Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air has announced the resumption of flights on the Kiev – Budapest route from September 13, 2021.
“We are pleased to announce the resumption of flights on the Kiev – Budapest route. Thanks to it, the airline connects the capitals of Ukraine and Hungary and offers passengers affordable travel opportunities,” Internal Communications Manager at Wizz Air Paulina Gosk said.
Flights on this route will operate twice a week until the end of October and five times a week in November. Flights will take off from the Kyiv international airport (Zhuliany).
To ensure the safety and comfort of passengers and the crew during their flight, Wizz Air is implementing enhanced hygiene measures to maintain physical distancing and improve on-board cleanliness. In addition, passengers are encouraged to pay for all necessary services online before boarding (for example, to pay for additional luggage via the Internet).
Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has opened sales for the Abu Dhabi-Odesa flight, which will be launched in September, Director of Odesa International Airport Volodymyr Semenchenko has reported.
“There were companies that paused the approach to Odesa. The opening of a new runway will activate the process. Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has already opened sales to Odesa since September,” Semenchenko said during the ceremony of opening the new runway.
According to him, the flights will be operated by Airbus 321neo aircraft.
“There are several more companies with which we have signed contracts, but it is too early to announce them,” the director said.
Wizz Air Abu Dhabi low cost airline is based in the UAE and is a joint venture between state-owned ADQ and Hungary’s Wizz Air Holdings plc.
Wizz Air Abu Dhabi will operate from Abu Dhabi to Boryspil international airport (Kyiv region), the airport said on Saturday, July 3.
“The airline plans to operate flights with a frequency of once a week, every Saturday. The number of flights will increase during the summer. Wizz Air Abu Dhabi plans to operate three flights a week from the end of August, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays,” the airport said in the statement.
The flights will be operated on modern Airbus A321neo aircraft with ultra-low emissions, noise and fuel consumption. Wizz Air Abu Dhabi’s fleet consists of four such aircraft.
According to the flight booking service, from July 20 to July 31, the airline will add flights on Tuesdays. For August, the schedule includes flights once a week, on Thursdays, and from September the airline will increase the frequency of flights to three per week: on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
The Hungarian low cost airline Wizz Air will launch four new routes in June from Lviv to Memmingen (Germany), Naples (Italy), as well as Warsaw and Poznan (Poland).
Flights to Memmingen will be launched on June 13 and will be operated on Thursdays and Sundays, the airline’s press service said.
Flights to Naples will start on June 12 and will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Flights to Warsaw will start on June 11 and will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Flights to Poznan will start on June 13 and will be operated on Thursdays and Sundays.
SkyUp will also fly to Naples from Lviv in the summer, Ryanair to Memmingen, LOT and Ryanair to Warsaw, Ryanair to Poznan.
Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air plans to resume flights from Kyiv, Lviv and Kharkiv to 19 cities in ten countries.
Wizz Air will resume flights from Kyiv to Copenhagen, Pardubice, Billund, Vienna, Krakow, Lisbon, Hamburg, Budapest, Naples, Poznan, Bratislava and Katowice in December 2020, according to a press release of the company on Tuesday.
The airline plans to fly from Lviv to Berlin, Szczecin, Bratislava, Pardubice and Vilnius, and from Kharkiv to Krakow, Dortmund, Vienna, Gdansk and Wroclaw.
“The resumption of flights depends on the decision of the authorities to leave or remove this or that country from the list of the ‘green’ zone. Accordingly, in this case, the implementation of these flights will be postponed,” the company said. If the airline is forced to cancel the flight, customers whose reservations have changed will automatically receive a 120% compensation from the initial fare, calculated as a WIZZ credit, which can be used within 24 months from the date of flight cancellation. Passengers can also choose a cash refund.
Wizz Air started operating in Ukraine in 2008. Over the past period, has transported more than 11 million passengers to and from Ukrainian airports.
Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air will resume flights from Kyiv and Lviv to Bratislava (Slovakia) from October 2.
The cost of tickets starts from UAH 309, the press service of the company reported on Wednesday.
“The restoration of flights depends on the decision of the authorities to leave or remove Slovakia from the list of countries in the ‘green’ zone. If it is excluded from the list, flights connecting Ukrainian cities with Bratislava will be postponed,” the company said.
