PRESIDENT OF UEFA ALEKSANDER CEFERIN ARRIVES TO KYIV ON TWO-DAY VISIT

President of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Aleksander Ceferin has come to Kyiv on a two-day visit, the Ukrainian Association of Football (UAF) reports. “Today, on September 4, UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin has arrived in Kyiv on a two-day visit. The president of the UAF, member of the UEFA Executive Committee Andriy Pavelko met the distinguished guest, whom he personally invited to visit Ukraine,” the UAF press service reported.
It is noted that the visit of the UEFA President is very eventful and important for Ukrainian football.
Ceferin visits Ukraine for the third time in the status of UEFA President. The last time he stayed in Kyiv was during the UEFA Men’s and Women’s Champions League finals in May 2018.

GERMAN CHANCELLOR ANGELA MERKEL INVITES NEW UKRAINE’S PM TO VISIT BERLIN

German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel has congratulated Oleksiy Honcharuk on his appointment as Prime Minister of Ukraine, expressed interest in developing Ukrainian-German relations and invited the head of the Ukrainian government to visit Berlin in the nearest time.
“I would be very glad to welcome you soon in Berlin,” the text of Merkel’s letter to Honcharuk, published on the German government’s website on Tuesday, says.
According to her, the German Federal Government will remain a reliable partner for Ukraine and the Ukrainian government in carrying out key reforms in the field of justice, decentralization and the fight against corruption.
“Germany wants to work together in close dialogue with Ukraine on many of the challenges Ukraine faces. The goal remains in that Ukraine can shape its own future with sovereignty and full territorial integrity. Germany is also interested in further deepening bilateral economic relations. We look forward to working with you in this area,” the letter says.

JOHN BOLTON TO VISIT UKRAINE

Assistant to the U.S. President for National Security Affairs John Bolton has announced his visit to Kyiv without indicating specific dates.
“The president had productive meetings in Biarritz at the G7. I’m looking forward to my upcoming meetings with our partners in Kyiv. We support President Zelensky’s reform efforts and vision to create a stronger and more prosperous Ukraine,” he said on Twitter.

ISRAELI PRIME MINISTER TO VISIT KYIV ON AUGUST 18-20

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will visit Kyiv on August 18-20 to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, The Times of Israel said. According to the publication, Netanyahu is set to fly to Ukraine for a two-day visit less than a month before the elections to the 22nd Knesset. In Kyiv, Netanyahu will meet with Zelensky and visit the Babi Yar (Babyn Yar) Holocaust Memorial Center.
As reported, Netanyahu in April congratulated Zelensky over the phone on his victory in the presidential elections in Ukraine.
On January 21, Ukraine and Israel signed an agreement on a free trade area (FTA), according to which Israel abolishes about 80% of import duties for Ukrainian industrial goods and more than 9% for agricultural goods. At the same time, Ukraine abolishes about 70% of import duties for Israeli industrial products and more than 6% for agricultural goods.
At that time, Netanyahu welcomed the “strong” Israeli-Ukrainian relations. “These ties have deep historical and cultural roots,” he said.
On July 11, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine ratified an international free trade agreement between Ukraine and Israel.
On August 7, Zelensky signed bill No. 0223 on ratification of the FTA agreement into law.

U.S. AND UKRAINE CONTINUE TO PREPARE VISIT OF UKRAINIAN PRESIDENT TO UNITED STATES

The United States and Ukraine continue to prepare for the visit of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to the United States, Kurt Volker, the Special Representative of the U.S. State Department for Ukraine Negotiations, said. “We are working on President Zelensky visit to the White House,” Volker said at a briefing in Kyiv on Saturday.
As reported, on July 25, U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a telephone conversation agreed to substantively discuss practical issues of Ukrainian-American cooperation during the visit of the Ukrainian head of state to the United States.
