US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin plans to visit Ukraine next week, Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby said at a briefing on Tuesday.
“Secretary [Austin] and his team will be preparing for a trip to Europe next week. Stops will include Georgia, Ukraine and Romania and it will conclude this important visit with allies and partners in Brussels for the NATO defense ministerial,” he said.
The meeting of the heads of defense departments of NATO countries in Brussels is scheduled for October 21-22.
More than 3 million tourists visited Odesa in 2021, Mayor of the city Hennadiy Trukhanov has said.
“Today, we are entering the pre-COVID period and have the following data: more than 3 million tourists visited Odesa this year,” he said at a meeting of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine on Thursday in Kyiv.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the murders in Babyn Yar, Israeli President Isaac Herzog will make his first official visit to Ukraine, according to the Israeli Embassy in Ukraine.”During his official visit to Ukraine, President Herzog will speak at events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Babyn Yar massacre, meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, address the Verkhovna Rada and meet with representatives of the Ukrainian Jewish community. On the morning of Tuesday, October 5, President Herzog will fly to Ukraine, where he will start his visit by laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Kyiv, and then go to an official reception at the Mariinsky Palace, which will start with a guard of honor.
Later, President Herzog will meet with President Zelensky. The meeting will be followed by a joint press statement. In the evening, President Zelensky will receive President Herzog at an official dinner.

United States President Joe Biden will visit Ukraine, but not this year, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said.
“I have no doubt that President Biden will fly to the middle of the Dnipro River, and cross the Dnipro River, and land in Boryspil, and arrive in Kyiv. But this visit will not take place this year, since diplomatic practice does not provide for an exchange of visits of this level in one year,” Kuleba said in the Details of the Week (Podrobytsi Tyzhnia) program on the Inter television channel on Sunday evening.
The minister noted that for now, the parties would focus on the implementation of the agreements that were reached during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to the U.S.
Ukrainian diplomats are working on preparations for U.S. President Biden’s visit to Ukraine, Kuleba earlier said.
Biden last visited Ukraine in January 2017 as U.S. vice president. During his visit, he took part in bilateral meetings with the fifth Ukrainian president, Petro Poroshenko, and Volodymyr Groysman, who has been head of the government at the time.

On August 27, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will pay a visit to Chisinau on the occasion of the Independence Day of Moldova, the press service of the President of the Republic of Moldova said.
According to the information on the department’s website, President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda will leave for the Republic of Moldova on Thursday, August 26.
On August 27, Romanian President Klaus Werner Iohannis and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will be in Chisinau.
