RibasHotels Group LLC (Odesa), the managing company of the national network of tourist hotel and restaurant complexes of 3-4-star categories, opened a four-star RibasKarpaty hotel in Bukovel (162a Vyshni Street, Polianytsia village, Ivano-Frankivsk region), which became the first facility of the company outside the Black Sea coast.
“In this project, we also acted as a developer who realized the purchase of the site, design and construction of the facility. And in the future we will manage the hotel under the Ribas brand … The site was acquired in early 2019, construction began in May of the same year and it was completed on December 12,” said founder of Ribas Hotels Group Artur Lupashko during an online briefing on Tuesday.
The hotel originally bore the working title of Ribas Bukovel, but Bukovel Group of Companies officially requested not to use the resort brand in the hotel name.
The total area of the Ribas Karpaty hotel is 3,200 square meters, hotel room capacity is 47 rooms. The hotel infrastructure includes the LIS restaurant with access to the terrace, coworking space with panoramic mountain views, swimming pool, Finnish and Roman saunas, jacuzzi, massage rooms, SPA area, and a children’s room.
The total investment in the project was about UAH 100 million, the estimated payback period is 9-11 years.
As reported, in 2020, the management company Ribas Hotels Group (Odesa) became an investor in the Mandra glamping network and plans to expand it to 20-25 franchising facilities.
Ribas Hotels Group LLC was established in 2017. According to the unified public register, Lupashko is the head and owner of a 100% stake in the charter capital of the company.
The Board of Directors of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) has approved the allocation of $27 million for building Sheraton Hotel in Kyiv.
“A $27 million loan will support the construction and operation of a Sheraton hotel in Kyiv, Ukraine that will create jobs, build local supply chains, and encourage trade, investment, and economic growth,” DFC said in a press release.
The construction of the five-star Sheraton Kyiv Olympiysky hotel in the territory of the Olympiysky Stadium is being carried out by Construction Investment Company TM, which signed a hotel management agreement with the hotel operator Marriott Hotels & Resort.
According to the company’s website, Sheraton Kyiv Olympiysky is a 14-storey building with 196 rooms, 178 of which are standard rooms and deluxe rooms, 15 luxury rooms, two rooms for people with disabilities and one presidential room. The infrastructure includes an underground parking for 144 cars.
Construction Investment Company TM was founded in 2004, its core business is construction of residential and non-residential buildings.
The State Property Fund of Ukraine this spring will put the Dnipro Hotel located downtown Kyiv at the starting price of $10 million. “In order for its [the hotel’s] final cost to increase at times, a new director, Elina Sapozhkova, has been recently appointed,” the fund said on its website.
According to Sapozhkova, who previously had experience in opening, developing and managing hotels of the international chains Rezidor Hotel Group, IHG, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Hyatt, the main value of the Dnipro Hotel is its location on European Square in the center of Kyiv and the views from the rooms.
The fund said that it has 23 large facilities for privatization, of which five are planned to be completed this year.
Ribas Hotels Group LLC (Odesa), the managing company of the national network of three- and four-star tourist hotel and restaurant complexes, has signed an agreement to manage the Bautzen hotel in Jelenia Gora (Poland). “The management company of Ribas Hotels Group has developed a concept and corporate style for the hospitality facility in the Polish city of Jelenia Gora and signed a management agreement. The opening is scheduled for spring 2021,” the company told Interfax-Ukraine.
According to Ribas Hotels Group, after the launch, the three-star hotel will include 23 rooms. The object will be the first one in the operator’s portfolio outside Ukraine.
The company noted that in order to increase the profitability of the facility, it was decided to reduce staff costs by creating a contactless reception desk, introducing the position of a curator of the facility, which helps conduct check-in if necessary.
“Most guests check in on their own, through the terminal, a lock system that will be installed on the doors. A specialist from the hotel will be 24/7 online chatting and communicating with guests, as well as advising guests who did not use to this service format,” the company said.
In addition, Ribas Hotels Group decided to abandon the traditional list of additional services that are not in demand. In particular, in Bautzen there will be no minibars, they will be replaced by vending machines with snacks and various prepared meals in the common areas of the hotel.
According to estimates by Ribas Hotels Group, the planned estimated return on investment in the opening of Bautzen is 5-7% per annum.
!FEST holding of emotions (Lviv) plans on December 13 to launch the first hotel project in its portfolio – the seven-storey !FEST hotel with 69 rooms, a restaurant and a cafe, the company’s press service has told Interfax-Ukraine. “On December 13, 2019 we are opening a new business project in the holding of emotions !FEST – the first hotel. We thought that it needed a modern visual language to communicate with our guests. And we decided to make the facade of the hotel with corten steel, which over time under the influence of weather factors will turn into an art object in Lviv,” co-owner of the holding Andriy Khudo said.
The object will be located on the site of the former office of the company at 15a Lemkivska Street. The seven-storey hotel includes 69 rooms, a restaurant, a cafe and various services, including the ability to order branded products presented in the holding’s restaurants, namely beer, chocolate, cherry liquor, etc.
The holding of emotions !FEST was founded in 2007 and is developing a network of creative restaurants, coffee houses and shops in Ukraine.
One of the first opened objects of the holding is the restaurant Kryivka in Lviv, among other establishments with the original concept are Masoch-Cafe, Lvivska Kopalnia Kavy, Rebernia, etc.
!FEST also develops residential construction, the apartments Just Lviv It, a network of stores, catering, etc.
The owners of the !FEST holding are Andriy Khudo, Yuriy Nazaruk, and Dmytro Herasimov.
The international hotel operator Accor (France) has signed a management contract for the Swissotel Living hotel at 13 Luteranska Street in Pechersky district of Kyiv, the opening of which is scheduled for 2021-2022. “This will be an aparthotel designed for long and medium-term accommodation (extended stay). The owner of the hotel and Accor believe that this format has good prospects in the city,” Accor New East Europe Development Director Yekateryna Marchenko told Interfax-Ukraine.
The object will be housed in a historic building near Khreschatyk Street, after restoration it will have 58 rooms.
The expert noted that before joining the Accor chain, the Swissotel brand already made attempts to enter the Ukrainian hotel market, but the planned projects were not implemented.
