PrJSC Kyivoblenergo has stated DTEK had gained control over the company, having received relevant information from the Agency for the Development of the Ukrainian Stock Market Infrastructure.
In addition, according to reports on the website of the regional energy company, the supervisory board of the company at a meeting on May 24 fired the board headed by Volodymyr Cherniavsky.
New members of the board have not been elected, but it is absent DTEK-controlled power grid companies, while the director general is in charge of operative management.
The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has permitted DTEK Oil & Gas to acquire controlling stakes in Kyivoblenergo and Odesaoblenergo belonged to VS Energy Group, the press service of the committee has reported, referring to the decision made on Thursday.
“Today the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine granted permission to DTEK Oil & Gas to acquire shares of Kyivoblenergo and Odesaoblenergo under the strict condition of fulfilling obligations that neutralize the possible negative impact on electricity markets,” the committee said.
In the beginning of 2019, DTEK announced its intention to build up 68.2949% of the shares in Odesaoblenergo and 93.9978% in Kyivoblenergo owned by the VS Energy Group. Oil and gas companies of DTEK Oil & Gas Group (Ukraine) and NGR B.V. (the Netherlands) on January 3, 2019 entered into contracts for the sale of shares in these companies.
PJSC Kyivoblenergo has announced a tender to build the Boryspil solar power plant with a power capacity of 5 MW at 36A, Zaporizhska Street in Boryspil, Kyiv region.
According to the ProZorro e-procurement system, the expected cost of works is UAH 7.305 million. Bids can be submitted before March 1. The auction is to take place on March 4.
At the end of 2017, the executive committee of the Boryspil City Council provided Promin-Energo LLC with town-planning conditions and construction restrictions on a land plot at 36A, Zaporizhska Street in Borispol for the construction of a 5 MW solar power plant. At the end of 2018, Promin-Energo LLC obtained a license to generate electricity for the first stage of the solar power plant at the specified address with a capacity of 996.36 kW from the National Commission for Energy, Housing and Utilities Services Regulation (NCER).
According to the public register of owners of legal entities, as of February 2019, Promin-Energo LLC with a statutory fund of UAH 60 million belonged to four individuals – Eduard Nikitiuk, Yulia Merezhko, Ihor Protsenko and Asatur Baghdasaryan.
The operating company responsible for the oil and gas sectors in the structure of the DTEK energy holding – DTEK Oil & Gas – has become the holder of 24.99% shares in private joint-stock company Kyivoblenergo earlier belonged to VS Energy International Ukraine LLC.
According to a report of Kyivoblenergo posted in the information disclosure system of the National Commission for Securities and the Stock Market, VS Energy now holds 33.60788% shares in the company.
As reported, early January 2019, DTEK announced its intention to build up 68.2949% of shares in JSC Odesaoblenergo and 93.9978% in JSC Kyivoblenergo owned by VS Energy Group.
DTEK was established in 2005 to manage the energy assets of Rinat Akhmetov’s System Capital Management Group (SCM, Donetsk). The corporation performs functions of strategic management of the group’s enterprises, which constitute a vertically integrated chain of coal production and washing, production and sale of electricity.
VS Energy International Ukrainе owns shares in the following companies: Kyivoblenergo, Rivneoblenergo, Khersonoblenergo, Kirovohradoblenergo, Zhytomyroblenergo, Odesaoblenergo, Chernivtsioblenergo, Sevastopolenergo. Also, the company owns large stakes in Mykolaivoblenergo and Khmelnytskoblenergo.
According to the unified public register of companies, the ultimate beneficiaries of VS Energy International Ukraine are citizen of Germany Marina Yaroslavskaya, as well as citizens of Latvia Vilis Dambins, Arturs Altbergs and Valts Vigants. Ukrainian media and politicians also named several Russian businessmen as beneficiaries of the company.
