Experts from various fields of medicine made recommendations to patients with COVID-19 during a press conference at the Interfax-Ukraine agency on Monday.
“First, try to be outdoors as much as possible, but on condition that the air temperature is not lower than -4 or -5 degrees. Second, try to do physical exercises, but mostly of an aerobic nature,” the head of the rehabilitation department of the Adonis network of medical clinics, Vadym Kerestey, recommends.
In addition, he commented on the currently popular recommendation for patients after COVID-19 to “inflate balloons.”
“It is categorically not recommended to inflate balloons. Training should be aimed not at exhalation, but at inhalation, in order to increase the vital capacity of the lungs and use as much lung tissue as possible to improve gas exchange,” Kerestey said.
In turn, the head of the department of nephrology of the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine, Dmytro Ivanov, recommended that patients after COVID-19 do basic diagnostic tests.
“Do a blood test, urine test, measure blood pressure after COVID-19. Assess whether you need a doctor at all in this situation, whether you feel comfortable, whether you need any help,” he said.
Natalya Yaschenko, the Associate Professor of the Department of Cardiac Surgery of the National Healthcare University of Ukraine, a cardiologist of the highest category, recommended physical, metered loads, control of blood pressure and eating behavior to those who had undergone COVID-19. At the same time, she emphasized that the reason for timely medical assistance can be an acute deterioration in the form of an increase or decrease in blood pressure, an increase or decrease in heart rate, progressive chest pain that does not decrease for several hours.
The obstetrician-gynecologist of the highest category, Volodymyr Terekhov, in turn, drew attention to the fact that “one of the signs of recovery for married couples is the desire to have a child.”
“If a married couple wants to fulfill their duty and give birth to a child, then this is an indicator that speaks of their recovery. To realize a basic function or reproduce – it is very important to do this after rehabilitation,” Terekhov said.
At the same time, the psychologist, psychoanalyst Olena Buts recommends dietology to patients: minerals, vitamins, coenzymes – what, according to her, increases immunity and brings happiness.

Some 36% of Ukrainian citizens are not ready to be vaccinated against COVID-19, those who do not want to be vaccinated are more present among young respondents, according to a study by the Sociological Group Rating conducted on November 10-13. According to the survey, 46% of respondents noted that they have already been vaccinated (first or second vaccination), 16% indicated that they are ready to be vaccinated, while 36% are not ready.It is noted that the survey was conducted only among the adult population of Ukraine, while the official statistics of the number of vaccinated are displayed among the entire population. Over the past month, the number of vaccinations has increased (from 36 to 46%). Relatively more reluctance to get vaccinated is seen among young respondents.At the same time, 55% support compulsory vaccination of representatives of certain spheres (teachers, doctors, government officials), 35% are against it. The ban on visiting public institutions without a COVID certificate or test is supported by almost 40%, against – 53%. Almost 30% support the ban on using public transport, 65% do not.According to the study, 71% of the respondents consider it a violation of their rights to impose restrictions on unvaccinated people, 26% are of the opposite opinion. There are more of the latter in Kyiv present among the oldest respondents and those who have already been vaccinated.At the same time, 49% do not support politicians who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19, 35% of respondents are indifferent to this, and 14% support such figures.Also, 61% of respondents believe that Ukraine is capable of developing its own vaccine against coronavirus, 37% do not.According to the survey data, 40% of respondents believe that no one is to blame for the increase in the incidence of coronavirus. Every fifth (21%) blames people who refused to be vaccinated for the worsening epidemiological situation, 15% blame the Ministry of Health.At the same time, the president and the Cabinet of Ministers are considered guilty by 7-8%, local authorities – 2%. Those who do not want to be vaccinated are more likely to believe in the spontaneous causes of the increase in the incidence. Those vaccinated and those who intend to do so are more often blamed for the growth of the epidemic on those who do not intend to be vaccinated against the coronavirus.The opinion poll was conducted using the CATI method (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviews – telephone interviews using a computer) based on a random sample of mobile phone numbers among the population of Ukraine over 18 years old in all regions, except for the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea and Donbas.The sample is representative in terms of age, gender and type of settlement. Sample population is 2,500 respondents. The error of the representativeness of the study with a confidence level of 0.95: no more than 2%.
Suspension from work due to lack of vaccination against COVID-19 and verification of vaccination certificates in public places will be appealed in the Kyiv District Administrative Court.
According to the press service of the court, the court has registered f lawsuits against the State Space Agency of Ukraine to appeal against orders to dismiss from work. In particular, the plaintiffs ask the court to declare unlawful and cancel the orders by which they were suspended from work, and resume them at work.
In addition, the court opened proceedings on the case seeking to appeal against certain provisions of Resolution No. 1236 dated December 9, 20 on the establishment of quarantine and the introduction of restrictive anti-epidemic measures in order to prevent the spread of acute respiratory disease COVID-19 caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in Ukraine.
In particular, the plaintiff, among other things, asks the court to cancel paragraph 18 of the said resolution regarding the granting of the right to employees of the National Police, the National Guard, officials authorized by local authorities to conduct random check of documents, as well as documents confirming vaccination against COVID-19 on the streets, in parks, other public places (catering establishments, entertainment establishments, transport).
As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine instructed the heads of state bodies, heads of enterprises, institutions and organizations to ensure the removal of unvaccinated employees from work from November 8 until they are vaccinated.
Scientists and doctors from Ukraine, the United States and Italy exchanged the results of the latest scientific research in the fight against coronavirus and confirmed the effectiveness of antiviral drugs in the fight against COVID-19.
“The problem of combating the pandemic is relevant both for Ukraine and for the whole world. In our country, the number of COVID-19 cases is growing daily. And although the immunization of the population is quite active, none of the vaccines guarantees that a person will not get sick. The issue of prevention and treatment of COVID-19 in the early stages is now extremely relevant,” the scientists said, following the results of the scientific and practical conference entitled “New Treatment Strategies for COVID-19,” organized by the pharmaceutical company Farmak (Kyiv).
At the conference, scientists discussed the development of new and effective existing medicines that help treat patients with COVID-19. In particular, they paid special attention to the results of studies of antiviral drugs that demonstrated a therapeutic effect, shared their experience of partnership in the development of a direct-acting antiviral drug, talked about the prospects for the development of other antiviral drugs.
“How do antiviral drugs work? The virus is much smaller than bacteria, but this does not prevent it from destroying cells. People often mistakenly believe that antibiotics can neutralize the virus, but this is not the case. It is important to understand that antibiotics are effective only against certain types of bacteria. Antiviral agents are used to quickly and effectively deal with the virus. At the beginning of the disease, they reduce the symptoms and shorten the duration of the disease. It should also be understood that such drugs prevent it from multiplying,” the scientists said.
Italian scientist, doctor of the Ronzoni Institute for Chemical and Biochemical Research Stefano Elli, in particular, said that antiviral drugs have great potential in the fight against a pandemic. He presented a study showing the effect of Enisamium on SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19). Enisamium is better known as the active ingredient of Farmak pharmaceutical company.
“According to the results of preclinical and clinical studies, Enisamium has confirmed its effectiveness. Prescribing the drug to patients with moderate severity of COVID-19 made it possible to alleviate the course of the disease in the subjects, prevent the deterioration of its clinical condition, avoid deaths and shorten the length of hospital stay,” Elli said.
According to the representative of the state enterprise State Expert Center Pavlo Babich, the positive experience of using this drug is confirmed by the results of a study on its use among patients with moderate COVID-19.
“Studies have shown that an antiviral drug successfully used in the treatment of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections in 11 countries of the world and, as it was recently established, by the joint efforts of scientists from Ukraine, Germany, the U.K., is also clinically effective in moderate COVID-19. Indeed, the drug has a wide spectrum of antiviral action against RNA viruses that cause acute respiratory diseases by inhibiting the RNA polymerase enzyme of the virus, under the influence of which it replicates,” he said.
“According to the results of research by scientists from the United States, Italy and Ukraine, it can be summarized that antiviral drugs are a powerful weapon in overcoming and preventing the negative consequences of COVID-19,” the scientists said.
Ukraine has registered 23,283 new cases of COVID-19, as well as 16,277 recoveries and 816 deaths in the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Health Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.“Over the past day, November 9, Ukraine has recorded 23,283 new cases of COVID-19 (including 1,539 children and 529 medical workers), while 267,401 people have received a coronavirus vaccine, among them 150,663 persons who received the first shot and 116,738 who completed their vaccination. In the past 24 hours, 5,696 persons were hospitalized, 816 died, and 16,277 recovered,” the ministry said on Telegram. Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, Ukraine has seen a total of 3,130,772 coronavirus infections, including 2,553,842 recoveries and 74,206 deaths. As of this day, 11,697,386 people have been vaccinated for COVID-19, including 11,697,384 who have received the first shot and 8,154.792 who have completed their vaccination (among them two persons who received the first shot abroad). A total of 19,852,176 shots have been administered to date.
A COVID certificate can be generated on the 15th day after the diagnosis of COVID-19 is established within 105 days.
This is confirmed by changes in the procedure for the formation and use of a COVID certificate confirming vaccination against COVID-19, as well as a negative test result or a person’s recovery from this disease.
The adopted changes, in particular, provide that a COVID certificate can be generated no more than twice in one calendar year (if it is technically possible to record the generated COVID certificates).
As reported, in the last four days of October, Ukrainians generated 1 million COVID certificates in the Diia application, their total number has already reached 5 million and continues to grow.
Earlier, the government made it easier to obtain COVID-certificates in Diia: now this does not require an electronic signature, in particular, Diia.Signature, which required proof of identity using a Photo ID.
