JYSK opens one more store in Ukraine

On Thursday, July 28, a chain of furniture and household goods stores JYSK opened a store in the Maidan shopping center in Chervonohrad (Lviv region), the retailer’s press service told Interfax-Ukraine.
The press service said that JYSK occupied a space for a store with an area of 982 square meters in the Maidan shopping center and the storage space of 282 square meters.
“We at JYSK believe that by continuing to develop business under martial law, the company contributes to the economy of Ukraine and its future victory. Since the beginning of the war, each opening of a new JYSK store or the resumption of a damaged JYSK store has been accompanied by charity events. This time we would like to draw public attention to the importance of full psychological and metal rehabilitation of our wounded defenders,” JYSK Country Manager in Ukraine Yevhen Ivanitsa said.
The retailer will hold a charity event together with the NGO Space of Opportunities starts a charity event. All customers of the network can take part in it by purchasing patriotic stickers. All proceeds will be transferred to the rehabilitation of the defenders of Ukraine.
According to the press service, the previous charity activity in the sale of patriotic stickers made it possible to collect more than UAH 230,000 in a week.

JYSK PLANS TO OPEN NEW STORES IN UKRAINE

JYSK, a chain of furniture and home goods stores, plans to open a new store in Lviv on June 16, in Chervonohrad and Rivne in July, the company’s press service has reported.
“Under any circumstances, we aim to restore the operation of all stores that worked before the outbreak of hostilities. I will say more, at the beginning of the war, a process to open seven new JYSK stores in different parts of Ukraine was launched. Despite the uncertainty of martial law, the company is already considering the possibilities on the implementation of plans to open some of them,” Yevhen Ivanitsa, Country Manager of JYSK in Ukraine, is quoted as saying.
New stores will be opened in the Fabrik shopping center in Lviv, the Maidan shopping center in Chervonohrad, and the HAPPY Mall shopping center in Rivne.
In addition, in June the company reopens a store in the Retroville shopping center in Kyiv, and in July it is planned to reopen a store in the Vostorg shopping center in Kharkiv.
Stores have been restored wherever it is safe for customers and employees, JYSK said. At the same time, significantly damaged chain stores and those located in the temporarily occupied territories do not operate.
The damage and losses of the network have not yet been calculated, but it is supposedly about tens of millions of hryvnias, the company said.
“There are completely destroyed stores in Hostomel and Kherson, there are significantly damaged stores in Odesa – in the Riviera shopping center, Kyiv – Retroville shopping center, Kharkiv – Vostorg shopping center, there are looted stores in Bucha and Melitopol, there are shops in the occupied zone – Nova Kakhovka, Melitopol, Kherson,” Ivanitsa said.

DANISH JYSK INCREASES SALES IN UKRAINE BY 23%

Jysk Ukraine LLC (Kyiv), which develops a chain of stores of furniture and household goods (Denmark) in Ukraine, increased sales in Ukraine in the 2020 financial year (September 1, 2019-August 31, 2020) by 23.8% compared to the previous fiscal year, to UAH 2.319 billion.
“The fiscal year of 2020 has ended. Dramatic, unpredictable, but the best in Jysk history: despite the coronavirus, Jysk achieved a record turnover of EUR 4.1 billion, up 7.6% from FY 2019,” Executive Director of Jysk in Ukraine Yevhen Ivanytsia said on LinkedIn.
This is the result of strong pre-coronavirus sales in Europe and Asia and a significant increase in sales compared to the previous period in customer numbers after the company was allowed to reopen stores, he noted.
In particular, following the results of Jysk’s work in 2020 fiscal year in Ukraine, it posted a turnover of UAH 2.319 billion (23.8% more), 13 new stores were opened. Thus, currently there are 67 stores and an online store in Ukraine. The staff is 637 people.
As reported, Jysk Ukraine LLC plans to open 12 new objects annually, and in four financial years to increase the network to 100 stores.
The Jysk network began to develop in Ukraine in 2004 according to the franchising model. In 2012, the parent company bought out all the franchise stores and started developing independently.

JYSK FROM DENMARK PLANS TO BOOST SALES IN UKRAINE

Jysk Ukraine LLC (Kyiv), developing the JYSK furniture and household goods store chain of Jysk Group (Denmark), plans next fiscal year (September 1, 2019 – August 31, 2020) to boost sales in Ukraine by 20% compared with the previous year figure. “We plan sales growth in the next fiscal year by 20% thanks to better service, better range of products choice and prices. In this case, we are talking only about growth in comparative stores. Plus, there is a plan to open 12 new stores,” Jysk Executive Director Yevhen Ivanitsa told Interfax-Ukraine.
According to him, the net sales growth (for comparative stores) of the network in Ukraine in 2018/2019 fiscal year amounted to 23.6%. In general, according to the results of the year, the gross increase in the network’s turnover amounted to more than 45%, being more than UAH 2 billion. Payment of taxes grew by a third, to UAH 200 million.
According to Jysk, last year the network expanded by 12 outlets and now has 54 stores in 25 cities of Ukraine.

JYSK FROM DENMARK OPENS SIX STORES AFTER RESTYLING

JYSK Ukraine LLC (Kyiv), developing the furniture and home goods store chain in Ukraine of the JYSK Group (Denmark), on March 7, 2019 opened six stores in Zhytomyr, Dnipro, Kherson, Odesa and Kyiv after their restyling and plans to launch the XL format store in Kyiv’s Retroville shopping and entertainment center.
“We have a standard store format of 1,000 square meters of retail space and 200 square meters of warehouse space. We also have a city format of 500 square meters. It works in other markets, but we do not bring it in Ukraine yet, since we have enough space for the development of the main format. And we have XL format of about 2,000 square meters. It allows us to expose furniture, including from the online assortment, which we cannot put in the usual format. In the Retroville shopping and entertainment center, we plan to open the XL format,” Executive Director of JYSK in Ukraine Yevhen Ivanitsa told at a press conference in Kyiv.
According to him, the company has completely updated the JYSK stores in the Ukraine Department Store shopping mall in Kyiv and the Fontan Sky center in Odesa in accordance with the new concept 3.0. The retail area of the stores will be the same: 903 square meters and 982 square meters respectively, while the interior design is completely changed.
In addition, the retailer overhauled four stores: the Poliarny shopping center (Kyiv), the Global.UA shopping center (Zhytomyr), in Sicheslavska Naberezhna Street (Dnipro), and SEC Factory (Kherson).
“We are planning to open the next store in Kamianets-Podilsky, as we continue to go to the regions. We are opening the second store in Chernihiv, a store in the Dream Town shopping center in May. It will be the 50th store in Ukraine. We also have a lease agreement with Kyiv shopping centers Retroville and Novus (on Zdolbunivska Street),” Ivanitsa said.
At the same time, he said that the share of online sales of JYSK in Ukraine, including the order online and pick up service, is more than 10%.
In general, the company intends to maintain the pace of opening stores in Ukraine and launch 12 new facilities this fiscal year, and in four fiscal years to increase the network to 100 stores.

DANISH JYSK EXPANDS NETWORK IN UKRAINE

JYSK Ukraine LLC (Kyiv), developing a network of JYSK furniture and household goods stores in Ukraine, will open the fifth store in Odesa, thus expanding the network in the country to 48 stores. According to the company’s press release, the store with an area of 990 square meters will open in the City Center shopping center in Odesa on December 20.
The facility will operate in the new 3.0 format for the JYSK network: it provides more space, light, an expanded assortment and updated cash desk zones.
“The 3.0 format was introduced in September. And now there are two such stores in Odesa. We took a good pace: 11 JYSK stores were opened in 2018, four of which are in the new format. Next year we will continue to dynamically expand the network in different regions of Ukraine,” Executive Director of JYSK in Ukraine Yevhen Ivanytsia said.
As reported, JYSK Ukraine plans in 2018 to open up to 12 new outlets in the country.
The JYSK network began to develop in Ukraine in 2004. As of November 29, 2018, the network had 47 stores in 20 cities, as well as an online store.
