The Kyiv City State Administration has begun developing a project for the comprehensive reconstruction of outdated housing in the capital in cooperation with the Urban Studies Institute, the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration said.
“The first two stages of the project are ready. We have identified the main steps necessary to start implementing the program for the reconstruction of outdated housing,” deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration Viacheslav Nepop is quoted in the message.
According to him, research and analytical work has been carried out: analysis of the regulatory framework, international experience, selection of optimal financing mechanisms, rights and obligations of residents of housing, issues of registration of property rights. Further, an inventory of dilapidated housing in the capital is planned.
After the approval of characteristics and boundaries of the quarters for renovation, the sequence and methods of reconstruction, the draft program will be submitted for consideration by the Kyiv City Council, the press service says.
There are currently 3,900 km of roads at the final stage of reconstruction in Ukraine (the last sphere of asphalt concrete is being commissioned, completed or is being completed), Head of the State Automobile Roads Agency of Ukraine (Ukravtodor) Oleksandr Kubrakov said in during the presentation of the results of his team’s work during the year on Tuesday.
Among the leaders in road commissioning, he indicated Kharkiv (261.6 km), Zakarpattia (248.3 km), Zaporizhia (220.2 km), Sumy (197.2 km), Khmelnytska (194.3 km), Cherkasy ( 162.9 km) and Lviv (154.9 km) regions.
In addition, Kubrakov said that out of 100 artificial structures that Ukravtodor planned to renovate in 2020, 78 have already been reconstructed. In particular, this is the reconstruction of two bridges on the road R-62 Kryvorivnia – Ust-Putyla – Stary Kuty – Vyzhnytsia – Storozhynets – Chernivtsi; overhaul of the overpass on the road M-12 Stryi – Ternopil – Kropyvnytsky – Znamianka; reconstruction of the bridge on the road N-08 Boryspil – Dnipro – Mariupol.
“Yesterday, a bridge was put into operation in the village of Bushtyno [Zakarpattia region]. It began to be built in 2006, construction was stopped in 2009. The temporary bridge was already falling apart there. It was a question that the road of national importance would simply remain without connection,” he said.
In addition, the construction of a bridge across the Prut River in the village of Marshyntsi on the T-26-06 road (concreting of the roadway, active work at the facility began a couple of months ago), a bridge across the Lukva River in the village of Bodnariv on H-10 road, crossing between the villages of Stary Martyniv and Sivka-Voinylivska on T-09-10 road are nearing completion.
In 2020, Ukravtodor plans to repair 4,200 km of national roads.
National Energy Company Ukrenergo began reconstruction of six substations in the western region of the country׃ Ivano-Frankivsk, Bohorodchany, Rivne and Kovel with a voltage of 330 kV, as well as Kalush and Boryslav with a voltage of 220 kV for the funds of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) with a total of EUR 60 million.
According to the press service of Ukrenergo, the implementation of this project will enable to increase the reliability of the region’s transmission system, reduce technological losses of electricity and operating costs, transfer substations to automated work with the possibility of remote control from the main dispatch center.
“The reconstruction of these substations is financed by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development within the framework of the Second Power Transmission Project. It should be noted that this is an additional component of the project, the implementation of which became possible due to significant savings achieved during the international public bidding for the basic volume of the project,” Investment Director of Ukrenergo Oleh Pavlenko said.
Reconstruction of six substations provides, in particular, the complete replacement of 330-110 kV switchgears at all substations, the installation of an automated process control system (APCS) for remote monitoring and control of substation equipment, the construction of new premises for relay protection of equipment and general control points of a substation.
As part of the work, contracts were signed with three foreign companies: Chinese-based Xian Electric Engineering Co. Ltd, the Turkish consortium Balikesir Elektromekanik Sanayi Tesisleri A.S. and BEST Elektrik Taahhut Ve Ticaret A.S., as well as with the Kazakh ASPMK-519.
The work is being carried out within the framework of a comprehensive substation automation program, which provides for the reconstruction of all Ukrenergo substations with the introduction of automated process control systems.
The program is aimed at improving the reliability of the power transmission system, creating a technical base for introducing smart grid technology in backbone networks, ensuring the level of reliability and security of the network in accordance with the ENTSO-E requirements.
At the first stage, 57 substations will be reconstructed by 2025, which are formed into nine investment packages. Four more investment packages provide for the reconstruction of 38 substations.
DCH Group, a Ukrainian industrial and financial group of Oleksandr Yaroslavsky, is ready to invest in the reconstruction of Dnipro International Airport.
According to the press service of Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, the project for the reconstruction of the airport was discussed by head of the regional administration Oleksandr Bondarenko and President of DCH Group Oleksandr Yaroslavsky during a meeting in Dnipro.
“A modern international airport is one of the main priorities of Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration. The reconstruction of the airport, which has long been morally and physically outdated, will give an impetus to the development of the entire region. These are new opportunities for business, medicine, tourism and the region’s economy as a whole,” Bondarenko said.
According to Yaroslavsky, DCH Group is ready to invest in Dnipro airport under public-private partnership.
He noted that the company already has experience in implementing a similar project in Kharkiv. There, the construction of the runway cost $200 million, the terminal some $107 million.
According to the president of the group, thanks to optimization and modern technologies, in Dnipro such work will be at least $100 million cheaper.
“I’ve repeatedly confirmed that I am ready to use our experience in the construction and development of Kharkiv International Airport in favor of the Dnipro community, the surrounding regions, the whole Ukraine. As soon as full funding for the construction of a runway is actually allocated and fixed in the 2020 national budget, DCH as a private investor will be able to begin work on the construction of the airport complex,” Yaroslavsky said.
Kyiv International Airport (Zhuliany) has doubled its capacity due to the expansion of main Terminal A by another 9,500 square meters, to 23,700 square meters, co-owner of the airport Denys Kostrzhevsky has said, when opening the terminal.
According to him, the reconstruction of the terminal cost UAH 630 million.
He noted that the airport also doubled the number of check-in counters and passport control desks.
According to an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent, 23 registration desks and nine aviation security oversight stations are located on the ground floor of the new facility of the terminal. A new parking lot for 135 cars was built on the square near the airport.
Terminal A will include a Duty Free shop, a WOG cafe, three restaurants and several souvenir shops.
According to the expert, the airport plans to further expand the terminal.
“The project includes the third stage of construction on the other side of the terminal, which will allow doubling the area of Terminal A,” he said without specifying the start of construction.
In addition, according to him, it is planned in two or three years to begin work on the extension of the runway.
“Now we are engaged in the allocation of land plots and design. In two or three years we will decide on the extension of the runway,” the businessman said.
At the same time, he found it difficult to predict the terms during which the investments made in the second stage of construction would be paid back.
The operator of the gas transportation system JSC Ukrtransgaz has commissioned Kalush-2 gas distribution station (Ivano-Frankivsk region) after reconstruction, the press service of the company has reported.
The total investment in the reconstruction amounted to UAH 82 million. The station is equipped with automatic management systems with functional alarm systems and systems of automatic protection against pressure increase/decrease.
In addition, an ultrasonic gas flow measurement system is installed at the station.
“With the rapid development of industry in Kalush, the modernization and restoration of activities of chemical enterprises and, accordingly, increasing consumption volumes, the station will ensure a reliable and uninterrupted supply of gas to consumers,” the report said.
Kalush-2 gas distribution station, built in 1975, supplies gas to the city, nearby villages and industrial consumers from the Uhersko-Ivano-Frankivsk-Chernivtsi gas pipeline.
