billion) and Rivne (by 12%, to UAH 356.5 million) regions in the first quarter of 2020. In Kyiv, the volume of construction work performed during that period decreased by 8.3% and amounted to UAH 6.46 billion.
The statistical data are given excluding the occupied territory of Crimea and the temporarily occupied territories in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
