Romania has temporarily suspended the passage of trucks across the state border, and the traffic police have banned the passage of all vehicles traveling from three road checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Romanian border due to difficult weather conditions, the Western Regional Department of the State Border Service reported on Facebook.
“The road police of Romania prohibited the passage of all vehicles from the checkpoints “Dyakovtsy-Rakovetsy”, “Porubnoe-Siret” and “Krasnoilsk-Veche de Sus” in the direction of Siret and Suceava due to snow drifts and unsatisfactory condition of roads in these sections,” – explained in the message.
The State Border Service asks citizens to take this information into account when planning trips to Romania.
At the same time, the state border with Poland, Slovakia and Hungary, the checkpoints operate stably, the travel is not hampered.
The Agency for Reconstruction clarified that in the Chernivtsi region, where the precipitation continues for the third day, snow removal technicians are working.
“Thanks to the coordinated work of the contracting organizations of the Agency for reconstruction, the passage on state roads of Bukovina is provided, restrictions are not introduced,” – said in Telegram agency.
Earlier it was reported that due to icing of the contact network on the Lviv railroad with a delay of 30 minutes or more were eight trains. By mid-day, only train № 113/114 Lviv-Kharkiv was delayed by 30 minutes. The rest of the trains were back on schedule.
Because of the snowfall that began on Thursday, the movement of transport to the state border checkpoints in several regions has slowed down, the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported.
“The longest queues were formed on the border with Poland at the entrance to the checkpoints “Shehyni”, “Krakivets”, “Rava-Russkaya” in Lviv region, as well as before the checkpoints “Yagodin” and “Ustilug” in Volyn,” – said in the message.
It specifies that at the same time checkpoints in Transcarpathian and Chernivtsi regions are not overloaded.
“Take this information into account when crossing (the border – IF-U). In the meantime, border guards together with employees of the National Police, if necessary, carry out reverse traffic to pass cars and try to clear passengers and vehicles as quickly as possible”, – summarized in the State Border Guard Service.
Moderate to light snow is expected in western regions of Ukraine on Saturday, November 19, according to the Ukrhydrometeocenter.
Temperatures in the west of the country will be 2-7° frost at night, 0-5° frost during the day, in Transcarpathia from 1° frost to 4° heat.
In northern, central and eastern regions, moderate to heavy snow at night, turning to rain during the day in central and eastern regions, with some sleet and glazed frost.
The temperature at night is 1-6° below freezing, during the day – from 2° below freezing to 3° above freezing (in the east of the country – 5-10° above freezing); in Kirovograd and Dnipropetrovsk regions at night is about 0°, during the day – 7-12° above freezing.
Moderate to heavy rains at night in the southern part of the country. The temperature at night will be 2-7° warm, during the daytime 9-14°, in the Crimea up to 16°.
Throughout Ukraine, except in the south, there is ice on roads. Winds mostly northwest, 7-12 m / s, in the east and southeast regions during the day gusts of 15-20 m / s.

On Sunday, November 20, snow in Ukraine at times, rain in the south of the country, no precipitation on the left bank. It is icy everywhere except the southern regions. The wind is mostly east, 7-12 m/s.
The temperature at night is 3-8°C cold, in the eastern and southern regions about 0°C; during the day – from 3°C frost to 2°C warm, in Transcarpathia and the east of the country – 1-6°C, in the southern regions – 8-13°C, in the Crimea – 14-19°C.
November 20, no precipitation at night and snow during the day in Kiev. There is freezing snow on roads. Wind eastward, 7-12 m/s. The temperature at night is 5-7° frost, and during the day – 0-2° frost.
Heavy snowfall is expected in Kiev on Friday, in connection with which the Kiev city state administration urges residents to leave cars at home to prevent traffic jams.
“Weather forecasters are predicting heavy snowfall tomorrow. The snow will start tomorrow afternoon, intensify in the evening and will last until the middle of the day Saturday. Please do not create traffic jams. After all, snow removal equipment and cars of special services are also standing in them”, – said in the message of the KSCA.
The administration also urges Kyiv residents to take care of parking in advance and not to leave cars on the roadsides of streets and roads, so that road workers can overcome the consequences of precipitation.
“Pedestrians are reminded of reflective elements on clothing. Take care of yourself and be careful on the road,” summed up in the KSCA.
