Ukraine in January-October 2018 exported electricity worth $266.113 million, including $28.728 million in October alone.
Hungary bought electricity worth $154.69 million, Poland $62.684 million, Moldova $42.169 million, other countries $6.57 million, Ukraine’s State Fiscal Service has said.
Exports of Ukrainian electricity in monetary terms in January-October 2018 increased by 27.1% compared to the same period in 2017 ($209.293 million).
Over the period under review, Ukraine imported electricity worth $1.22 million, in particular, electricity imports from the Russian Federation were estimated at $1.156 million, from Belarus at $0.058 million, from Moldova at $0.006 million.
As reported, Ukraine plans in 2018 to increase exports of electricity to the EU and Moldova by 13.3% from 2017 to 5.855 billion kWh. According to the forecast for 2018, deliveries from the Burshtyn TPP energy island to Hungary, Slovakia, Romania will be 3.6 billion kWh, to Poland 1.2 billion kWh, and to Moldova 1.055 billion kWh.
Ukraine in January-September 2018 exported electricity worth $237.385 million, including $24.005 million in September alone.
Hungary bought electricity worth $139.952 million, Poland $54.863 million, Moldova $37.01 million, other countries $5.559 million, Ukraine’s State Fiscal Service has said.
Exports of Ukrainian electricity in monetary terms in January-September 2018 increased by 25.2% compared to the same period in 2017 ($189.608 million).
Over the period under review, Ukraine imported electricity worth $1.133 million, in particular, electricity imports from the Russian Federation were estimated at $1.075 million, from Belarus at $0.052 million, from Moldova at $0.006 million.

Electricity production in the united energy system of Ukraine in January-August 2018 increased by 2.1% (2.122 billion kWh) compared to the same period in 2017, to 104.285 billion kWh, the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry has told Interfax-Ukraine. Nuclear power plants (NPP) in the period reduced electricity production by 7.2%, to 54.111 billion kWh, in particular, electricity generation at Zaporizhia NPP amounted to 24.873 billion kWh (2.6% more compared to January-August 2017), Yuzhnoukrainsk NPP some 10.402 billion kWh (3.5% less), Rivne NPP to 9.435 billion kWh (25.3% less), Khmelnytsky NPP to 9.408 billion kWh (11.8% less).
Thermal power plants (TPP), as well as combined heat and power plants (CHPP) and cogeneration plants increased production by 10.3%, to 38.070 billion kWh. In particular, the generating companies of TPPs raised production by 11.7%, to 31.038 billion kWh, while CHPP and cogeneration plants by 4.6%, to 7.032 billion kWh.
Hydroelectric and hydroelectric pumped storage power plants increased generation by 32.5%, to 9.398 billion kWh, while block stations decreased it by 0.3%, to 970.3 million kWh.
Electricity production by non-traditional sources (wind power plants, solar stations, biomass) for the eight months increased by 37.5%, to 1.730 billion kWh.
The share of nuclear power plants in the structure of electricity production was 51.9% (in January-August 2017 some 57.1%), TPPs, CHPPs and cogeneration plants some 36.5% (33.8%), hydroelectric and hydroelectric pumped storage power plants some 9% (6.9%), block stations 0.9% (1%), and alternative sources 1.7% (1.2%).

Ukraine in January-July 2018 increased electricity exports by 3.1% compared to the same period in 2017, to 3.626 billion kWh, the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry has told Interfax-Ukraine. The supply of electricity from the Burshtyn TPP energy island towards Hungary, Slovakia and Romania rose by 14.2%, to 2.296 billion kWh.
Electricity deliveries to Poland were up by 15.6%, to 831.9 million kWh.
Electricity deliveries to Moldova totaled 498.9 million kWh, which is 36.7% less than in January-July 2017.
Ukrainian electricity was not exported to Belarus and Russia in January-July 2017 and 2018.
At the same time, in July 2018 exports of Ukrainian electricity amounted to 491.248 million kWh, which is 38.4% more than in July 2017.
In addition, Ukraine for the first seven months of this year imported 20.436 million kWh of electricity.
Ukraine in January-June 2018 reduced electricity exports by 0.9%, or 28.602 million kWh, compared to the same period in 2017, to 3.135 billion kWh, Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry told Interfax-Ukraine. However, electricity supplies from the so-called energy island of the Burshtyn thermal power station, towards Hungary, Slovakia and Romania grew by 8.4%, or 154.737 million kWh, to 2.008 billion kWh.
Electricity sales to Poland increased by 17.5%, or 107.779 million kWh, to 723.331 million kWh. Electricity exports to Moldova were 403.986 million kWh, which was 41.9%, or 291.111 million kWh, down on January-June 2017.
In June 2018 alone, exports of Ukrainian electricity stood at 481.772 million kWh, which was 11.6% down on June 2017 (545.058 million kWh). Ukraine did not sell electricity to Belarus and Russia in January-June of 2017 and 2018. In the first six months of this year, Ukraine imported 18.129 million kWh of electricity, namely 17.417 million kWh from Russia and 0.712 million kWh from Belarus. The imports are recorded in SE Energomarket’s contracts as in-process transfers.
