Lviv-based Cardboard and Paper Company increases production by 7%

Cardboard and Paper Company LLC (Lviv), a major Ukrainian manufacturer of cardboard tubes and sanitary products, increased its production by 7% in 2023 to UAH 1 billion 268.5 million compared to 2022.

According to UkrPapir Association statistics provided to Interfax-Ukraine, the company slightly reduced its output of cardboard products in physical terms to 26.4 thousand tons, while increasing its production of paper base for sanitary products by 12.6% to almost 8 thousand tons. Production of toilet paper in rolls increased by 49% to 6.1 million units.

At the same time, in December, the company reduced its paper and cardboard production by 35.5% compared to the same month in 2022, to 2 thousand tons, which is also almost 35% less than in November last year.

LLC “Cardboard and Paper Company” produces products and semi-finished products from waste cardboard (cardboard sheets, corners, sleeves), cellulose and recycled waste paper (toilet paper, towels, napkins TM Papero). The company supplies its products, in particular, to the EU countries.

Among its customers are Biosphere and Arterium corporations, Nestle, Khlibprom, and Yarych confectionery.

As reported, in 2022, the factory increased its commercial output by 51.5% compared to 2021, up to UAH 1 billion 186 million, without stopping work during the year. Net profit tripled to UAH 263.7 million.

On December 29, Ukrzaliznytsia will launch additional run of Lviv-Rakhiv train

On December 29, Ukrzaliznytsia JSC (UZ) will launch an additional run of train No. 816 Lviv-Rakhiv, the UZ press service said on Friday evening.

“We are strengthening the peak transportation day on December 29 with the flight of the regional train No. 816 Lviv – Rakhiv! The train will be useful not only for residents of Lviv, but with a transfer at Lviv station – for passengers from Kyiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Zaporizhzhia and other cities,” the message posted on UZ’s Telegram channel reads.

The company specifies that train No. 816 will depart from Lviv on December 29 at 15:22, Ivano-Frankivsk at 17:39 – 17:43, Yaremche at 19:10 – 19:14, Tatariv-Bukovel at 19:39 – 19:41, Vorokhta at 19:52 – 19:56, Yasinia at 20:34 – 20:36, Kvasy at 20:59 – 21:01, arriving in Rakhiv at 21:19. The train will also stop at the stations Khodoriv, Burshtyn, Halych, Delyatyn, Mykulychyn, Voronenko, Lazeshchyna, Svydovets, and Bilyn.

It is also reported that in Lviv, this train can be transferred from trains #79 Dnipro (22:06) – Kyiv (05:42 – 06:10) – Lviv (12:59), #86 Zaporizhzhia (18:48) – Lviv (14:15) and #63 Kharkiv (22:38) – Kyiv (05:35 – 06:35) – Lviv (13:39).

Skoda double-decker electric train to run on Kyiv-Lviv route

Ukrzaliznytsia JSC (UZ) has assigned a double-decker Skoda electric train to the Intercity+ route No. 741/742 Kyiv-Lviv for the New Year’s Eve and holidays, the company’s press service said on Wednesday.
According to the telegram, the train will depart from Kyiv on December 22, 24, 28, 30, and January 1, 2, 5, 7 at 14:58 and arrive in Lviv at 20:56.
The train will run back from Lviv on December 23, 25, 29, 31, and January 2, 3, 6, 8, departing at 8:05 a.m. and arriving in Kyiv at 14:10 a.m.
“A convenient transfer to Lviv from a Warsaw flight via Rava-Ruska has also been agreed in this direction,” UZ emphasized.
The company added that at the time of the Skoda electric train’s arrival in Lviv, a train with seating cars will run to Cherkasy on the route No. 729/730 according to a changed schedule.
In addition, an additional train No. 159/160 Kyiv – Truskavets (via Lviv) has been scheduled. It will depart from Kyiv on December 23 and 29 at 10:24 and arrive in Truskavets at 19:35.
In the opposite direction, the train will depart from Truskavets on December 23 and 29 at 8:26 a.m. and arrive in Kyiv at 18:44.
“Tickets for the upcoming dates are already available in the Ukrzaliznytsia app, chatbot, website, and at the ticket offices of the stations,” UZ said.
The Skoda EJ 675 Elephant electric train consists of six double-decker cars, has 636 seats and can accelerate to 160 km/h.
“Ukrzaliznytsia has purchased two Czech electric trains Skoda EJ 675 Elephant in preparation for Euro 2012.

Bank Lviv intends to increase its authorized capital by 35%

Lviv Bank plans to increase its authorized capital by UAH 250 million, or 35.3%, to UAH 958 million 405,338 thousand through additional contributions from existing shareholders.

According to the bank’s announcement in the disclosure system of the National Securities and Stock Market Commission (NSSMC), the relevant issue was submitted to an extraordinary remote shareholders’ meeting on December 18.

It is assumed that an additional issue of shares with the existing par value of UAH 0.1 each will be made as part of the authorized capital increase.

According to the National Bank of Ukraine, as of the beginning of September 2023, Lviv Bank ranked 28th in terms of assets (UAH 9.12 billion) among 64 banks operating in the country. The bank’s net profit for 8 months of this year amounted to UAH 121.1 million.

According to the website of Lviv Bank, its shareholders at the beginning of this year were: ResponsAbility Participations (Switzerland) – 48.557189%, Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) – 13.93623% and Icelandic citizen Margeir Petursson – 37.4692%.

The EBRD pointed out in August this year that Bank Lviv, which is owned by European shareholders, is a regional bank focused on SMEs and one of the fastest growing in western Ukraine, with a loan portfolio that grew from $35 million in 2017 to $133 million in the first quarter of 2023. The bank is headquartered in Lviv and has a network of 19 branches, 13 of which are in Lviv region and six in other cities.

BES eliminates illegal alcohol business in Lviv and Ternopil regions

Employees of the territorial department of the Bureau of Economic Security (BES) in Lviv region exposed a scheme for the illegal production and sale of alcoholic beverages in Ternopil and Lviv regions, the press service of the BES regional office reports.

“The investigation revealed the location of warehouses with vodka and cognac. The alcoholic beverages were delivered to one of the enterprises in Lviv, which distributed counterfeit alcohol through retail stores,” the statement said.

Counterfeit alcohol was distributed in a network of more than 300 stores.

“During the searches in Ternopil, about 61 thousand liters of liquid with the smell of alcohol and an alcohol production line were seized,” the BES reports.

At the same time, law enforcement officers seized more than 46 thousand liters of counterfeit alcohol, as well as containers and equipment for packaging alcoholic beverages, and financial and business documents at the company’s premises in Lviv region.

“According to the decision of the Lychakiv District Court of Lviv, the seized property worth more than UAH 26 million was seized,” the statement said.

Lviv Cardboard and Paper Company has increased its output by 21%

LLC “Cardboard and Paper Company” (Lviv), a major Ukrainian manufacturer of cardboard sleeves and sanitary products, in January-July 2023 increased its output by 21.2% to UAH 746.83 million compared to the same period of 2022.

According to the statistical data provided to Interfax-Ukraine by UkrPapir Association, in physical terms the company increased the output of cardboard products by 2.6% to 15.7 thousand tons, and of base paper for sanitary-hygienic products by 4.1% to 4.3 thousand tons. The output of toilet paper in rolls increased by 42% to 3.3 million pieces.

At the same time in July the company increased the output of paper and cardboard by 4.3% compared to the same month last year – up to 3.3 thousand tons, which is also 30% more than in June this year.

“Cardboard and Paper Company” produces products and semi-finished products from waste paperboard (cardboard sheets, corners, sleeves), pulp and recycled waste paper (toilet paper, towels, napkins TM Papero). The company supplies its products to EU countries, among others.

Among its customers are Biosphere, Arterium, Nestle, Hlebprom, and Yarich.

As reported, in 2022, the factory, without suspending work during the year, increased the volume of marketable products by 51.5% compared to 2021 – up to 1 billion 186 million UAH. Net profit tripled to UAH 263.7 mln.
