There is no water in all Kiev – Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko

Water supplies were suspended Wednesday throughout Kiev due to Russian shelling, the capital’s mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said.
“Due to the shelling, water supplies have been suspended throughout Kiev. Specialists “Kievvodokanal” are working to restore it as quickly as possible, “- he wrote in his Telegram channel.
At the same time, the mayor urged residents of Kiev to stock up on water just in case.
“Specialists are doing everything possible to return water to the homes of residents of Kiev. They are also working to resume power supply in the capital,” Klitschko added.

Kiev has started to treat roads with de-icing agents

In Kiev the work on processing of roads by de-icing agents has begun. The work involved 268 units of equipment “Kievavtodor”, reports the Kiev city state administration.
“Snow was removed on most streets of urban and district importance. Cleaning continues on local roads. The road service of the capital has been working without stopping for about a day already”, – is indicated in the message.
At the moment, an active processing of roads, bridges and sidewalks by anti-icing agents is conducted. It is noted that after the snowfall in the capital a sharp cold snap is expected: a few hours later the temperature will fall from +1 ° C to -6 ° C.
New snowfalls forecasters predict for Sunday.
“We ask drivers, if possible, to refrain from driving their own cars and not to park on the roadside, so as not to interfere with the work of snow removal equipment. Be as cautious as possible on the roads, obey all traffic rules,” – stressed in the message.

Heavy snowfall is expected in Kiev on Friday, in connection with which the Kiev city state administration urges residents to leave cars at home to prevent traffic jams.
“Weather forecasters are predicting heavy snowfall tomorrow. The snow will start tomorrow afternoon, intensify in the evening and will last until the middle of the day Saturday. Please do not create traffic jams. After all, snow removal equipment and cars of special services are also standing in them”, – said in the message of the KSCA.
The administration also urges Kyiv residents to take care of parking in advance and not to leave cars on the roadsides of streets and roads, so that road workers can overcome the consequences of precipitation.

Kiev subway has resumed its work – measures Klitschko

The Kiev subway has resumed normal traffic after the missile attack on Kiev and a prolonged air alert, the city’s mayor Vitaly Klitschko said.
“At some underground stations, where a lot of people have gathered, passenger disembarkation is resumed gradually,” Klitschko wrote in his Telegram Channel on Tuesday.
According to him, due to the accumulation of people at subway stations that worked as a shelter, the “red line” subway trains ran from the station “Akademgorodok” to the station “Arsenalnaya”, but the disembarkation of passengers beyond the station “Polytechnic Institute” was not made.
In turn, the “green line” of subway plied from “Syrets” station to “Druzhby Narodiv” station, as well as from “Osokorki” to “Krasniy Khutor. The “blue line” of the subway was running in normal mode.
“Now the subway is gradually resuming traffic in the normal mode,” summed up the mayor.

“Ukrzaliznytsia” opens Kiev-Mykolaiv service, plans to launch flight to Kherson

Ukrzaliznytsia JSC is resuming the Kiev-Mykolaiv passenger service on Tuesday and expects to resume passenger service to Kherson within 10 days after completing a track inspection and repair of damaged infrastructure, Infrastructure Minister Alexander Kubrakov said.
“Now that the Ukrainian military has pushed back the front line, we are launching a direct rail connection Kiev-Mykolaiv. The first train will leave already tonight,” Kubrakov wrote on his Facebook page on Monday.
He added that as of today, road companies have started clearing roads so that humanitarian aid, rescuers, messengers and mail could reach people as soon as possible.
Kubrakov noted that the enemy blew up 14 bridges while fleeing the territory of Kherson.
“The road services are coordinating with the military, and as soon as the security situation allows – we will dismantle the structures of the bridges,” wrote the minister.

School winter vacations in Kiev will start according to schedule – mayor Klitschko

Winter vacations in the capital’s schools will start on schedule, from December 26, 2022, Kiev Mayor Vitaly Klitschko said.
“But will last a month – until January 27, 2023. During this time, schools will be heated in minimum mode to support the heating system. Teachers, if desired, can go on paid leave for the duration of the vacations,” Klitschko wrote in his Telegram channel.
He noted that in case of emergency, part of the schools in the city will be used for the work of heating points.
The school year will last in the capital’s schools until July 1 – according to the law.
