CATTLE AND PIG NUMBERS DECREASE IN UKRAINE, POULTRY UP

Cattle numbers in Ukraine as of October 1, 2018 amounted to almost 3.862 million animals, which is 4.1% less than on the same date in 2017, the State Statistics Service has reported. At the same time, the number of cows by the specified date decreased by 3.5%, to 2.018 million animals.
According to the state service, on October 1, the number of pigs decreased by 4% compared to the same date last year, to 6.463 million animals, sheep and goats by 3.2%, to 1.516 million.
The number of poultry in the country increased by 2.2% compared with October 1, 2017, amounting to 238.816 million birds.

UKRAINE COULD INCREASE EXPORTS OF POULTRY TO 290,000 TONNES

Ukraine in 2018 could increase exports of poultry by 7.4%, to 290,000 tonnes, the Union of Poultry Farmers of Ukraine has said. “A record-breaking amount of poultry meat was exported in 2017 – 270,000 tonnes. This indicator will reach 290,000 tonnes in 2018. Along with the increase in exports, there is a tendency to increase the import of poultry meat to Ukraine. In the past year, 116,000 tonnes was imported, and in the current year it is expected to reach 130,000 tonnes,” Director General of the association Serhiy Karpenko said in the report of the association.
According to him, in the course of 2017, 66,700 tonnes of poultry and meat products were exported to the EU and Ukraine was the third among all countries exporting to the EU countries. “The growth in industrial production of broiler meat by 3.3% or by 30,000 tonnes was seen in 2017. For the seven months ending July 2018, production in agricultural enterprises increased by 5.6%,” Karpenko said.
Consumption of eggs in 2017 was 247 units per person. In 2018, the association predicts an increase in the consumption of eggs to 254 pieces per person.

CATTLE NUMBERS AND PIGS IN UKRAINE DOWN, POULTRY UP

Cattle numbers in Ukraine as of June 1, 2018 amounted to almost 3.97 million animals, which is 4.6% less compared to early June 2017, the State Statistics Service has reported. According to the report, the number of cows shrank by 3.7% over the period, to 2.04 million. The number of pigs decreased by 5.7% in May 2018, to 6.37 million, sheep and goats – by 4.1%, to 1.64 million animals.
The number of poultry grew by 1.7% compared with early June 2017, to 223.81 million birds.
As reported, with reference to statistical data, cattle numbers in Ukraine (excluding the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea and Sevastopol and the ATO zone) in 2017 amounted to 3.682 million animals, which is 1.5% less compared to 2016. Pig numbers fell by 8.2%, to 6.12 million, sheep and goats grew by 0.1%, to 1.316 million and poultry – by 1.7%, to 205.103 million.
The number of pigs fell by 5.8%, to 6.669 million, poultry by 1.1%, to 201.7 million birds, and sheep and goats by 0.8%, to 1.315 million.

PIGS AND CATTLE NUMBERS DECREASE IN UKRAINE, POULTRY NUMBER GROWS

Cattle numbers in Ukraine as of May 1, 2018 amounted to almost 3.94 million animals, which is 4.4% less compared to early May 2017, the State Statistics Service has reported. According to the report, the number of cows shrank by 3.8% over the period, to 2.03 million.
The number of pigs decreased by 6.3% in April 2018, to 6.18 million, sheep and goats – by 3.9%, to 1.62 million animals.
The number of poultry grew by 1.2% compared with early May 2017, to 201.08 million birds.
As reported, with reference to statistical data, cattle numbers in Ukraine (excluding the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea and Sevastopol and the ATO zone) in 2017 amounted to 3.682 million animals, which is 1.5% less compared to 2016. Pig numbers fell by 8.2%, to 6.12 million, sheep and goats grew by 0.1%, to 1.316 million and poultry – by 1.7%, to 205.103 million.
The number of pigs fell by 5.8%, to 6.669 million, poultry by 1.1%, to 201.7 million birds, and sheep and goats by 0.8%, to 1.315 million.

UKRAINE SEES EXPORT OF POULTRY RISE, PORK FALL IN JAN-APR

Ukraine in January-April 2018 exported 98,360 tonnes of poultry, which is 2.6% more than in the same period in 2017, the State Fiscal Service has reported. According to its data, in monetary terms exports of these products increased by 21%, to $150.09 million.
Imports of poultry for the four months of 2018 increased by 27.7%, to 40,000 tonnes, in monetary terms by 35.8%, to $16.73 million.
According to the service, exports of pork in January-April 2018 decreased by 66.7% compared to the corresponding period in 2017, to 810 tonnes. Exports amounted to $1.88 million against $4.7 million in the four months of 2017.
Pork imports to Ukraine during this period increased by 4.6 times, to 3,310 tonnes. The country imported pork for $5.91 million against $1.24 million in January-April 2017.
As reported, with reference to customs data of the fiscal service, Ukraine in 2017 increased the supply of pork to foreign markets by 1.6 times, to 4,920 tonnes, imports of this product doubled, to 5,600 tonnes.

The number of cattle in Ukraine as of April 1, 2018 amounted to almost 3.86 million animals, which is 4.5% less than on the same date in 2017. According to the State Statistics Service, the number of cows for this period decreased by 4.3% and amounted to 2.024 million animals. The number of pigs decreased by 8.1%, to 6.135 million, sheep and goats fell by 4.1%, to 1.516 million.
Poultry stock in the country increased by 1.2% compared to April 1, 2017, amounting to 197.557 million birds.
As reported, the number of cattle in Ukraine (excluding the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the Anti-Terrorist Operations zone) as of January 1, 2018 amounted to 3.628 million animals, which is 1.5% less than on the same date in 2017. The number of pigs decreased by 8.2%, to 6.12 million head, sheep and goats grew by 0.1%, to 1.316 million. Poultry stock in the country increased by 1.7% as compared to January 1, 2017, amounting to about 205 million birds.
