The international chain JYSK opened a new store in Ivano-Frankivsk on Thursday in the Veles Mall (225a Vovchynetska Street), the retailer’s press service reported.
“The store is located on the ground floor next to the bomb shelter and is provided with alternative power sources,” said JYSK Country Director in Ukraine Yevhen Ivanitsa, emphasizing the priority in terms of safe shopping.
The store implements the modern JYSK 3.0 concept, with a selling area of 1,038 square meters, warehouse space of 388 square meters, and 40.85 square meters of office space.
This is the third JYSK store in Ivano-Frankivsk and 98 in Ukraine. In the financial year 2025, which starts in September, the chain plans to open 8 more new stores and renovate 12 existing ones. JYSK in Ukraine has more than 800 employees.
JYSK is part of the family-owned Lars Larsen Group with more than 3.4 thousand stores in 48 countries. JYSK’s revenue in the financial year 2022/23 amounted to EUR 5.2 billion.
Ukrzaliznytsia JSC is introducing additional flights between Kyiv, Lviv, and Ivano-Frankivsk on February 16-18 in response to increased demand, the company reports.
“Although February is traditionally considered a ‘low’ season of mobility, we have recorded an increase in demand for travel on February 16-18. Therefore, we are already promptly scheduling additional flights between Kyiv, Lviv, and Ivano-Frankivsk, which will consist exclusively of new cars,” Ukrzaliznytsia said in a statement on its Telegram channel on Tuesday.
Reportedly, the number of seats on the Kyiv-Lviv-Ivano-Frankivsk route will be increased by train #195/196, which will depart Kyiv on February 16 and 18 at 07:37, Lviv at 14:46-15:06, and arrive in Ivano-Frankivsk at 18:18. The train will depart back from Ivano-Frankivsk on February 16 and 18 at 19:25, Lviv at 21:54 – 23:05, arriving in Kyiv the next day at 06:19.
“On February 16 and 18, train #192/191 Lviv-Kyiv will depart from Lviv to Kyiv, departing from the city of Lviv at 11:55 a.m. and arriving in the capital at 22:09 p.m.,” Ukrzaliznytsia informs.
Tourist collection of Ivano-Frankivsk region in January-October 2022 amounted to 15.3 million UAH, which is 80.2% more than in the same period last year.

Communal enterprise Elektroavtotrans (Ivano-Frankivsk), together with the European Investment Bank (EIB), has announced a tender for the purchase of new trolleybuses with a possibility of making at least 10 km in off-wire mode with a length of 16.5 meters to 18.54 meters (articulated) for EUR 3.615 million.
According to the procurement announcement posted in ProZorro, it is planned to supply new low-floor dual-mode trolleybuses of a three-axle model with a width of no more than 2.5 meters excluding side mirrors and a height of no more than 3.8 meters. Total passenger capacity is at least 120 people, the number of seats is 38, including four seats for priority category passenger and the number of places for wheelchair is at least one.
The procurement also includes spare parts, maintenance equipment and related services.
The first delivery of the dual-mode trolleybuses is scheduled for no later than 36 weeks from the date of receipt of the advance payment, the execution of the contract is no later than 56 weeks.
According to the announcement, price is not the only award criterion and all criteria are stated only in the procurement documents.
The time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is until March 16, 2022.
The trolleybuses for Ivano-Frankivsk are procured within the framework of the Ukraine Urban Public Transport Project at the expense of the EIB and a grant from the European Union.
According to local media reports, the city planned to purchase at least eight dual-mode electric buses for these funds.
The Ukraine Urban Public Transport Project is a financial agreement between Ukraine and the EIB, ratified in April 2017. It provides for the implementation of 21 subprojects for the development of urban passenger transport in 11 cities.
Enterprise with foreign investments McDonald’s Ukraine Ltd. (Kyiv), which develops the American fast food chain McDonald’s in Ukraine, opened a restaurant of the chain at 2, Ivan Mykolaichuk Street in Ivano-Frankovsk on April 17.
According to the press service of the company, the new McDonald’s is designed for 185 seats in the hall and 82 seats on the terrace. The restaurant is equipped with two McDrive lines, delivery areas and express orders. The hall includes 12 self-service terminals and sorting stations for separate waste collection.

The epidemic situation in Volyn, Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Odesa, Rivne, Sumy, Kharkiv and Chernivtsi regions does not meet the criteria for easing lockdown, the Health Ministry said on its website on Tuesday.
