A new educational institution of the KAN Development educational network, Architectural and Engineering Collegium A+ (AIC+), opened in Kiev on Monday. The collegium is designed for 680 students, the company’s representatives said at the opening of AIC+. The area of the building is 13.1 thousand square meters, the total area of the training center is 3.30 hectares, of which 4 thousand sq. m. – shelter area. The training center is located on the territory of the residential neighborhood “Faina Town” in Kiev.
The company explained that the project is a conceptual educational complex that combines kindergarten, primary, secondary school, specialized lyceum and extracurricular activities in engineering, IT and architecture.
KAN added that $23 million was invested directly in the collegium, while the construction of each school shelter cost almost UAH 65 million.
As of today, KAN Development has invested over $100 million in educational institutions.
AIC+ became the 15th educational institution of the A+ network, where 3 thousand children study in full-day format and 700 teachers teach.
A+ activities began in 2005 at the initiative of Ivanna Nikonova. To date, the A+ educational network consists of three elementary school, two secondary schools, four kindergartens, three children’s clubs, a distance education center, a sports and music school and a wide range of extracurricular studios.
K.A.N. (Kyiv) in 2020 reduced its net profit by 24% compared to the previous year, to UAH 98.9 million.
According to the company’s annual report in the information disclosure system of the National Securities and Stock Market Commission, its revenue increased by 8.3% and amounted to UAH 303.6 million.
Uncovered loss in 2020 decreased by 40.6%, to UAH 144.4 million, current liabilities – by 80%, to UAH 51.4 million, long-term liabilities over the year did not change and amounted to UAH 447.9 million.
In general, the assets of K.A.N. last year decreased by 13.5%, to UAH 674.8 million.
K.A.N. established in 2001, it is engaged in the rental and operation of its own real estate. According to the data of the unified state register of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs, the owner of the company is Deverte Holding GmbH (Austria).
The registered capital of К.А.N. for April 2021 is UAH 23,600, the ultimate owner is Oleksandr Spektor (Kyiv).
KAN Development (Kyiv), which develops the Academy of Modern Education A+ network, is considering the possibility of implementing a project for a higher educational institution with a medical direction, founder and head of the educational network Ivanna Nikonova has said.
“We have already begun to think about higher education. Because, in my opinion, Ukraine has a good secondary education, but there is simply no high-quality higher education. On the one hand, schools graduate fairly well-trained students, and there is nowhere to go. A good university is practice from the first year. We really understand that our higher education is losing, especially now against the background of quarantine,” Nikonova told Interfax-Ukraine.
She believes that the medical direction of higher education in Ukraine is promising and relevant.
“We are considering a higher educational institution related to medicine. The country needs doctors now, and we need to invest money in them … We even have a Doctor+ program in kindergartens. From an early age, children study science within the framework of the Think Room. It includes medicine. Now it is very important,” the expert said.
KAN Development (Kyiv) is designing two projects of gated residential communities in Kyiv, which will have a house for rental, the founder of the company, Ihor Nikonov, has said. “We have acquired two land parcels for projects of gated residential communities. We are currently developing them. However, we cannot predict whether there will be demand. We just have to take and make a new product on the market: housing in private houses within the city. I’ll say right ow this will not be townhouses – they did not take root in our market,” he said in an exclusive interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
According to him, the land area is approximately 30 hectares. Both projects are designed for 160-200 houses. Infrastructure will include a kindergarten with an elementary school, a kids club, a restaurant, and a swimming pool.
“We are trying to make a rental house under the project, where one can rent apartments for staff or relatives who have come to stay. All these are attributes of a comfortable life. I personally try to develop the concept of life without a car. It will be our goal in new projects. To live constantly on wheels is absolutely uncomfortable and inefficient,” the founder of KAN Development said.
As he said, currently there are no offers of gated residential communities in the Kyiv’s market, all projects in this segment are being implemented in the suburbs.
In addition, he said that in 2020, KAN Development plans to launch a new business-class complex project in the center of Kyiv.
“We still plan to diversify the risks and carry out several projects of different categories at the same time. This year, I think, we will launch three projects. We have begun a comprehensive business class development project in the center of Kyiv. I think that we will bring it to the market in 2020,” he said.
KAN LLC, part of KAN Development Group (both based in Kyiv), saw a 10.5-fold rise in net profit in Q2 2018, to UAH 24.8 million. According to an annual report of the company posted in the information disclosure system of the National Commission for Securities and the Stock Market, net revenue in H1 2018 grew 1.6-fold, to UAH 79.4 million, and uncovered loss fell by 6%, to UAH 385.9 million.
Noncurrent liabilities fell by 1.6%, to UAH 579.2 million, and current liabilities decreased 32%, to UAH 277.9 million, total bills receivable narrowed by 42.4%, to UAH 39.9 million.
KAN Development LLC was established in 2001. As of July 2018, the participant of the limited liability company was Deverte Holding GmbH (Austria, 100%).
