SkyUp (Kyiv) will start flights to Berlin (Germany) from March 29.
The press service of the airline said on Tuesday that the flights will be to the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport Willy Brandt on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
“Germany will become one of the new destinations of our summer navigation, which we are preparing to announce in the near future,” SkyUp said.
For comfortable and safe travel, the airline recommends to additionally check the current rules for entry and vacation in the airline flight program countries on the eve of departure.
In 2019, SkyUp Airlines performed 12,198 flights and carried more than 1.7 million passengers (the shares of regular and charter flights of the total number of flights were almost the same).
In the next five years, the air carrier planned to increase its share of the Ukrainian air transportation market up to 50%.
Skyup Airlines LLC was registered in Kyiv in June 2016. The founder is Tetiana and Yuriy Alba’s ACS-Ukraine LLC, which also owns the JoinUp! tour operator.
Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) performed 8,981 regular flights and 2,728 charter flights in January-September.
As noted in a message posted on the airline’s website on Tuesday, October 20, UIA continues to restore its flight network, despite epidemiological restrictions that have limited aviation operations.
During the period from January to September 2020, the airline performed 8,981 scheduled flights, 2,728 charter flights and carried 1.451 million passengers.
The number of passengers on UIA regular flights during this period amounted to 1.005 million, and on charter flights to 446,480.
“The percentage of transit for the nine months is 40% (taking into account all regular flights). The volume of cargo transportation (both on regular and charter flights) is 3,616 tonnes,” the report says.
In the first nine months of 2020, UIA serves 46 routes (including both regular and charter flights).
In September, the airline operated 466 regular and 772 charter flights, carried 171,713 passengers (of which 37,800 were on regular flights and 133,900 on charter flights).
The percentage of transit on airline flights in September 2020 amounted to 22%.
The volume of cargo transportation amounted to 176,263 tonnes.
UIA closely monitors the development of the epidemiological situation in each country to which it operates flights and declares its readiness to gradually restore the route network while improving epidemiological indicators and obtaining permits for flights.
SkyUp (Kyiv) for the period from December 23, 2020 to January 30, 2021, will launch a flight on the Kyiv-Sofia (Bulgaria)-Kyiv route.
According to the company’s website, flights will be operated twice a week: on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Ticket prices for the Kyiv-Sofia flights start from UAH 1,248 without luggage, Sofia-Kyiv from UAH 1,062 without luggage.
SkyUp notes that from October 1 to November 30, 2020, Bulgaria canceled mandatory self-isolation for Ukrainian citizens who arrive in the country. To cross the border, one must have a negative PCR test done no later than 72 hours before travel.
The company also added that the requirements for winter travel are still unknown, so it is necessary to additionally check the current rules of entry and rest on the eve of departure.
Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air will resume flights from Kyiv and Lviv to Bratislava (Slovakia) from October 2.
The cost of tickets starts from UAH 309, the press service of the company reported on Wednesday.
“The restoration of flights depends on the decision of the authorities to leave or remove Slovakia from the list of countries in the ‘green’ zone. If it is excluded from the list, flights connecting Ukrainian cities with Bratislava will be postponed,” the company said.
The largest Polish air carrier LOT from September 1 increases the frequency of flights from Lviv to Warsaw from seven to 12 per week.
Flights will be operated twice a day: on Monday morning, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening and Monday evening, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening, the international airport Lviv named after Danylo Halytsky reported on Facebook on Tuesday.
So, in the morning, departure from Warsaw is scheduled for 12:35, arrival in Lviv – at 13:35. Departure from Lviv is scheduled at 14:25, and arrival in Warsaw – at 15:25.
In the evening, departure from Warsaw is scheduled for 16:40, arrival in Lviv – at 17:40. Departure from Lviv at 18:30, and arrival in Warsaw – 19:30.
Scandinavian airlines have resumed regular flights to Boryspil International Airport (Kyiv region).
The airport’s website said on Tuesday that the airline plans to operate flights from Boryspil International Airport to Oslo International Airport once a week on Tuesdays.
