Boryspil International Airport (Kyiv) in 2019 increased passenger traffic by 21.1% compared to 2018, to 15.260 million people.The press service of the enterprise told Interfax-Ukraine that the figure on international flights over the indicated period amounted to 14.163 million people (an increase of 22.2%), on domestic some 1.096 million (an increase of 8.3%).The number of flights in 2019 amounted to 110,660 for arrival/departure, which is 14.2% more than in 2018, in particular 97,428 international flights (16.1% more), and 13,232 domestic flights (1.4% more).In December 2019, passenger flow at Boryspil airport amounted to 1.053 million people, which is 12.6% more than in December 2018. At the same time, passenger traffic on international flights amounted to 973,100 people (13.8% more), and on domestic flights some 80,600 (0.2% more).The number of flights in December 2019 amounted to 7,800 for arrival/departure, which is 1.2% more than in the same period in 2018, including 6,865 (3.5% more) international flights, and 935 domestic flights (12.8% less).
Passenger traffic at Lviv International Airport in 2019 amounted to 2.217 million people, which is 38.8% more than in 2018, the company’s press service said on Facebook.
The number of flights in 2019 reached 18,963 (16,180 international and 2,783 domestic), which is 22.9% more than in 2018.
In December 2019, some 171,600 passengers used the airport services (151,400 on international flights, 20,200 on domestic flights), which is 32.4% more than in December 2018. At the same time, the number of flights last month increased by 10.9%, to 1,423 (1,178 international and 245 domestic).
As reported, Lviv Airport in 2018 increased passenger traffic by 48% compared to 2017, to 1.598 million people.
Lviv International Airport is located 6 km south of the city center.
Passenger flows at the Ukrainian airports in January-October 2019 grew by 18.8% year-over-year, to 20.745 million people. According to recent update on the website of the State Aviation Service, in particular, passenger flows on international routes grew by 20.1%, to 18.766 million.
Volumes of passenger traffic of Ukrainian airlines increased 10.3%, to 11.923 million people. (on international routes by 10.5%, to 10.943 million people).
During January-October 2019, Ukrainian airlines operated 88,400 commercial flights (an increase of 3.4%), including 74,600 international (growth by 3.5%).
As reported, Ukrainian airlines transported about 12.5 million passengers in 2018, which is 18% more than in 2017. Passenger traffic through the country’s airports increased 25% in 2018, to 20.55 million people.
Legal entities in Ukraine in January-September 2019 purchased and registered 20,300 passenger cars, which is 12% more than for the same period in 2018, including 19,000 new cars and 1,300 imported used cars, Ukrautoprom has said.
According to the association, the share of new cars in total corporate acquisitions this year was 97% compared to 93% a year earlier.
As for new cars, the highest demand among legal entities was recorded for Renault brand cars with 4,457 cars, Toyota ranked second with 2,968 cars, and Skoda ranked third with 2,533 cars.
When choosing imported used cars, legal entities more often chose Volkswagen cars, having acquired 173 passenger cars of this brand since the beginning of the year. This is followed by Nissan (129 units) and Mercedes-Benz (113 units).
Ukrautoprom noted that since the beginning of the year, 383,300 cars have been registered in Ukraine, of which 61,700 are new cars and 321,600 were used cars imported from abroad.
The Irish low cost airline Ryanair (Dublin) intends to carry more than 2.1 million passengers on Ukrainian flights in 2020, which is 33% more than in 2019.
This was announced by Ryanair Chief Commercial Officer David O’Brien at a briefing with Infrastructure Minister Vladyslav Krykliy in Kyiv.
According to him, in 2020 Ryanair plans to open 18 routes in Ukraine, two of which are new from Lviv to Budapest and from Kharkiv to Warsaw (twice a week). In 2020, the company will operate 43 routes from Ukraine.
Ryanair entered the Ukrainian market in 2018. The first months the low cost carrier operated flights from Boryspil and Lviv airports. In June 2019, the airline began flights from Kharkiv and Odesa.
Ryanair daily operates over 2,400 flights to/from 200 airports located in 37 countries. Last fiscal year, the company transported 130.3 million people. Its fleet has 460 Boeing-737 aircraft.

Passenger traffic on international flights for the indicated period amounted to 10.8 million people (an increase of 23.7%), in the domestic sector some 831,200 people (an increase of 8.8%).
The number of flights for January-September 2019 amounted to 84,400 for arrival/departures, which is 16.1% more than in the same period in 2018, in particular 74,340 international flights (more by 18.2%), and 10,080 domestic flights (2.8% more).
In September 2019, passenger flow in Boryspil amounted to 1.649 million people, which is 27.6% more than in September 2018. At the same time, passenger traffic on international flights amounted to 1.552 million people (29.3% more), on domestic flights some 97,200 (6.1% more).
The number of flights in September 2019 amounted to 11,443 for arrival/departure, which is 24.7% more than in the same period in 2018, including 10,290 international flights (28% more), and 1,150 domestic trips (up by 1.6%).
