Sugar production in Ukraine as of November 14, 2019 amounted to 1.1 million tonnes.
According to the Ukrtsukor National Association of Sugar Producers, as of this date 31 sugar factories were operating in the country. To date, they have processed 7.3 million tonnes of sugar beets.
According to the information and analytical portal of the agro-industrial complex, as of November 12 farmers had harvested 9 million tonnes of sugar beets from 205,000 ha (93% of the forecast for the area).
As reported, the sugar production season in Ukraine started on September 1. According to the estimates of Ukrtsukor, sugar production in the 2019/2020 season may reach 1.1-1.2 million tonnes.
Sugar production in the 2018/2019 season decreased by 15% compared with the previous MY, to 1.82 million tonnes.
Sugar production in Ukraine as of November 4, 2019 amounted to 909,580 tonnes.

According to the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food, farmers as of October 23 had harvested 6 million tonnes of sugar beets from an area of 137,000 ha, or 62% of the forecast with an average yield of 43.7 tonnes/ha.

According to the association, during the reporting period there were changes in the geography of export deliveries.
“Although Uzbekistan remains the leader in imports, shipments to this country have significantly decreased from 210,000 to 96,000 tonnes. Azerbaijan ranked second with 74,000 tonnes, which ranked third last season (43,000 tonnes). Tajikistan ranks third with 36,000 tonnes (16,000 tonnes, the ninth place),” Ruslana Yanenko, the deputy chairman of the board of Ukrtsukor, said.
She noted that the share of deliveries to Uzbekistan in total exports decreased from 37% in the 2017/2018 MY to 24% in the 2018/2019 MY. The reasons for the reduction in shipments, in her opinion, are, first of all, changes in the tax policy of Uzbekistan, as well as a large number of logistic problems in the season related to the supply of Ukrainian sugar to Uzbekistan. In the 2018/2019 MY season, shipments to Israel and Libya increased, which ranked seventh and eighth in the overall ranking of Ukrainian sugar importers.
According to the association, sugar exports in the 2019/2020 MY will amount to approximately 300,000 tonnes.
Sugar production in Ukraine as of October 1, 2019 amounted to 217,200 tonnes. According to the Ukrtsukor National Association of Sugar Producers, as of this date 25 sugar factories were operating in the country, which have processed 1.6 million tonnes of sugar beets.
The Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine said that 12 million tonnes of sugar beets from 45,000 ha or 20% of the plan was harvested as of September 26 with the average yield of 44.5 tonnes per ha.
