The Irish low cost airline Ryanair (Dublin) intends to carry more than 2.1 million passengers on Ukrainian flights in 2020, which is 33% more than in 2019.
This was announced by Ryanair Chief Commercial Officer David O’Brien at a briefing with Infrastructure Minister Vladyslav Krykliy in Kyiv.
According to him, in 2020 Ryanair plans to open 18 routes in Ukraine, two of which are new from Lviv to Budapest and from Kharkiv to Warsaw (twice a week). In 2020, the company will operate 43 routes from Ukraine.
Ryanair entered the Ukrainian market in 2018. The first months the low cost carrier operated flights from Boryspil and Lviv airports. In June 2019, the airline began flights from Kharkiv and Odesa.
Ryanair daily operates over 2,400 flights to/from 200 airports located in 37 countries. Last fiscal year, the company transported 130.3 million people. Its fleet has 460 Boeing-737 aircraft.

Ukrainian low-cost SkyUp Airlines will launch flights to Tel Aviv (Israel) from Lviv and Zaporizhia from November 28, 2019.
As the company’s press service said on Tuesday, Lviv Tel Aviv flights will be operated twice a week: on Thursdays and Sundays. The cost of a one-way ticket without baggage currently starts from UAH 2,400.
Flights Zaporizhia-Tel Aviv will also be operated on Thursdays and Sundays. The cost of a one-way ticket without baggage currently starts from UAH 2,300.
The transfer of flights from Kyiv International Airport (Zhuliany) to Boryspil International Airport in Kyiv region from September 2 to September 12, 2019 won’t affect regularity of other flights from Boryspil. First Deputy Director General of Boryspil airport Yevhen Dykhne wrote on his page in Facebook.
According to him, the flights of ten air companies, which regularly fly from Kyiv airport, will be shared between the terminals D and F of Boryspil airport.
In particular, passengers of Alitalia, Pegasus Airlines, Motor Sich, Belavia и LOT will depart from terminal D.
Passengers of Wizz Air, Ernest Airlines, Buta Airways, Jonika Airlines, Vueling Airlines will depart from terminal F.
As earlier reported, Kyiv airport will halt its work for reception and departure of flights from September 2 to September 12 because of maintenance of a landing strip.

Hungary’s low cost Wizz Air airline in autumn 2019 will launch flights to seven new destinations: six from Odesa and one from Lviv, Paulina Gosk, corporate communications manager at Wizz Air, said at a briefing in Odesa. According to her, from Odesa, in particular, twice a week from November flights will be operated to Budapest (Hungary), Berlin (Germany), Bratislava (Slovakia), Wroclaw, Gdansk, and Katowice (all are in Poland).
In addition, on October 28, it is planned to launch the Lviv-Larnaca (Cyprus) flights.
“In 2019, 17 new destinations from Ukraine were opened,” Gosk said.
The airline expects that thanks to the increase in the number of destinations, 2.6 million seats will be sold this year, and in general, 53 destinations will be covered from Ukraine by the end of 2019, Gosk said.
As reported, in January-July 2019, Wizz Air transported 1.3 million passengers from and to Ukraine and this is almost twice as much compared to the same period in 2018.
