MYKOLAIV SEAPORT RAISES FREIGHT TRANSSHIPMENT BY 26%

Mykolaiv seaport in January-March 2019 increased cargo handling by 26.2% compared with January-March 2018, to 8.117 million tonnes.
According to the data of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, during this period the port increased the transshipment of exported cargo by 30.72%, to 6.247 million tonnes, imported cargo by 26.67%, to 1.606 million tonnes, and coastal freight handling by 12.75%, to 263,470 tonnes. The port did not transship transit cargo.
In January-March 2019, the port increased the transshipment of liquid cargo by 0.1%, to 764,830 tonnes, increased dry bulk freight by 28.1%, to 6.3 million tonnes, packaged ones by 40.32%, to 1.052 million tonnes.
As reported, Mykolaiv seaport in 2018 increased cargo handling by 24.09% compared with 2017, to 29.2 million tonnes.
Mykolaiv seaport has an area of 97.3 ha and a water area of 224.5 ha. It is connected to the Black Sea by the Buho-Dniprovsko-Lymansky canal. The port has 15 berths with a total length of 2.962 km.

CHORNOMORSK SEAPORT INCREASES FREIGHT HANDLING BY 23% IN Q1

Chornomorsk seaport (Odesa region) in January-March 2019 increased cargo handling by 23.42% compared to the same period of 2018, to 6.366 million tonnes.
According to the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, during this period the port increased the handling of exported cargo by 37.25%, to 5.227 million tonnes, reduced the handling of imported cargo by 20.37%, to 851,150 tonnes and transit freight by 1.43%, to 277,000 tonnes, and also transshipped 11,240 tonnes of cabotage cargo.
In January-March 2019, liquid cargo handling at the port decreased by 4.17%, to 379,250 tonnes, dry bulk cargo handling increased by 31.34%, to 4.479 million tonnes, that of packaged goods by 11.51%, to 1.508 million tonnes.
Container handling in the first three months of this year amounted to 30,817 TEU (a decrease of 2.7%).

ODESA SEAPORT SEES 5% RISE IN FREIGHT HANDLING IN Q1 2019

Odesa seaport in January-March 2019 transshipped 6.22 million tonnes of freight, which is 5.05% more than a year ago.
According to the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, during this period the port increased the handling of exported cargo by 11.33%, to 4.831 million tonnes, decreased the handling of imported cargo by 14.4%, to 1.038 million tonnes, transit cargo handling fell by 3.95%, to 344,360 tonnes, and the port increased handling of coastal freight by 37.84%, to 6,570 tonnes.
According to the types of cargo, the port in January-March 2019 decreased the transshipment of liquid cargo by 13.31%, to 390,750 tonnes, increased the transshipment of dry bulk cargo by 9.49%, to 2.68 million tonnes, and increased the transshipment of packaged goods by 4.19%, to 3.149 million tonnes.
Container handling amounted to 140,650 TEU (a fall of 4.1% year-over-year).
Odesa port is located on an area of 109.5 hectares.
The port accepts vessels with lengths of up to 270 meters and maximum draughts of 13 meters. The total length of the port’s berths exceeds 8 kilometers.

SUBSIDIARY OF DP WORLD GROUP TO START BUSINESS AT ODESA SEAPORT

P & O Maritime Ukraine, a subsidiary of DP World Group, a provider of tugboat services, has announced the start of operations at the Odesa seaport, the company has said on its Facebook page.
The letter on the start of the operations was sent to acting Head of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority Raivis Veckagans and thee Odesa branch of the authority.
“Odesa is the third Ukrainian port after Yuzhny and Chornomorsk, in which a representative of the world’s largest operator will work. For work in Odesa, contracts with leading global shipping companies have been concluded,” the company said.
“I am sure that the port, ship owners, terminals and the towing market as a whole will benefit from our cooperation,” P & O Maritime Ukraine CEO Mykhailo Sokolov said.
As reported, in January 2018, P & O Maritime, a fully owned subsidiary of DP World Group, received control over LB Shipping company and started providing tugboat services at the Yuzhny port. The co-investor of the deal was SD Capital investment company belonged to Andriy Stavnitser and Filip Hrushko.
In July 2018, P & O Maritime Ukraine began to provide services at the port of Chornomorsk.

CHORNOMORSK SEAPORT INCREASES TRANSSHIPMENT OF GOODS BY 27%

Chornomorsk seaport (Odesa region) in January and February 2019 increased cargo handling by 27.32% compared with January and February 2018, to 3.993 million tonnes.
According to the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, in January and February 2019, Chornomorsk port increased the handling of exported cargo by 42.3%, to 3.311 million tonnes, imported cargo handling fell by 21.2%, to 521,540 tonnes, transit goods handling grew by 5.89%, to 155,900 tonnes, while the port handled 3,710 tonnes of coastal freight (no handling in January and February 2018).
Liquid cargo handling increased by 16.7%, to 269,050 tonnes, dry bulk cargo by 29.42%, to 2.67 million tonnes, packaged goods by 25.07%, to 1.053 million tonnes. Container handling amounted to 20,134 TEU (a decline of 2.97%).
As reported, the volume of transshipment in the port in 2018 rose by 25.02% compared with 2017, to 21.54 million tonnes.
Chornomorsk port is a universal international port, one of the largest on the Black Sea. The enterprise has specialized terminals and complexes, which allow overloading a wide range of goods: liquid, bulk, general. Its 29 berths are capable of receiving ships with a carrying capacity of up to 100,000 tonnes. The annual designed capacity of the port is more than 30 million tonnes.
