New US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink has received a Ukrainian visa. Now she will be able to arrive at the embassy in Kyiv, said Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova.
“It is a great pleasure to issue a visa and meet with a colleague – the new US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brinks. Ukraine has always had the best leaders of the American diplomatic mission, who were not only highly professional diplomats, but also wonderful people and examples of public service. And this time, I did not exception!” Markarova wrote on Facebook on Saturday, noting that she “expects active joint work at a defining time in our struggle for independence and democracy!”
The Romanian Embassy in Ukraine has resumed work in Kyiv, Romanian Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu said.
“Very glad to announce that starting today the Romanian Embassy in Kyiv has resumed its activity on the ground. Romania fully stands with its partner Ukraine in its bold fight for freedom!” Aurescu wrote on Twitter on Saturday.
The German Embassy in Ukraine has resumed work in Kyiv.
“We are back! Yesterday, the German Embassy resumed its work in Kyiv. Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock raised the German flag in front of the Embassy building,” the Embassy said on Twitter on Wednesday.
The Greek Embassy in Ukraine resumes its work in Kyiv, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece said.
“The Greek Embassy in Kyiv, whose leadership left the city for security reasons shortly after Russia invaded Ukraine, is reopening in the city with the necessary staff,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website Tuesday.
The Embassy, together with the Consulate General in Odesa, which operates as usual, will continue to provide assistance to Greek citizens, as well as expatriates in Ukraine.
The German Embassy will resume work in Kyiv, German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock has said.
“Today we are also here, reopening our German embassy in Kyiv. At first it will be a limited activity. I am very glad that I am here with the Ambassador, Anka Feldhusen. She is accompanying me and she will continue to work in your free city” , Burbock said at a press conference with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba in Kyiv on Tuesday.
The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Ukraine will resume work in Kyiv on May 5, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea has reported.
“Our embassy is preparing to resume its activities on May 5 and plans to carry out diplomatic affairs and protect foreign citizens in Kyiv in close cooperation with the government of Ukraine,” the Korean Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Sunday.
As noted, Ambassador Kim Hyung Tae and some employees who have been working in a temporary office in Chernivtsi have already returned to Kyiv. The remaining staff in temporary offices in Chernivtsi and Romania are considering a plan for a phased return to Kyiv, while monitoring the local situation going forward.
